So... I noticed at 17:08 that they make a speech mentioning "Your God" versus "our god". Salman Rushdie was raised Muslim and later became an atheist. Either his god IS your god or he doesn't have one. There was something mentioned about him having a Jewish sidekick... but that STILL means that it's the same god.

From what I read, the Muslims themselves were divided on how to (supposedly) punish Salmon Rushdie for the book. Iran simply put a fatwa on Rushdie's head ordering anybody to kill him on sight. In contrast, the Saudis wanted him to face Islamic jurisprudence via a trial based on Sharia that would give him a chance to repent and if he refuses would decide whether to kill him or not. This is true, according to fiqh: "a person accused of an offense is to be brought to trial, confronted with his accuser, and given the opportunity to defend himself. A judge will then give a verdict and if he finds the accused guilty, pronounce sentence... Even the most rigorous and extreme of the classical jurist only require a Muslim to kill anyone who insults the Prophet in his hearing and in his presence. They say nothing about a hired killing for a reported insult in a distant country" So Pakistan's actions in the film are more on par with Iran's views than those of Saudi Arabia's.

The ending reminds me of another review you did. I don't recall the name, but it involved Jesus in a diner choosing to save all but one of the people there. Basically, one guy gets to go to hell because Jesus couldn't be bothered to convince him the way he did the others. The ending to International Guerillas reminds me of that. If Allah could simply tell the author and the others (the woman who converted at the end especially, since she did convert at the end), why not choose earlier to manifest rather than now? Ah well. Vengeful rather than obvious or forthcoming, I suppose.

I love it. The motivation is that the Sunnis and Shi'ites and Taliban have all agreed to stop wishing utter annihilation upon each other in order to actually achieve their stated goals: a New World Order of Islam. That's about as silly as making a horror movie about the Final Crusade being upon us because the British Protestants and the Irish Catholics finally agreed to stop hating each other and take over the world.
@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes453 жыл бұрын
I can attest to the fact that will never happen. Irish and British absolutely despise each other.

I think its funny @DiamandaHagan, I can tell all of these last 3 or 4 reviews are the same time frame because I can hear the cheep of the smoke alarm in each of them, apparently you are just as lazy as I am to putting in new batteries in them. I have never watched your stuff still I saw a co-review recently, and I wanted to watch them all chronologically. So this was just a thought I had. I think they are great, and the character you've made is much better then the average reviewer.

Koyla counts as a hindu movie.It`s wonderfully batshit insane. It`s an epic action musical horror romance about a villain who I swear is the real inspiration for Bill in the Kill Bill movies. It also features ads for Copal Gold tobacco worked into the character`s dialogue as well as all over the set and the awesome soundtrack features a number where the heroine and the village steal pot candy and sing a song praising Ram, as well as another song that rips off Vangelis.
