WIP and Chat - Kit up w/DAC's new storage, tag questions, and taking it one day at a time

I've been curious about the new storage so thanks for trying it out for us. Considering that DAC has been steadily increasing the color counts of their new releases - lately it's common to see color counts in the 70s, 80s, and even the 90s - to have only 54 compartments in the new storage system seems absurdly inadequate. Makes me wonder if the intent was for people to buy 2 sets, but then that doubles the expensive price which is already out of reach for so many. To DAC's credit, they do have a track record of being very responsive to customer feedback, so hopefully future versions of this product will reflect that. If they increase the number of compartments and decrease the price, I would seriously consider it as a viable storage option. In the meantime, I'll keep using my cylinder containers in the cases - I have 60, 65, 70, and 96 count cases that have been working well for me. 🐕🐶🐾

They actually addressed a lot of this on someone's 'review' in the VIP group. They'll be selling the individual containers eventually, possibly adding a smaller set of containers, and the price will be going down once they can place larger orders for them with their manufacturer. :)

Hi Katie. I apologize for being late on watching last weeks WIP. Been dealing with some health issues lately. Definitely missed your videos. I’m catching up now. 🐕 Tag Questions: 1. I’ve completed 38 since October 2022. I have 2 WIPs 2. I have 65 in my stash 3. I had cross stitched for years and years (starting when I was a teen) had to give it up do to my hand not being able to grip the hoop long. In 2020 I had fallen and torn a ligament in my foot causing me to have two surgeries and not being able to walk for 24 weeks. I had to find something to do. I was always crafty and my coach at the time mentioned diamond painting. I didn’t know what it was. I went on KZbin. Rachel was the first I saw and then I believe it was you I came across. I ordered a painting off amazon to see if I would even enjoy it. Immediately I did. My second painting was from DAC and I’ve never looked back. 5. I enjoy listening to you and Shay. I listen to a lot of podcasts or shows while I Diamond paint 6 & 8. I have done a lot of Ivy Dolamore and Chuck Pinson. I have the most of them and maybe Randal Spangler 7. I enjoy doing portraits/ landscapes

I discovered DP at an assisted living facility one of my patients lived at. A wonderful lady went to the facility and taught the residents how to do it. Several of the elderly ladies and a few gentlemen love it. I was facinated at the benefits they were getting from it. I picked up a small kit at Hobby Lobby and have been addicted every since.

I’m on my third painting. Total newbie. I’m now working on my first DAC and it’s my first square. I’m never going back. So much better to work with than the stiff canvas of the first two I did. I’m waiting for my storage kit I ordered on the Bogo deal this week. Can’t wait! I now have 12 DAC kits. I’m already wondering where to put them all. Best therapy ever.

Hey Katie! Amazing WIP and chat again. I went to Maine for 2 weeks so I haven't been able to catch you videos. Got back home on Saturday and started catching up! I got a thermal sticker maker from temu. Best money spent. I now take pictures on the ledgend, print and stick. There is no need for printer ink. Makes it so much easier.

I would probably stick with JGS and Munimade for my main DP companies. For my kit up storage solutions, I have EW if I'm kitting straight into containers and Bella Art de Nicole 32-48 baggy holders. I love those so much!

I have a small suitcase for storage and holds 240 small round containers. I save my drill left overs too. I got it from Amazon.

I have over 100 Diamond Art, Diamond Art Studio UK, 1 Oreola, Dreamers Designs and then a few other artists. I started with coasters that I purchased and started April 2023 when my grandkids came over and instantly fell in love immediately. I have competed since I started 37. I currently have 5 WIPS in progress. I would buy from Diamond Art Club and Diamond Art Studio UK. I watch KZbin channels and TV shows where I don't have to watch the show all the time to understand what is going on. I love landscapes, flowers, and animals. I alzo have learned I need to see a rendering now before i purchase any painting. I am not crazy with people in my canvases unless it is a Heaven and Earth Design and I know the person. Robert Final and Chuck Penson. I think it's Check Penson. Thanks for the interaction. It's fun to learn about you and others that watch. Good Luck with process you are going through, I am sure it is difficult but it will work out for the best.

My backstory is that I initially started doing perler beads and I had just finished a 50 x 50 picture of the raiders emblem (pirate) and it took 8 months because it was the size of a card table and one day while watching KZbin I saw Mrs Coffee showing one and I ordered my first dac and the rest is history

I got these and used points to bring down the price and a code. I started one of my halloween diamond painting. I have another for the next event you are hosting that begins September 1. I was nervous about starting Happy Jack's Glitter moon because for me its big. It has a lot of color blocking. The confetti areas take a lot of time. I am enjoying it.

