What you forgot to mention is that this runeword works really well with a fireclaw druid. You can use eth/noneth version of the item (polearms have sick durability) and due to the low price just rebuild it ever so often. If your ias breakpoints r high enough it wins over a 6*sheal'ed PB due to the physical dmg you deal, and also enables a more diverse build on the skill AND itemside If u're ballsy, u could also use this item on an enchant sorc. Looks insane and hits like a truck

Just found the channel. It popped up in the feed. I just made this runeword the other night. I found an E-Cryptic doing cows and at first was way bummed it was 5 socket and not 4 as I like to make insights. I had quite a few KO’s and FAL’s just like the vid said lol. I went ahead and made it and it turned out really well. I really like the fact my merc can use at 59. So this one will be great earlier on with big damage.

I have my merc run obedience in a thresher with a treachery and with my smiters fanat aura he hits the cap of 5 frames and 60 total fhr as well. He shrugs off any damage quickly and starts WAILING on monsters. He does more damage to the ubers than I do and genuinely helps my clear speed. The helm is a 8% life leach 20 Dr gaze as well. So with fade he can tank uber meph with me and shrug off amp damage.

Tbh that -fire res would make the enchant fire damage pop that much harder. Very interesting and underrated runeword. Virtually every guide I've come across will tell you to get an Act II merc and give them an Insight polearm. It's good to see alternatives.

Another cheap alternative too, most of the other polearms require at least one rare rune. This one doesn't really have any runes I would consider rare. Although insight is still cheaper.

Insight is only really useful for Mana heavy characters, I don't bother with insight on most of my Melee builds because I steal enough mana per hit that it's not necessary. That's when I use items like this on my merc instead.

@@R0GU351GN4L plus with melee builds you can usually build a healthy amount of damage taken goes to mana. So that even if you're in a situation where you're not getting any Mana steal you can still get mana back. I used to have night smoke belt on just about every melee character for the 50% damage taken goes to mana.

Hi Ginger G.M. Just last week I tried doing Obedience for my mercenary because I wanted a cheap runic word to put in the base I had just found! A nice ethereal man catcher ... sad story as you know ... But I comforted myself by watching some videos of Diablo 2 carbot, (which if you don't know it really makes everyone who has played D2 die of laughter and I highly recommend it) and of the fact that I just lost a Ko and a Fal. The man catcher is now a warning on the runes page in the inventory.

I know everybody wants Infinity but this looks like the next best thing for a summoning necromancer that has a life outside of D2. With the CB you can melt bosses and the insane damage maybe paired with Treachery should get you to start corpse exploding really quickly unless the corpse shatters. I dunno but I take the shatter chance for the boss killing power it provides. I'd just make an iron golem out of the Insight because life without Insight is tough on a necro.

I have both infinity and Obedience. This is the best weapon you can get before an infinity. And even then many will use this for ubers. I use an iron golem for Insight. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a merc using Obedience.

@@bonbonflippers4298 you would only need infinity for the conviction aura, other wise obedience is superior in terms of dps and survivability on the merc himself. I'm sure infinity is nice on summon necro with all the mages though, I've never went deep into a summoner myself.

My fireball \ orb sorcerer bought herself an unusual mercenary. Act 2 difficulty normal defensive mercenary, with delirium as helmet, stone as armor (no money for fortitude) and an amn socket woestave (Upgraded), is unexpectedly effective, slows down the boss a lot, spams a ton of curses and debuffs on minions, and when I say a ton I mean that most of the time the monsters run away and fight each other, bleeding, blinded, slowed down, it's a delirium). Can tank almost anything and with open wounds it kills anything that is immune to fire and cold even if it has stone skin, but it does little damage, so it is slow to do so. Doing damage is my job anyway ...

@@noslee2667 Firewall synergizes with warmth, which increases your mana regen anyway. So the loss is not as noticeable as you'd think. I farm hell teleporting around with no difficulty. I do use mana potions occasionally to offset the loss in mana regen. But it's not a big deal!

Increasing the Size of your mana pool increases the effectiveness of Warmths Regen. I feel like a lot of people don't realize this. If your mana pool is large enough you will never have any issues with mana with max warmth.

The biggest issue here is that demon limb exists - with a 23 cast when you want enchant, it allowe merc to use better weapons like eth ariocs needle or eth hone sudan - both of which can also be socketed to allow for much more customization.

I really gotta give you credit for mentioning demon limb, as it's an amazing item for prebuffing. However I am slightly stunned by ur mention of ariocs and hone. Those 2 items are among the worst items created for this game and I am unsure, why you would mention them. @@youcan2657 I don't think I mentioned ariocs needle . But hone Sudan yari is a 3 socket polearms with 45% crushing blow. There is really nothing more to say about it. You customize it to your needs. Shael to attack faster, amn for life steal, ect. And the 45% CB goes to work. You can pair it with a duress and a gface to cap off CB entirely and make your Merc into a CB spammer.

