Diablo had the best sounds of any game ever as far as i'm concerned. You would hear some of the enemies collapse into goo as you killed them. The sound and music were absolutely fantastic. The graphics were good for the time.

However the mod has already implemented some content that was in Hellfire into the base game which is pretty cool. Not sure if or when we'll see Hellfire fully available with the mod. A friend of mines older brother bought this for the computer when it first came out he was in his 20's and I was in my late teens, we installed this game and played it for HOURS the first day/night and finally took a break to eat and were watching the news and they had an entire segment on about this game and how addictive it was and people were playing it for way to long at a time, seemed odd at the time but it was and is a very addictive game

Pro tip: with a warrior, get your dexterity up fast. Once you can wear decent armor and a good morning star, only put points into dexterity and once you feel you have enough chance to hit, start pouring into vitality and strength. The better you can hit your enemies the less they can hit you. Also, knock back is not an attack you want unless you are surrounded by mobs. The problem with it is that if you strike a ranged character, you can not stun-lock them as usual, and they or their allies can normally run away or get a free shot on you. Also, light radius affects how far both you AND your enemies can see, meaning you can get a lot closer to them before they start running away or engaging if you have low light radius. Don't worry about getting any magic with a warrior until late game because you won't need it unless you are frustrated chasing the succubi in hell.

The no-BS-warrior = Pour all your points into DEX until maxed (at 60), then alternate between 5 points to STR and and 2-3 to MAG-VIT, and later 5-5 STR-VIT. You'll need MAG fairly soon; in Norm-L12-16 for tele-ing witches. Also prioritize +DEX items until you have total DEX at 90-110 range. Look for a Sword of Speed/Haste, and you should be fairly safe until Hell. Remember to hoard a couple of 50+ % resist rings/amulets, +% Resist All if possible. The classic ObsZod works perfectly, and its little brothers. But for those, you'll need to grind Norm-Hell for quite long (months even).

@Mr Satan Yeah, there's 3 different versions included, a new HD version with modern improvements, a classic version, and the Hellfire version. I've been testing around with mods as well. "The Hell 2" and "Belzebub" and a couple others are promising.

@@sakura2974 The diabdat.mpq file is just a file for checking if the game cd is in your cd drive and contains most of the games files. If you have the GOG version, the 'diabdat.mpq' file should already exist in the game directory and you don't need to worry about it, if you have the retail version, you have to copy that file from the cd to where you have the game installed. Now for zooming in and out with the mod, I've never had problems with it and I play the retail version, so I wouldn't be sure what is causing your problem. Also, make sure you're running the belzebub.exe file because if you don't then you're not running the mod.

For anyone who has Neverwinter Nights 1 Enhanced Edition recently released by Beamdog (who purchased the rights to NWN from Bioware), there is a simulation of the Diablo series in multiplayer. Just look for the Viking Northeast server. The server requires CEP and attempts to copy the "feel" of Diablo 1 & 2 instead of trying to exactly duplicate them. There was a non-EE version running for a long time, but that's been down for half a year and probably won't be back.

I would like to mention, that Belzebub is like a blend of diablo 2 and diablo 3, also, there is a multiplayer option, you need the Tchernobog version. IP games only, but it does work on multiplayer and is still belzebub mod. One of the better features this game offers is a shared stash between all your chars (100 pages) and a personal stash for each char (100 pages). -e Great video friend. May the you find the loot you seek in your eternal conflict.

A few things for you, Gheed is a Diablo 2 character, that priest never existed in Diablo1, and Hellfire is not canon to the story. It was a modded expansion created by "SIERRA". Hellfire wasn't developed by Blizzard. It was actually developed by Sierra (current Valve) at the time. That's why it isn't included in any official releases ;) the more you know!

Sierra didn't develop the content in Hellfire. Sierra simply added back/activated omitted/disabled content that Blizzard originally intended on being included on final release. Faster walking in town, etc was implemented with the official Diablo 1: Hellfire expansion pack. Diablo 1: Hellfire expansion pack was done by another company. Sierra. There could be legal stuff about it not being in the official game.

I love that you're playing this now. This game changed my life. I bought it the day it came out as a kid after mowing all kinds of lawns. This game changed my life and was my first scary game. Now i have played d2 and d3 and look with horror at the future of the franchise. Now knowing that Blizzard seems to be after the quick cash grab instead of reliably enduring games. It's a damn shame! I would STILL rather play this game than d3 or wow. Most people would. If they could just cut the shit and make insanely well made and immersible gaming experiences again they would make exponentially more money than off something anyone could pick up. Not everyone was welcoming of diablo 1, but it was the best selling pc game for years. They didn't build it to be widely accepted and welcomed, they built it to be amazing. Somewhere along the line that idea has completely reversed and it's a travesty. A damn travesty.

