If you, or any of your subscribers didn’t know, Diana Ankudinova was only 15 years old at the time of her performance of Wicked Game. This vocal competition was called “You Are Super” and took place on May 12, 2019. During this performance some reactors were saying they wondered if Diana Ankudinova was using Auto-Tune during this performance, or some other kind of electronic or mechanical vocal Manipulation. The general consensus of many other reactors, recording sound engineers, and actual vocal professionals, said no. NO auto-tune was added, nor any other form of electronic voice manipulation. What many may not know is this, Diana Ankudinova has learned, mastered, and uses a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing which is a testament to the time and dedication Diana has put into her career at such a young age. This is also an unusual and extraordinary accomplishment for someone this young. A singer that has mastered the polyphonic singing technique can create an additional tone which adds to the harmonic overtones and it makes it sound like more than one voice singing that cause many individuals to mistakenly believe she is using Auto-Tune or some other form of electronic voice manipulation, or pitch correction software when she is not. This performance was her second appearance on the talent show called “You Are Super”, here first appearance was in 2018. The 2019 season ended with Diana Ankudinova winning the “You Are Super” competition after her “Wicked Game” performance. As an aside, in 2017 when she was 13 years old, Diana’s vocal range was first measured and it measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which was unusually low for a 13 year old girl. Diana did not have her vocal range measured again until 5 years later on September 25, 2021 when she was 18 years old. In 2021 her vocal range was again measured and Diana’s functional vocal range now goes from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range). At 14 years old, In 2018, when she first appeared in the “You Are Super” vocal competition and performed a Russian folk song called “Rechenka” in her native Russian language. It was during this 2018 performance of Rechenka that many voice professionals started paying close attention to Diana Ankudinova because she was displaying such a low, rich, deep, resonant sound. The tone and timbre of her voice was way beyond her years in maturity. Many vocal professionals were saying Diana Ankudinova was displaying all the hallmarks of becoming a true contralto voice type, plus her musicality and stage presence was well beyond the ability of the vast majority of 14 year old girls. At the beginning of Diana's Rechenka performance, watch her face, and you can see in her body movements as she submerges herself into this character. It was no surprise when Diana was declared the 2018 “You Are Super” winner, but no one was prepared for the following year in 2019 for the sound she exhibited during her performance of Wicked Game that won her the 2019 “You Are Super” competition! She also recorded some videos done in her home studio during the COVID pandemic lock down that are stripped down, without the major flash, fashion, or production value of her competitions or concerts. Diana was 15 here. She gave two more performances on this 2019 TV show - "Blizzard" and a cover of "Human" (by Rag 'n Bone Man), and both are likewise masterpieces, although her voices in them are different, because as always, she changes her voice to suit the demands of the song. In fact her performances had already been completely "crazy," as you put it, for more than year. To get a sense of the absolute force of nature - and towering genius - that you are getting to know, check out her performance of "Rechenka" when she was 14. It is posted on the YT channel "Kwstas Vagias" as are many of her TV show performances (the originals having been taken down consequent to YT's spat with Russia). It is one of the greatest performances you will ever see!

Дело даже не в низких нотах, а в глубине и объёме звука. А главное в красках которые она придаёт нотам. Певцов много, но Диана рисует нам картины и миры своим голосом как художник кистью. И мы не просто наблюдатели и слушатели, мы погружаемся в её миры- сны как соучастники. И чувствуем её эмоции как собственные. Дело вовсе не в диапазоне голоса и вокальной технике.. хотя Диана работает и над этими аспектами. Дело в том как ей удаётся вовлекать нас в процесс и дотрагиваться до наших душ. Сие тайна. 😊

Dude she was 15 years old when she sang that... You are right you can say nothing to this. The most insane thing is that you would have thought that she was already at her peak but now that she is 20 she is even more powerful, she has an insane range and she is still improving at a ridiculous pace. She just can't be compared with any other female vocalist to the point that people have a hard time on recommending her stuff, i mean what should i recommend you to hear next? Her catalog is huge and everything she sings is a masterpiece... Since the most recent thing she performed that has blown everyone's minds once again is the main theme of the movie "Dune" then you should try that and experience the sheer power and force of her voice now at the age of 20, she was invited to sing it in a Hans Zimmer concert. And she really worked on her high range, too. She is very well known for her lower range, but the high notes she she sings lately, are just insane, especially in the song ''The Day You..'' I like the fact she keeps improving and pushing herself, not necessarily to reach greater popularity, but just to be better at what she does. She might not reach popularity of Mariah Carey, but I think she doesn't care much about it. What we see from her, is a world class performer, very unique and, from what I can see, a very normal and nice human being.
