It took a good decade for LHL to get to this level of temperament and wisdom, I still recall how he was as a new PM. not sure if it's fair for voters to expect the new PM to be this way out of the box, but it's what we need.

I was in Israel 2 years ago and my tour guide was a Jew and a historian . We were visiting a holy site and he was explaining the religious and historical background of the site. Half way through he suddenly stopped. I saw 2 Catholic nuns walking by. My Jewish guide approached them and the nuns were taken aback. I overheard part of their conversation and noted he was apologising to the nuns. When he returned I asked him what it was about. He explained that it was reported on TV that some Jewish young man insulted some Catholics physically and he went up to the nuns , identified himself as a Jew and on behalf of the Jewish population and community he was apologising to the nuns for the actions of these people who do not really represent the Jewish community. I was impressed as to how a society can evolve to this level of empathy to admit the disgraceful act of their community and apologise for it publicly . The nuns thank him and smiled and went their way.

Sometimes it is just common sense! Everyone knows that if one put a ighted match to a cup of petrol, the petrol will catch fire. Same with human relationship. Each of us should know or should learn about the others religion, faith, belief and culture and not to speak with intiention to ignite emotional disagreements and disputes. Self respect and mutual respect are important in a multi-racial and multi-religious society. One cannot be self centred or selfish to one's needs only. We must be aware of our surroundings. As such, one should not impose his/her valutes onto others in order to agree to your view. Everyone of us has his/her own rights.

Discussing about race is like going down a slippery slope - difficult to balance. Yet, facing the issue head on can offer a way to go over and beyond it. One way is for one, or many who are interested, to study world religions. Starting with the major religions in SG, their origins and evolution over time. It's within 10,000 years that most, if not all, human religions originated since the first humans started writing in some form.

Singapore can do it because of the composition of it population. In other countries, minority are racially discriminated as in the government's policies.

Multiracial society is rich with diverse of culture , food, costume and festival. Each individual can take opportunity to learn the unique identity of other races. This may provide additional advantage for people to improve and enjoy their lives by sharing different values of life from other races.

GAME CHANGER MINDSET and POLICY that positively impact the individuals and communities and businesses as well as social welfare and the nation 1. A nation of 🙋♀️ 🙋♂️ VOLUNTEERS ( 80 % of the people participating in PART-TIME VOLUNTEERING tied up with FREE TRAVEL INCENTIVES ENTITLEMENTS ) 2. Lower income groups and handicap groups are encouraged to doing part-time volunteering ( in exchange for home-cooked healthfood and contributing towards their other needs ) : a. RECLAIMED their INDEPENDENCE b. Cultivating GAME CHANGER MINDSET c. Realising change your thinking change your life ✨️ positively Currently the practice of giving free groceries and cooked food to needy individuals and families are a showcase of SUPERFICIAL and QUANTITATIVE so call kindness But not at all healing them mentally and physically as well as spiritually

It took Sg more than 30yrs to built a racial harmonious multi racial, multi religious & multi cultural nation. But in recent yrs the influx of newly neutralized citizens, there are fissures that shows up as some still cling tightly onto their country of origin and wouldn’t integrate properly and still have some prejudices against other races. Hope these could embrace our racial harmony culture, learn, understand & respect other races, their religions, their culture & traditions.

Harmony among the our citizens is all about not to divide those that wish to have a balance respect between one another. We causes hatred, when we strart to preference that support or not over the ruling party.

Some of the questions raised by a couple of the young ones here are worrying. Talking about more welfare for our migrant workers (meaning taking more resources away from Singaporeans just to materialize this), attempting to make the work permit migrant workers mix and stay together with Singaporeans in HDB flats. Worrying indeed. If these were to become leaders in whatever organizations they work with later in life, and if they are in a position to have a say and decision making on such matters, it will be disastrous for Singapore and Singaporeans.

Harmony requires brushing aside sensitiveness. I was at a cafe in orchard sipping my favourite cafe latte with my girlfriend. We were enjoying our quiet time and conversation in a nice ambiance. Unfortunately 2 quite vibrant yet chatty with high tone individuals came to sit next us, changing the atmosphere. One of whom were coughing away quite badly. We were kind of disappointed but they didn’t tone down. So we decided to leave. We left because of the persistent coughing. Irritated with the change in atmosphere but was not the reason. I read in many instances the interpretation could be we didn’t want to sit with a different race. Which the description above explains. A hypersensitive person may see it as racism yet once explained there are good reasons and its not race.
@jinyaoye58322 ай бұрын
We should have more such conversations. Maybe good to have adults perhaps? Btw it seems from the cameras that there seems to be more minority participation in this forum. Many of the questions on immigrants and race. Btw, racism can happen to the majority too. Any attempts to try change the status quo can also be racism to the majority. Similarly the increasing loss of the majority’s Chinese language abilities can also be seen as majority being assimilated or culturally diminished … it works both ways. “The leader of the opposition “ had proposed an English test.. that by itself may look benign and even right from an English speaking Singapore. But Singapore isn’t an Anglo city nor just English speaking! Neither should we allow our ethnic language be eroded or forgotten in the public sphere. Moreover such proposals reminds many such discrimination during colonial times and exclusion acts that was put in place. Chinese does get its fair share of unfairness and discrimination too!

That's why Hadis 40 was introduced to Malaysian education system before it got out of control. We must discuss and take effort to clear everything to make people of majority to understand.