I was able to beat the game with rogue and sorcerer, because spells are very important, and the warrior is the slowest user, and the Rogue is able to disarm traps. Firewall was one of my faves from what I can remember, but yeah, melee was not kind with the number of enemies you face.

That's just it, it was her unique ability, you basically clicked every chest with it just to make sure, while the other two only got repair skills that lowered the max durability of the item.

Bard was my absolute favorite class in Hellfire and I am massively disappointed that it's not added in Belzebub / Tchernobog ;( Chain Lightning was my spell of choice for the most part. If you like Firewall, you'll love Firewave. It's like Firewall except it slides across the floor for a long while :D But Barbarian, Warrior and Assassin all have improvements in Melee in this HD-Version such as Barbarian having Cleave ( _a move they did not have in Hellfire_ ) which allows them to just decimate entire walls of enemies in quick succession. Rogues get multishot which is as it says, and hilarious. I have completed Belzebub as Necromancer, but not as anyone else yet. The game becomes massively unkind later on.

I can't begin to explain how important the Diablo modding scene has been in my life... Diablo 1 and 2 mods are second only to Doom mods in terms of hours of my life wonderfully wasted, and I wouldn't have it any other way. This mod is the best of the best and it's still cool to see a LP of it get so popular. This is what Diablo and classic gaming in general is all about...The best game design doesn't have an expiration date.

30:10 no, they probably have added Smite from Diablo 2. Armor Class handles the reduction rates and flat damage reductions are applied as -1 Damage From Enemies and such, blocking makes you block most physical attacks (maybe other types as well here) also recovering from the hit quicker than a direct one

I am too young to say I played it back then but I still had a lot of fun when I played it last year. I found my brothers ps1 and a case for Diablo but no actual game. I got a rom for the psx Emulator and hooked my PS4 controller up to my computer. I only got to the first dungeon which I had fun going through. I chose warrior and didn’t know that I should try dexterity then focus more on vitality and strength. To be honest I wish I could’ve experienced this when it came out in the 90s because that would’ve been a great experience compared to my already good first time experience with the game

Glodus Muspell You needed Diablo to play Hellfire, it was just a extention sub-contracted to another developper. It had no stand-alone campaign, or anything. It had an extra character (a couple more if you added a little line of code in a .txt file), extra items, spells and a weird industrial dungeon

The original game had no stash. I remember vividly my dad would horde all the unique items and just have them lying all over town. Same with a bunch of huge piles of gold. Also don't feel so bad about the walk speed cause that was added by Hellfire

Small detail that makes a huge difference for me? Static difficulty. In D3 enemies level with you, removing the whole point of levelling, basically giving you new skills, sure, but degrading your equipment, and, if you look at it again, degrading your character. Instead of allowing you to rampage across the initial areas like a motherf*cker without any gear after you've beaten the game, you gotta worry about finding yet another decent item to fill that slot your recently-underleveled darling helmet left behind. Because you got stronger, but so did the enemies. I know some people like that, but I honestly prefer to have a challenge when I choose to have a challenge. Sometimes I just want to kick back and relax, you know? Wanted to know other people's opinions. By the way, you got another subscriber, pal :D

Making the enemies level up with you takes out any RPG feeling. I hate this in Skyrim too.

I dislike levelling in general, my favourite system is in Ultima Online. You have a variety of skills and can have a max amount of skill points to share between them. You cannot master everything, and instead of gaining exp to level up and assign points, you practice a skill to get better at it. But you can only improve to your maximum number of skill points and after that if you want to learn something new you have to loose skill in something you have. This also means that enemy difficulty is static, and equipment doesn't become outdated. The crafting system was brilliant too, at least before any of the expansions, the best gear in the game could only be made by players who had mastered the skill. I haven't played in a long time, but as I understand it these days the best gear in the game is now dungeon loot and it's much better than anything a player can make. Which I don't like as it makes some of the trade skills basically worthless, at least past a certain level.

It is best game of the world. I was played. 1999 as a level 53 paladin. I already store my saves (diablo2 ,paladin 73 too;)

hellfire although was a licensed expansion, was not made by blizzard, it was made by sierra, and blizzard do not own the distribution rights
