These are the ladies of my youth. Their voices carried me through 2 tours in Viet-Nam. I have been an avid fan of both ever since. I lost over 400 friends back then and sent many to their God but still hold onto the sound of these two gals. I could not end a night without it. Thank you Judy and Joan!!!!

I met Judy at the children's hospital of PA during my orthopedic surgery. She was beautiful, sweet, caring, and she had the most beautiful voice. What an honor is must be to be able to know this woman personally and I will never forget the day I met her.

Judy is still a soprano. Amazing that she can still sing in her old keys. Joan can't, but she sounds good, too. Great harmony between them.

These two ladies are reminiscent of two angels, singing gentler than all nightingales of this world ...

My husband was a friend of Judy Collins' brother, Dave; As they played Ball at Cheeseman Park in Denver, Colorado, they would go back to the Collins house, where they could hear Judy practicing in the background. This was the early 60s; had no idea what a star she would become!

This made me cry, the love of old friends looking out for one another as we all have to embrace the changes of age. Both ladies ageing gracefully. Beautiful to listen too. 🌺🌺

O my! So very beautiful, so sensitive and gentle and deeply moving. I am saddened by critics who base their assessment on age and looks. These women are legends and we are truly blessed by their work, and thanks for uploading, thank you thankyou

This took me back to how great these two ladies sounded on my first high end audio system in the 70's When you listen to this music, it just emphasizes the quality difference between what we had during that period and the shit that passes for talent today!

I remember when my friends and I spent many a magical hour in Greenwich Village at Gerde's Folk City listening to the songs we loved and imagining what PEACE would be like in this world. The hope never fades and the music is embedded in our minds. Jose Feliciano, Judy Collins, Pete Seeger, Brother john Sellers, Peter, Paul and Mary ( Whatever happened in Hunalee?) Remember?

Quand j'étais jeune, j'étais étudiant à Temple U à Philadelphie et j'ai eu la joie d'assister au spectacle de Judy Collins... Que de temps est passé... Joan, j'ai pu l'entendre deux fois à Nîmes depuis. When I was Young, I was a student at Temple U, in Philadelphia and I had the great joy to assist tha great Judy Collins show... So much time has past since then... Joan, I could ear her twice in Nîmes since then. By the way, if anybody assisted classes at Temple U in the 70's, let me know. Maybe we met already ? I have a Facebook account under my name : Johan Abit.

@Proculled Oh you lucky thing - I've been a fan of Joan's for nearly 50 years and have yet to see her in concert, I live in Australia. Judy's CD's is wonderful each song is wonderful, however D & R with Joan is the greatest of course - I get goosebumps every time I listen to them - I believe Judy recorded her part in NY and Joan somewhere in a studio in SF and it came together beautifully. Down the street at Carnegie hall and Lincoln Center the professional musicians playing in the world class symphonies always use a music+ stand. Elvis used a cheat sheet with lyrics - when someone asked why he could get away with it- He said because I'm Elvis. I understand the point but Joan wrote the song decades ago and it looks like Judy Collins and she were trying out some sophisticated harmonies. I appreciate that the great Joanie was turning pages for another legend, it shows humility..

They only get better with age. Thanks for posting this recent video of these ladies. I couldn't believe how much fun I had seeing Joan Baez the last time, only a few years ago. In 1968 at UCLA she was much more political. It was during the war of course and tensions ran high. She still hates war, but knows how to kick up her heels a little more.

@flierumph Hello, I think I may have responded to either you or someone else before. If you notice the weather in very windy/rainy and the papers were flapping everywhere - the reason why both of them are looking at the "words" is that only just prior (like minutes) before their performance of this song they had to work out who sang what parts, and that's what they were looking at - whose turn it was and when to sing together.
@oneseeker24 жыл бұрын
💘, melting

Joan knows the words, silly flierumph! She's helping Ms Collins -- happens all the time when people sing together.
