Dr. Chopra has been who I have listened to since a bunion surgery that gave me CRPS. I am a physical therapist assistant with a medical viewpoint on this disease. I have been to Italy for neridronic acid which helped my CRPS foot osteopenia. That treatment was $800 for 4 days of infusions. I don't think that insurance covers bisphosphonates in the US. I have never had a sympathetic block or considered a spinal cord stimulator as Dr. Chopra speaks against these things. I exercise everyday and I have pain levels that fluctuate from 4 to up and over a 10 on the pain scale depending on something flaring my foot. I learned desensitization in school, but Dr. Chopra is correct in saying that this only flares CRPS. The two therapeutic drugs that have helped me the most, besides neridronic acid are pentoxifylline and memantine. Memantine is a NMDAR blocker like keatamine, however it is paid for by my insurance company. Dr. Chopra discusses most discusses most of the interventions that I have tried, including oxytocin nasal spray, but I have missed hearing him speak about memantiine. Memantine gave me my life back. I have actually had some pain free days. I'm hoping that he will include it in a talk. Maybe I've missed it. GMI didn't work for me because my foot hurt to much to pretend that it was not on the opposite side of the mirror. It's easy if you aren't in pain. Maybe I did it wrong? I do think that it would be good for right and left discrimination if you are avoiding using a limb. I would like to get back to work in physical therapy. Having CRPS completely changes my perspective on patients in pain. I think that Dr. Chopra does the best talks for a medical professional who does not have the disease himself. If my insurance would pay for me to go out of state for treatment, I would love to visit with Dr. Chopra.

Alendronic acid is available as a pill and is pennies compared with IV. It has also been used in the studies as an oral biphosphate.

But my doctor Dr Donald Bacon in San Antonio retired and he took insurance. Dr. Kirkpatrick is a greedy motherfucker and he's cash only since 2008. DR KIRKPATRICK IS THE BEST. I can assure you that any other doctor is full of shit and not worth your time, because I've seen every single one of them in the entire United States. I dare you to name a doctor and I've seen him. The great thing is that most of them are defense doctors for insurance companies. Now the insurance companies have no one to fucking testify for them as an expert, because I've seen everyone of these motherfucking losers. I went to another emergency room praying to God it was MRSA, and NOT a SKIN ULCER/LESION. It was a skin ulcer and I could get more of them because I'm in stage five. After activity I get swollen like that and I pray to God that fucking goes down. ketamine infusions are the standard of care and when you're not getting high dose Ketamine infusions, you're going to die. This is going to progress, and Ketamine is the only thing that will stop it and give you your life back. 2) I am threatened by ER doctors with a shot of Haldol, which causes permanent neurological damage and is contra indicated with every non-narcotic medication I take. Then restraints, and Baker act or have a clipboard with an "against medical advice" AMA DISCHARGE PAPER, shoved in my face when I didn't ask for one. @@RSDSA I was diagnosed with central sensitization without treatment in 2015. I have worsening body wide burning pain, (jaw burning and night clenching with night guard since 1988, with all molars crackes/crowned). Body pain goes from daily bad but tolerable to debilitating where I'm down, worse and a little better on different days, with fairly constant odd electric zaps in various spots over body. I am hypersensitive and get migraines from lights (sun, fluorescent lights, flashing or blinking lights like car blinkers, police lights) etc, smells (colognes, detergents, dryer sheets, hand soaps, hairspray, dry cleaning smell, flowers, trees, dogs, candles, etc), spices in food, textures of clothing or anything touching skin has to be soft cotton or velour or my skin feels horribly scratchy like there are sharp rough "foxtails" rubbing me. High pitched sounds are intolerable. I get started by sudden noises and heart pounds hard for 30 or minutes. Can't wear anything that is at all snug. Can't wear even low heels or feel burn like fire. I have hair loss, skin rashes, vertical nail ridges/cracking. I have days with brain fog, no concentration ability. Poor sleep with odd nightmares i don't understand. I was very outgoing when young, but now am single and rarely leave my apartment. I worked for 40 years so have Social Security, thank goodness. Doctors seems to think I'm faking or crazy. Even the neurologist I saw so long ago who diagnosed me offered no help and she was not interested in looking into my situation further. Glad I found this channel.

Dr. Chopra, if he only could know my or see all my Dr who as treated mine many yrs.. Everything he has said has come with mine- Started in foot. I was unable to eat--I would throw up all food.. I was down to 83 pounds. 5'6" female .. Wheel chair unable to touch it--air blowing hurt. I began over yrs having one autoimmune illness after another.. Thyroid, my gut and intestines I have issues with all he has spoken about--I saw another more recent video he did-I was shocked to learn and it made sense it all is connected to the CRPS.. My Medical history is solid proof of what he explains ... I had a Melogram.. they ask me if I had been crushed---my spine back broke, thoracic broke.. It is in-depth with proof over time .. This Dr knows what he is explaining.. I suffered in pain horribly..