I have a barking neighbor's dog that I have to listen to every evening for at least 3 hours! I can definitely sympathize. It drives you a little crazy after a while. I started diamond painting back in 2018 I got a music note from diamond dots it was a small partial. And I didn't do it again for a while and in 2019 I was like what did I do last year and I found the music note so I got a couple of Amazon me and my mom did them. And then in 2020 I found DAC and I guess I've been actually diamond painting since 2020 because I do so many every year. So I guess I'd say I've been diamond painting for 4 years as well but I started before the whole thing wrecked America

🐕 I'm tardy to the party. You kept me company over breakfast on Wednesday this time and while meal prepping lunch the rest of the week. Funds are tight for my family too but that's because my boyfriend has been hardcore saving and just purchased his dream car a couple days ago. Because of Prine Day the extra we had put away got spent on weather proof floor mats ( 5 acres in the middle of OK ) , seat covers, and all the car accessories. 🚗

🐕 Thank you for a look at the new DAC storage tray. I’ve never used trays like these as Elizabeth Ward trays are not easy to get here in the UK and I’ve not bought any of the dupes from Temu, etc. After reading some of the reviews on the Facebook group and seeing some unboxings on KZbin, I used my points and order 2 of these trays earlier today (I agree that they are too expensive and would not have got them if I didn’t have points built up). But it’s great to see a video showing them actually being used. I can’t wait for mine to arrive now. 😊

My answer to how I got started with diamond painting is…August 19, 2023, I feel and broke my humorous bones in 4 places near my shoulder and I couldn’t move it for a couple months while it healed. Being a Cricut crafter, not being able to move my made me unable to line things up and what not. It was like wait a dang minute I can’t NOT craft. So I got my first DP kit and the rest is history! Started sept of 2023. Finishing another as I watch you this morning Katie. I have to agree the DAC storage is too pricey for me. I have this case of bottles from the company that the name escapes me right now, so I have plenty of storage. 😁💕

I feel badly that you feel badly about your neighbor's dog - for me it isn't a bother and most of the time I don't even notice it or it is very faint. You're fine! Good Morning! Thanks for comparing the storage-I will stick with the EW storage, although I think I need a couple more. I also use the artdot “tic tac” containers- they are compact and nice for smaller kits, but id I had more EW, would probably choose those for smaller kits too. Still working on Nativity-the end is in sight and I will finish this week😀. Maybe you could adopt the neighbors dog part time for visits… Have a great week ,🐶🐾🦴😮

As much as I want to try out that type of storage, I am not paying 90 AUD for those. Sorry, DAC! There is a company in Aus where I can buy a hard suitcase-style storage set, with 60 plastic bottles for 30 dollars. I can buy 3 of them for that cost. Starting on S3 of Picard is probably for the best. S1 was okay, S2 was so bad that I almost couldn't finish it. It was all over the place. The neighbors dog... I have pretty severe misophonia, and repetitive dog barking is a major trigger that can induce panic attacks. The howling didn't bother me very much, however. The barking wasn't consistent enough to cause a problem or I would have taken the headphones off and noped away, lol. 🐶

I use a LOT of the smallest Elizabeth Ward containers. They fit most of the colors in each kit. And the price point is a no for me.

I called it! I said I bet d+w will do a comparison of the two containers! We should call you Comparison Katie! I am curious if we will see a change in price for these containers. In Canadian they come to $75 and on Quick Look you can now get 2 EW for $80 these days. I found to pop the lids open you do have to use the pointy end of the tweezers too.

I have tried the Elizabeth Ward and the temu version for $15-20 and they are almost exactly the same. The only difference with the dac version is they changed the direction. If temu can sell them for 15-20; how much money does dac need to make? I fell in love with dac but I have to say they have really disappointed me when it comes to the cost of everything!

I like the look of the storage containers, but I don't like that they sit up on the back like that instead of the side. It makes it harder to have a good spot to put the labels. Especially if they do eventually come out with a smaller container. But otherwise, if they got the cost down, I love that they're selling these!

My back story to starting is my mil got me a wolf kit from Amazon to do in summer 2022 while she had my daughter for 2 week visit she does every summer, as that was my first summer alone as before her son my late husband was with me, he suddenly passed Dec 8, 2021 After she got me kit I got into it.

Do the DAC symbol stickers stick well to the white flap on the containers? I have a tray system and the stickers tend to curl up. I use washi tape, but they still often curl up.