I'm a classic player who made the jump to LOD because blizzard killed classic. I'm pretty used to having to mana pot once in awhile and with the new orb/wall sorc meta i have a good amount of warmth on my sorc. So I have been using this as a alternative to insight and I like it a lot, way more powerful weapon. The level requirements are lower too so you can slap it on a lvl 55 merc no problem

It's a pretty powerful item, and yeah a orb wall sorc should have no issues with mana. Remember mana regeneration works better then larger your mana pool is.

Obedience was a game changer for my Act II Merc. I was going through the game with my Bowazon, and my merc was using Spire of Honor. When I got near the end of Nightmare mode it wasn't cutting it anymore, so I upped it to Elite class and it helped somewhat, but once I got into Hell he just wasn't able to keep up. I found a Elite Thresher and socketed it, and used my last Ko rune and he is almost unstoppable now. The only thing that he can't fight are physical immunes, so I have to come to his rescue then. Also, I don't know about you guys, but I've been on the search for more Ko runes and they are hard to find, at least for me.

An amazing runeword for a SSF playthrough. This plus treachery can transform your mercenary from a walking liability that needs constant babysitting into a beast capable of tanking the majority of the game. All for basically ko + lem + fal.

@@R0GU351GN4L Yeah, baal is not hard by any means, but like you said it does take a min or 2 to kill him with my old merc build ( insight+ duriel's shell + crown of thief), with my new build baal dies in less than 20 secs (G face + duress + eth obedience). The first 80% of his life just disappears so quickly because of the high crushing blow, then the skeletons will do the rest in no time.

Best and underrated rw for merc. Really cheap and a mass of godies. Ress great, cb for bigger mobs like champions necessary, 370ed for dmg and mass leech, 200-300def nice, and the best lvl 21 enchant boost the merc attack rating, additional the -25% def on mob with eth. Means the merc can leech with every hit. Better than a merc with 80ias and shitty attack rating, so he miss every second attack.

It was apparently already on the File I loaded in to show off the runeword in single player. I had to remove the Indestructible effect because it is not supposed to be on this runeword. The Files I am working with are quite old and unfortunately sometimes they are not accurately being represented. Which Is why you will always see me differ to the website for more precise details.

My act 2 merc on my strafe amazon was starting to struggle with his life steal now i'd gotten into hell (he was currently using a trashy slow speed halberd insight), found an ethereal mancatcher in the maggot den, cubed some sockets on it - was hoping for 4 just to upgrade the insight, but it rolled 5. Was curious what I could do with it and on googling, turns out obedience looks like a nice shout. Don't think I really need the insight mana regen aura anymore as a strafe zon, I might need to improve his lifesteal helm a bit - but this looks to be a massive upgrade :D

Yeah, he seemed pretty nuts - already had a treachery on him & a bulwark helm (which only rolled 4 life steal sadly) but he seems to be holding his own well currently. I'm surprised mancatcher is best though, I'd have assumed a thresher would have been preferential (iirc they have v fast speed?). I'm happy either way though, accidentally stumbling into a sick upgrade is an amusing treat to remember.

The insane damage + crushing blow on Obd might be just what I need for my fishymancer merc instead of Insight now that I have some good mana regen with my gear. Not sure about the frost damage tho, the shatter effect could be annoying. I'm willing to take the risk and will try it. So 2.4.3 had huge changes to whirlwind, and it now uses off weapon ias. I have Also noticed whirlwind seems to work better with shorter ranged weapons. I would recommend a "Thresher" Check out my 2.4.3 video where I test out whirlwind 🌪️🌪️

Mana Regeneration works better with a larger mana pool. Most people have issues with mana Because their mana pool is tiny. If you build your mana pool a bit larger and add some Regen you will have less trouble. Also + to mana after each kill is effective if you kill quickly.

Would really like to use that. Too bad I mostly play on characters that are dependent on having Insight on the merc. Like sorc, fisting paladin. On the bowazon I've used Act 3 merc as he gives enchant now, which really helps with it's AR bonus, and general fire damage of Act 3 merc helps with physical immunes.

so crushing blow is always 25%. The 40% you are seeing is the chance to proc the effect, not the amount the effect procs. Crushing blow stacks up to 100% proc chance from multiple pieces of equipment but is always a set percentage based on the weapon and monster being used/hit. Melee weapons on a normal monster = 25% Melee weapons on a boss/elite/champion = 12.5% Melee weapon in pvp = 10% Ranged weapon on normal monster = 12.5% Ranged weapon on boss/elite/champ = 6.25% Ranged weapon in pvp = 5%

@@4time2waste yes they are extremely easy to care for in my opinion. The poop is little hard rocks you can vaccume up they don't pee much being desert animals. You get a nice big cage for them I recommend two so they can have a friend. Also a big wheel so they can get excerise. It takes some time but they will eventually bond with you with a bit of patience. They will beg at the cage door just like dogs for treats and to come out and play.

I've found two of each of these playing through HC to the end of Nightmare (with some time spent over-levelling in TZs). They're not too difficult to find, and in comparison to true high runes they're positively common. As far as bang for buck goes, this runeword is right up there.
