I'm a 47 year old man that wept like a child when I heard about Gord's cancer....saw them play in tiny bars when I was going to school in Kingston...they were just kids themselves...I can't say how grateful I am for the decades of music and laughter I shared to their music. This is so beautiful. There is so much joy on the stage and how fitting is this song for Gord? I love how he keeps trying to back up, it's not his band and he doesn't want to take away from them but they keep bringing him forward. They are so gentle with him.

Sadly, w/ the cancer he has... He may have been confused or forgetting where he was (depending on how far along the cancer is)... Kinda reminds me of the last pics of Freddie Mercury-very gaunt and fading away. The thing that made me smile was that Gord is surrounded by fellow musicians who love and support him.

I was fortunate to have seen The Hip twice, once at the “DTE Music Theatre” outside of Detroit which is basically the same venue as the “Molson Canadian Amphitheatre” in Toronto which is half in doors & outdoors + i seen them in Stratford,Ontario for a beautiful 3 day festival & it was so surreal seeing one of my favourite Canadian bands only 15-20mins from my hometown of St.Marys,Ontario. I’m a HUGE “Hip” & “54•40” fan 🎶

*Legendary Film!* I'm a big fan of music that has a working class average joe vibe to it. That's my kind of aesthetic and you know what, wanna hear something weird? People have been calling me "Gord Downie" my entire life and I don't know why. I'll be out in public and someone will holler "Hey, that's Gord Downie!" or sometimes they'll casually inquire "Hey, is that Gord Downie?", and quite often, upon being introduced to me, folks will pull the person that introduced us to the side and murmur, "Hey, this Gord's a Downie!"
