Goddamn, that medley of Comes Love...brilliant. Wish Diana had kept this kind of blazing fearlessness and sass.

More true swing like Oscar Peterson´s old good Trio recordings with Herb Ellis. Thank you for this performance in Vancover opening the Jazz festival with George Shering. Best regards from Sweden. Welcome back!

Not a real singer, she just whispers. And not a remarcable pianist. She follows the way the system wants: glamour and nothing else.

+jgilvent Not a Real singer... Wow. Not sure who you are listening to. Let me know. Nineteen years later and she sounds better than ever.

as a young jazz muso she swung like crazy and had a unique hip singing style. I agree the older Krall is more commercial and crossed over, still unique, but that groovy jazz cat is still waiting to burst out!

Guess you've never heard of Peggy Lee. Not all great singers have huge voices. Especially in jazz, it's all about style and phrasing and Diana is up there with the best of them.

Diana is a great and wonderful vocal stylist (as opposed to a technically great singer). She comes from the same stylistic place as Julie London and, as someone mentioned, Peggy Lee. The many times I’ve seen her live, her microphone has been louder than it is on this video and her voice was mesmerizing and perfect. I don’t have a problem with the audio mix here, perhaps because I know how she sounds. Maybe try some other videos like Live in Paris ..or any of her recordings. Diana’s voice and style are very much features, not bugs.
