I’m loving split coil experiments more and more I’m the type of dude who barely even goes to the neck pickup But split tones are so much fun Great video man!

I feel like I'm the opposite, haha. I always gravitate toward the warm and full neck tones but I agree that messing around with the single coils is fun and there are some unexpected results to be found! Thanks!

I'm going to install a Freeway switch on my 8 string so I can finally have some split tones, thx for the tips.They're aren't many ressources for 8 strings split tones, great channel.

Super cool. Single coil and split coil tones for selective picking are some of my favorites to play with.

I've just found your channel, and I am enjoying it a lot. I think it has pick up my interest for 8 string guitars (other than playing the Doom OST :P)

Hey! Appreciate you being here. Glad I can open up your interests! That's one of my goals for myself as well. Although not much beats the Doom soundtrack.

Would you be able to create a tosin/animals tapping tone video in the future? Trying to learn Air Chrysalis at the moment. Thank you! Great content as always 🤟

I could definitely give it a go!

Thanks for the useful content. And what about the sound interface and direct box for 8 strings with active pickups ? I will always listen to your advice...

Hey! No problem. Happy to put this stuff out there. I haven't tried a DI box with my 8-string or active pickups but I don't expect it would be much different. My Abasi guitar has active pickups and works perfectly normally into my interface. I would just give it a shot and don't be afraid to experiment or rent some gear from a local shop to try stuff out.

Thanks for the video man. I don't have the option to split coils. Is there anything I can do to get the same sound?
@eightmetalstrings7 ай бұрын
Nothing will sound quite the same. What to do really depends on what you're playing/playing through. Start in a mid or treble pick up setting on your guitar. Then, if you have an EQ in your line I would start by cutting the 250-999 Hz range and boosting the 1000-2000 Hz stuff. Then experiment cutting and boosting different combinations of high mids and highs to see if you can get something you like. I would say the main goal is "snappy," whether it's split coil or not. The way to do that is to have a clean sound with bright/hot attack and not too much frequency content distorting the signal. Hope that helps!
