Tyler and PA. I purchased this light little rifle on the preorder back when ? in the 177 version, and it has met all my expectations . I was totally new to the air gun achievements, had a red Ryder late 50 s. It has been a challenge, accuracy is as good as the optics- finally put out for the hawke 4-12 X 50 and it will do a nickel at 42 yards any day with economical Crosman 10.5. The regulator made a big difference in shot count on a 200 bar fill @ 135 bar reg = 17 shots avg 875 fps. Accidentally filled to 220 bar and got 24 on the reg. Not recommended!! Diana and the China has done well with us that are budget minded. This rifle is a serious hunting weapon!!

New idea: Diana STORM-BRINGER/HAMMER. Bigger air cylinder, longer barrel, available in .22/.25/.30 caliber. price it right at/under $300 and you'd have the first $300 big bore. I'd aim at a .30 caliber fps around 850 fps+, however this would give you a total shot count of potentially around 15-25 shots with 10 good ones. and more with .25 and .22. Let's get this through. What y'all think?

Mine arrived yesterday. lightweight lovely little lady. Everything was great single shot tray, trigger is soooo much better then my disco stock trigger. Checkering & blueing also exceeds crossman standards. But sadly i find myself watching magazine videos for this gun as it keeps jamming every 2nd or 3rd shot i have never made it through a full mag. I figure user error dont blame the gun. I gotta figure this out single shot is smooth but i already own a great disco aghhhh!

Thanks, Tyler, for the review. All reviews should include true manufacture country to be considered an independent and complete review. @tylerpatner65917 жыл бұрын
That's not really a fair statement. Diana wouldn't put their name on it if they hadn't vetted it first. The PCP market is trending towards this lower price point and Diana is trying to get a piece of that market. The gun should do quite well and introduce A LOT of new shooters to PCP airguns and that is really what it is all about. I am sure we will see Diana bring a German made PCP back out at some point in the future. But it's a lot easier to get shooters into airguns and PCPs with a $200 price tag versus $600+.
@janolavlohne8797 жыл бұрын
Tyler Patner Ofc its a fair statement. Rebrand is the cheapes simplest way to making a air rifle. Im not saying the rifle is bad because im dont know it. BUT ITS NOT A DIANA AIR RIFLE. No matter how you twist and turn on it... Lets say mercedes buys a Renault. Rebrand it, puts a star on it etc... It will still be a Renault...
@tylerpatner65917 жыл бұрын
I get what you are saying, but there is a distinction to be made....it's not a German Diana...but the gun is still a Diana as they have chosen to put their name on it. Yes, it is re-branding but to say "it has nothing to do with diana air rifles" is the part I am saying is not a fair statement. If it had nothing to do with Diana, it wouldn't bear their name. That's all I'm saying. And at the end of the day, if it brings more shooters into the world of airguns, I am more than happy to see it. And hopefully, it means Diana will get back to a German made PCP in the near future.

Hey guys at Pyramid. I bought this rifle from you guys about a week and a half ago and fired about 30 shots before the bolt handle broke. How do I go about getting a replacement? interesting. considering this for my first pcp. Not sure I understand the curve....best shots from 9-19? the first 8 shots, I'm not understanding how this works in PCP. why the dramatic incline at first. I understand the declining part because of using up air. So you have to shoot 8 before getting fairly consistent shot group. Like I said, I'm new to this
@JoshuaFranzKefkaVolff6 жыл бұрын
My understanding of the reason for the curve on a unregulated PCP rifle is, the sweet spot is right around the mechanical efficiency of the hammer/spring assembly, in this video the hammer has enough energy when striking the valve around 170bar (Reservoir air pressure) to fully open the valve, mind you the valve that keeps the air in the reservoir is held shut by the immense pressure pushing against it, if your familiar with the term "valve lock" that is something that happens when the gun is pressurized well beyond the limit of the hammers ability to open the valve, creating a scenario where the gun will not fire. TLDR the upward swing of FPS is a direct result of the valve becoming easier to open as the pressure on the reservoir side lowers, the downward swing is caused by the pressure going below the optimal range to drive the pellet down the barrel.
@gpecaut16 жыл бұрын
They do make a regulator for this gun. Check Altorus. You will get a flat shot curve until the pressure drops below the regulated pressure. You will also get more shots per fill. The down side is it will cost you around $100. There is also a much better 2 stage trigger available too. Again, it costs $. Considering it costs less than a Disco or Max, and has a wood stock and a repeater (magazine fed) it's a deal, so I just bought 2. One in 177 and one in 22.

