@@dr.b1346 You know what?? I actually had to watch this again. Barb was throwing a lot of condescending remarks at Ms. Diahann. Trying to make it appear as if she wasn’t as elegant as she was/is. Well anyway, to them (white women) it doesn’t matter if they date black men, because EVERYBODY supposed to desire them. It is sort of sad, because white men are the ones that started this interracial mingling. I honestly believe if white men didn’t adore Ms. Diahann, I think Barb still would have been jealous. Most white people just don’t like to see black people “like” or “love” themselves; if they do, they are considered as uppity. But don’t you supposed to love yourself?? I guess we don’t. Yeah, she was obvious. Ms. Diahann had to feel it.

Ms Carroll was elegance, beauty, poise and class personified. A lady as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She was an amazing talent and a true trailblazer who broke down barriers. Her perfect diction came through when she sang. That lady had such a beautiful voice. We are lucky to have her recordings. She truly was one of a kind. I met her in the 1980’s in Cardiff South Wales. It was a Vic Damon’s concert. This was just before they married and were engaged. He brought her on stage and she sang. Everyone was captivated by her incredible voice and beauty. There was a Lord Mayor reception afterwards, they both attended. She was so natural and gracious. As for her beauty, her skin was flawless. A 20 year old would have killed for skin like hers. She was late 40’s at this time and was on Dynasty. But she made time for everyone there who wanted to talk to her. It really was an honour to meet this wonderful lady. RIP Ms Carroll, heaven has a new angel.