I got hurt really bad in an accident 3.5 years ago. I swear I got CRPS at this time but didn’t get full symptoms for several years. I was a big fan of marijuana and had some the night of the accident and noticed this horrid electrical feeling in my veins simmer down. I stayed medicated for years til the pain got so bad I blacked out and ended up in the hospital. I spent 8 days there and was only allowed Tylenol and advil since I’m a “drug addict.” I felt my symptoms overwhelming my body after a couple days. Where I just had chronic pain before my body could no longer tolerate any sensations and the motor disabilities began. I went from working full time with pain to laying on the ground unable to move in 1 week. My neck turned red, swole up and I started getting huge lesions on my skin and the sensitivity to touch and temperature became very severe. I got very very sick, started throwing up from my gag reflex because the dystonia twisted up my neck. I got so bad. But I cranked up the thc in response to the pain and after about a month it started to settle down. I believe I have CRPS that was never diagnosed because it is so well controlled by marijuana. Thats not to say it’s not horrible and painful, but I think marijuana may be so affective some ppl may be able to live with the pain Unfortunately when you use this much pot tho doctors will not believe you when you tell them it restores function and they lose interest in treating you if you tell them marijuana works better than drugs. I have 1 chiropractor that will still work with me and together we’re seeing miracles! He’s very positive and encouraging. We’re both open mindedly thinking there’s more potential healing than science knows. The day I told him I could lift weights again he got very excited and told me to run with it. A few weeks later I could remember how to run. A few weeks after that I was deadlifting 100lbs, pain going down every rep. I was so close to that wheelchair and really think I’ve avoided it with lots of hard work and medicine that doctors do not understand

Pain medication is so key to dealing with this and I never needed more. I was on the same dose for years and it never stopped helping. I think it’s people that want to feel the pain killer that think they need more and you really don’t at all. I like that I don’t feel like I took pain killers and another thing that I would say definitely get is Xanax for stress and to sleep it’s probably the best thing out there, trust me on that, you can sleep the whole night and when they took me off it I barely am able to get an hour and I’m trying to get my doctor to put me back on them cause I’m so tired now it’s insane not being able to sleep at night.

Adults who need them because they help their pain should be able to get them. They helped my sons pain and gave him quality of life and function until he was force tapered because of the illegitimate CDC guidelines ruined the lives of millions of pain patients. Opioids are the ONLY thing that help.

I know. My doctor fights me about the Xanax. The pain is horrible at night. I would get no sleep without it. I got total insomnia 3 years ago. When this all started. There are no pain killers I can take. I give him hell about it. He backs down. One dose only gives 3 hours sleep. Sleep is very important with this.

In a majority of people with RSD, pain medication helps tremendously with the crushing bone pain, and the burn. Certain pain meds work more on the nerve pain. Because something doesn't work for you, does not mean they do not for others,

I kinda think i know why we get RSD/CRPS....I been doing a lot of research past 10 yrs and also reading others stories...I do not think it's caused from malpractice....yes a DR. could mess up, they are only human...I have learned over the year not to hate my origin Dr. that I felt caused it......I am a hardcore survivor second by second of the most EVIl PAIN...and I will WIN...w/o all the experimental treatment that have manifest it even more....Dr Chopra is the only Doctor I will listen to....thx for sharing

Ya know what would really help doctor?? If you guys took medicaid so all of these treatments were available to poor people too. It's depressingly obvious that only people with $$$ and/or private insurance/Medicare have access to all of the best treatments. @@RSDSA It may be a good help but try just try to get someone to prescribe it. I have tried for over a year requesting this but cannot find a dr to prescribe it. I was seeing a rheumatologist and explained this to him he went to some website read it and said i agree with you 100%. He said he could not prescribe it but did write he suggested this treatment on a prescription pad for me to give to the pain management dr I was scheduled to see the next week. When I gave it to the pain dr he looked at it and threw it away. He suggested the injections, nerve blocks, and drg. All of which have had that did no good. LDN may be a wonderful medication but if you cant get it prescribed you will never know.

