Nice job cleaning it up. I like these types of clean up vids of tools more so than a full restorations. Leaving a tool as it is shows it's history and past use. Sometimes I can't decide whether to leave them shiny or do a cold blue.

@@357magdad Thank you for that. Great video...alloy artifacts helped identify a pair of Channellock pliers I picked up at the flea market. A friend gave me a monkey wrench similar to the one in your video though mine does not have wooden handles. Appears to be all metal. At some point in time it was painted and I cannot read any of the stampings...yet. But once cleaned I'll be sure to use one of the resources to find additional info on it. Thanks again magdad

Glad to see you didn’t polish it to a mirror finish. They were never made that way. And besides those polished mirror tools like SnapOn are impossible to hold when cold and oily/greasy (when you’re doing real repairs or outside in the winter!)

.I have a couple of Diamond Calk adjustables. Yours was neglected, but not abused, so what a find at $1. I blued one, after it came out "too shiny", and like it. Thank you for the video, and will try the heat shrink on the Dremel wire brush.

Love those Diamond Calk adjustable wrenches. Since this cute little 6” wrench was 100 years old, no wonder you had trouble getting that pin out. Never knew that CRC made a Knock-Er-Out loosener,looks like it worked with heat. Turned out great.

Great restoration of a nice low mileage, early production wrench. As always, the research you do adds interesting context to the project. I like the way you use vintage tools you have restored earlier, such as the small hand vise, to restore new projects. Tools are still useful after 100 years.

Yes, not too shiny, except on the handle from wear. Could also use some paint in the middle to accent the lettering. It led a hard life from all the pitting, but so long as the jaws are not sloppy it will do many more.

I had a shop teacher at Grand Rapids MN that had worked for Diamond Tool, in the machine shop he had a display of every step of the forging process that wrench went through, and you never let him hear you call it anything but an open end adjustable. Definitely not a crescent.

You must not be confident in using a grinder on tools, just yet! Scoutcrafter almost always smooths out the pits in wrenches he restores with his trusty grinder. Practice up! your restoration looks great too but the grinder could have taken it next level smooth!
