The production values and attention you give to the fine details of this R&R are five star. I have often cursed the design and placement of components in newer vehicles, including my 1998 Toyota Sienna SE, with it's 185,000 miles. Is there special attention given by designers and engineers to the way mechanics are instructed in how to repair 'harried' components? Thanks again! Roy

the old saying went: if the designers had to work on their cars, there would be a food of clearance between each part and they would never have to go under the car.....of course your engine compartment would be the size of locomotive!

Awesome! High quality video, great presentation skill and very comfortable by listening the way you present it. I just finished mine, I replaced the top right and bottom front; parts for both under 100 dollars. The dealer asks for 850.00 for both, and Pep Boys asks for 600.00 for both. Besides am saving lot of money, but at the same time I really enjoying it fixing my own car. Keep up your nice work and will WATCHING you again... LOL Many thanks.

Very helpful as always. Mine was complicated by the fact that the front body-side bolt pulled out the threads from the body with it, requiring some drilling and fishing a bolt through from the bottom of the frame rail. Also, the Anchor brand that I purchased was not drilled properly and the bolt (middle) on the engine side did not line up with the threads. It was offset by around 2-3mm.

Beware that the clunk when going over bumps is oftentimes an engine mount, but it can also be the strut brace under the cowl. My mom's Nissan Altima 3.5SE had loose strut brace bolts. Apparently, this is a common issue. It's kind of dumb that these would loosen over time.

DIY Apprentice I’m telling you ! I think one of mines either stripped or broken mines are brand new I had been driving and I started noticing that clunking noise again so I jacked the car up one day and checked everything on the suspension with a torque wrench and when I got to the strut towers 1 screw on each strut tower was spinning and wouldn’t get tight so I came to the conclusion that either they were stripped or broken and I contacted the parts place for a warranty exchange!

The rear one is horrible to do. If you are using jack stands, there is so little room underneath and it requires you to cut one if the mount bolt to get it out.

Heads up...Nissan sources their motor mounts from DEA...if you look at DEA p/n A7348, it would state "OEM". Nissan does not manufactuer these parts, they source them, just like Hitachi, and Calsonic, etc, all those parts that are in your Nissan. This part is under $20 + S/H from Rock Auto :D

Hey sir I would really appreciate if you could take some of your time to help me out as in I’m struggling with this part rn .. when I put the new engine mount on place it wiggles it does not sits like a two pieces of a puzzle.. anyways you see the nut that you have to tight from underneath the part of the rod that it’s treaded doesnt make it to the other side . Meaning I can not use the nut and tight it up .. and I’m saying I already put pressure on top with my had so that side sits completely flat so the rod sod should show more from underneath and it still doesn’t ! So I can’t tight it up with the nut .. and even when alot effort I manage to do 3 rotations on the nut .. when I put the nut on the top part and tight it down it lifts the mount from that other side and drops the nut that I tight from underneath. Idk what to do

As everyone on this thread has said - this is a truly excellent video of how to replace the front engine mount. The part you mentioned 11210-8j100, the link asked me for my make and model Maxima 2003 - V6 GLE and it said that it will not fit. Is there another one that will work for my car? BTW need to replace both the front & right engine mounts.

To be 100% certain to get the correct one, I recommend you calling your local NIssan dealer, and ask to speak to someone in the parts department (not service dept). The people in parts dept will tell you which part you should be using.

Is there a different jack point to lift the engine at? I'm a bit weary of damaging the oil pan by lifting/jacking the engine by way of oil pan.
@jewllake
@jewllake 8 жыл бұрын
+slade781 You don't really have much of a choice, unless you want to use an engine hoist from the top. By placing a large block of wood it will distribute the weight and absorb the sharp points on the oil pan. Also, remember you are not supporting the whole engine, as it is still being balance by the transmission, and other mounts.

+Steven Thorkelsen There are 4 mounts on this engine. Right, Left, Front and Rear. At this time, I will only do 2 videos, the Front and the Right. These are also the two most common ones that need replacing. If I need to replace the other ones, then I will do a video later.

Where did you place the jack to lift the motor up to align the new bushing holes?
@dial2fast
@dial2fast 7 жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly, but you use a piece of wood under it so you don't damage anything. There are 3 other mounts holding the engine, so the jack only has to lift it up slightly.