Dr,Choppa: What about Thermography. Mine showed a 1-2 Celsicios changed when they put my left foot in warm water (after the test) there was these temp changes. My feet should have warmed but both cooled down? He told me it showed a instability in the Sympathetic System. This test was used to verify RSDS. My RSDS?CRPS Type 2 from a Brachial injury from Surgery for rescision Of bilateral ribs. Only the right correction was attempted twice. The latter they also performed a sympathectomy. Results: RSDS in my Brachial Plexus per my neurosurgeon. That was in 1995. I was originally diagnosed with possible RSDS in 1985 by cervical ganglia blocks. Ashley Slayton hey I have it in both feet and legs and I had bilateral nerve blocks in sets of 5 one each week and after about 4 I barely needed crutches to limp around and I didn’t need more for about a year or more at first my doctor gave me vikes they didn’t work at all then perks still nothing then I was given opana that worked so well I was on 40 milligrams 3 times a day but then I was forced off of it went to oxys the next month then morphine was the only thing that they would pay for so I was on that the last 5 years 100 milligrams twice a day with diluaded 8 milligrams 3 times not as good as the opana and I mean the original kind of opana that was before they changed it to the kind junkies couldn’t use that made me gain weight and feel tired but the original kind didn’t really have side effects like the other pain killers and I felt pretty normal on them. I got low dose ketamine treatments too but they really didn’t do as much as I thought they would and were very expensive I think I should have probably gotten the coma and try that instead of infusions. When my legs and feet swell and turn red I use ice or in the winter I’ll put them on cold pavement to get relief and that really helps too. Sleep is hard to come by now that my doctor stopped my Xanax I used to sleep through the whole night and the day went much better too. I want to go back on them just to feel better and sleep well. Vibrations hurt and base or engines really hurt especially when swollen and red. Exercise helps when you can do it just walking around or stretching on a chair works well. Sometimes I can’t even place my feet on the ground and that can drive you crazy. Diet helps a lot with feeling tired and not having energy fruit smoothies are something people should drink even the naked drinks if you don’t wanna make your own. I know from my doctor if I ever need surgery or need a tooth pulled that they must give ketamine and crps won’t spread and the doctor has to right must have ketamine or its malpractice but if they won’t give that to you don’t chance it just don’t have surgery until they actually give that to you. Reiki acupuncture and other eastern treatments help out there’s a lot of stuff to do that gets me through the day but trying to do normal things and hang out with people helps so much staying at home by yourself is torture.

Its spread from my left wrist/hand to my right wrist/hand, both arms, then went to right foot, now left foot. I've had it 4 years and I was injured at work, was under w comp and not treated very nice after it was finally diagnosed. Now I have Medicare. Couldn't work anymore at 50. I have had CRPS for four and a half years after an accident. I fell carrying a glass platter and when the glass shattered everywhere, a big chunk of it severed over 50% of the median nerve in my dominant right hand. Days later, it had to be surgically removed. What is odd is that I don't have swelling. Anybody else who has that similarity? After going to countless doctors and being on numerous painkillers, I have found that ketamine treatments are the most helpful. But so dang expensive!

This is going to progress, and Ketamine is the only thing that will stop it and give you your life back. 2) I am threatened by ER doctors with a shot of Haldol, which causes permanent neurological damage and is contra indicated with every non-narcotic medication I take. Have it for Chronic for 30 years. Why did the "PMS buprenorphine/naloxone 2.0/.5mg sublingual made my pain 20 TIMES worse vs taking nothing = (non-stop screaming started after 30 mins & didn't slow till after 6 1/2 hours, then screaming was non-verbal & slowing till the 12 hr mark At least I could talk & I could think at the 7 hr mark). Tried double the dose even tripled it & about 1 hr later... I just non-stop screamed out loud for longer. My pharmacist thought perhaps I had an allergic reaction as it did the reverse of what it should have happened? Please help 30 years is a long time. On the bright side if I'm not screaming I tend to hum or sing (still) when I'm having a have-descent day & I actually get to do something no matter how small. n

My dr gives me ibuprofen and steroids and that's it. I've been taking them for a good year. I told him they weren't good for me. Omg°

I'm not diagnosed with CRPS yet but all the symptoms you identify are what I'm experiencing. I had car accident last February 10 I noticed the swelling goes worse towards end of the day after trying to have normal life walking for few hours. My GP have mentioned that what I'm experiencing might be RSD. The doctor I'm seeing for my accident gave me nortriptyline is this safe to take? It's 10mg daily. It will be appreciated if you could answer me.

It is an older antidepressant, try it for 8 weeks and if it is not working well, try something else. It is also very important to find a physical or occupational therapist familiar with helping people with CRPS regain function. Where do you live?

I saw a video about this. Stating that there is ONE TEST only that can prove CRPS. It's about heat and inflammation and it shows up on THERMOGRAPHC IMAGING. My injury was internal. Stomach inflammation shown by an endoscopy. Highly likely from an infection of the original strain of Covid-19. I started losing weight and can't gain it back. 40 lbs. underweight still. My whole belly swells up and gets spasms. I wasn't hospitalized until several months had passed and the breathing was easier. To this day I have intense pain at the sternum. 3 years later nerve pain wraps around my lower rib cage and feels like I'm tasered and squeezed. Leading to intense anxiety, naturally. And moves around and can spread over my entire body. OUCH!! 24 /7. Low dose naltrexone? Working for me and I'm new on it. Doctor only gave me a little. Now won't refill it without appointment. I was told I could call for refills. Now they insist I come in. But an appointment is not available before I run out of medicine. Needed in 5 days. The stress goes on and on!! Over 3 years to get diagnosed now gotta holler for an appointment ASAP. I know I'm absolutely in good company about having spent years going to doctors and having nothing show on tests. Been told it's all in your head? Yup.