@gpecaut16 жыл бұрын
Loads of reviews on this gun. I have over a dozen air pistols, and if I had to choose just one, the Marauder Pistol would be the one. Very tunable, good power, though my Hatsan in 25 has much more power. Good shot count. Reliable magazine function, but the pistol magazine and the Marauder rifle magazine are not the same. Sub 1" 5 shot groups are easily achievable at 50 yards. Mine has a 2-7x scope and bipod mounted on it. I've got the shoulder stock for it. It's a nice carbine set up with it, but I always use it as a pistol. Easy to hand pump. It's killed 100's of rabbits, squirrels, pigeons, starlings, and a raccoon. It can even hit a golf ball at 100 yards. But rarely on the first shot. But it does cost more than the storm rider, and it is less power.

So are all these $200 PCPs the death of break barrels in this price range? You don't have to worry it seems about "artillery hold" Now to get the PCP electric pump prices down to match.... Does Pyramid Air have a trade in program for break barrels to get a PCP?
@tylerpatner65917 жыл бұрын
Rey There are a lot of good points that make a PCP more appealing than a springer/gas piston. I don't know if I'd call the $200 PCP the death of the break barrel though. You have to remember that PCPs require some fill source to shoot, where break barrels are self contained. That's a big factor for a lot of folks. At this time, PA doesn't have any sort of trade in program. But if you're looking to sell a rifle, there are various internet forums and places like gunbroker where you can list items for sale.
@gpecaut16 жыл бұрын
I love my PCP guns, BUT I would never get rid of my break barrel guns either. I have 3 SCBA tanks for shooting trips, and I still run out of air on longer trips. Then the break barrel guns come out. Yes break barrel air guns are harder to shoot accurately compared to PCP guns, but the PCP guns, do change their point of impact as the pressure changes. CO2 is more consistent, but on a hot summer day in Arizona, I fight hammer lock. Most of my PCP guns are 25 Cal and up. My break barrel guns are 177-25 Cal, and I find the 22 Cal break barrel rifles the best. If your last air gun was a BB gun, start with something like a Crossman Vantage in 22 or 177. Good quality for the price, capable of 1" groups at 50 yards. You won't need all the PCP gear (tanks, pumps, fill whips). The break barrel is always ready to use. Plenty of velocity even in 22. They're kind of like an old Timex. They take a licking and keep on ticking.

@gpecaut16 жыл бұрын
Actually it's getting hard to find a 22 rim fire for under $100. Then comes the ammo. 22 rim fire isn't$1.00 for 50 anymore, if you can even find it. Pellets cost about 1/5-1/10th as much, and can be found at Walmart or mail ordered. In a city, you can't practice in your back yard with a 22 rim fire, but you can shoot 1000's of pellets. A $100 22 rim fire rifle might be lucky to give you a 3" group at 50 yards. Most of these air rifles will shoot sub 1" at 50 yards with the right pellet. Lastly, many men have ex-wife that got a restraining order, or falsely claimed abuse, and can no longer have a fire arm, but they can have an air gun. Lastly, they (air guns) are fun. You can even get a fully automatic machine gun/air gun and not spend all the money and headaches of getting your license for a machine gun. When you take the cost of ammo, travel and range membership costs and add them to the cost of that old 22 rim fire, air gun shooting costs less, you will shoot it more, and with the extra practice, be able to hit more with a $200 air gun. Many of us air gunners have fire arms too. We have the air guns so we can get more practice in and the money saved covers the cost of the air gun. Air guns are a great way to introduce kids or your wife to the shooting sports. They are quieter, and not as scary to most who have never shot a gun. Join an air gun club near you. The different disciplines, from 10 meter target, bench rest, field target, silhouette, etc will help you decide what you like.

Weak power for a pcp.
@gpecaut16 жыл бұрын
Not really. While PCP rifles can have more power, some people want higher shot counts, and more velocity does not mean more accuracy. Some countries limit power to as little as 12 foot pounds. Some of the best rabbit hunting air rifles are maxed out at just under 12 foot pounds. I haven't seen much about tuning these yet, but I'm sure by next year there will be many that have tuned these for Max shot count, max velocity, and max accuracy. And I am sure all these mods will be shooting at different velocities, different energy levels, and different group sizes. This is a very low cost basic rifle for a first PCP. Under $300 with a hand pump! Mods are already in the works from better triggers, suppressors, regulators, both vented and non-vented, and barrels. This is everything a Disco was when it came out and more, at a lower cost. It should be a great platform for learning to tune and modify a PCP. You may also think of it as a carbine, because of it's small size with a full length pull. Its light weight and short length should make it an excellent rifle for squirrel hunting in the woods. I"m sure these economy PCPs are going to take a large number of rabbits, squirrels, and pigeons. Throw a Bug Buster 3-9 on one of these and you have a very light, short, quick handling hunting rig.

I think it´s just a testing PCP from Diana! I would´t buy these because small air tank and almost no power. Come on , Diana can do better !!

Carsten i would say if your hunting with an air rifle and 22 plus FT/LBS won't due,it's not power but rather common sense thats lacking.
