Elguason Nosaugle Bro, the Toho producers officially made the creature "Zilla" once they took back the rights of the movie because they said Emmerich took the "God" out "Godzilla". Anything official by Toho is cannon. The 1998 creature is officially a different monster in the Toho kingdom and it's officially named "Zilla" now. They changed the name a few days, weeks, or months after the movie came out into theaters.

"Zilla" is not anyway related to Godzilla but he is in the Toho kingdom along with every other Toho monster (Toho made it clear that "Zilla is a completely separate monster). I'm not in anyway trying to sound harsh but those are the facts, buddy. *Also, a lot of G fans like that same "shit" and that's what maintained Godzilla and made him into an iconic monster. He was and still is a metaphor for the dangers for Nuclear weapons, what do you expect. Godzilla is suppose to be a walking nuclear time bomb which has always been one of his trademarks. You take that Nuclear Radiation element away Godzilla can no longer be "Godzilla" anymore even if you still have that iconic roar. Again I'm seriously not trying to be harsh and I'm glad that you are at you are a fan of the original godzilla but you have to understand what made Godzilla into a popular monster icon with each element that the Toho studios have imputed in him to make him "Godzilla" even if you get really tired of that same *shit*.You can't just strip that one Element from a specific character and expect the character to be the same as before. It'll be just like Superman without his heat vision even though he still has super strength.

I'm not trying to pick a fight ether. Let's just say this is just a mature conversation about our thoughts of "Zilla". Hell, I even like "Zilla 98" too but I like it as it's own monster movie. There are people who like to pick on things they don't really like (Everyone does that but others like to do it in a idiotic way which is where the "bashing" comes in). -It was made in 1998 so of course the date would pop up. Also, The Toho Kindgom (in the godzilla universe in this case) is made up of every Toho monster that they ever made. Toho getting the rights to "Zilla 1998" made "Zilla" apart of the "Toho Kindom". That's probably why you see him pop up. Ether that or it's probably because it's still in the "Godzilla Collection" **shrugs** -Emmerich stripped both Godzilla's character and looks away. Zilla ran away from the army While Godzilla can easily destroy the army with a stump of his foot which makes it clear that you just can not mess with Godzilla. They easily killed Zilla when Godzilla is unstoppable. If Godzilla was real he'd probably look more like a crocodile combined with a dinosaur that would hunch down a little.(Godzilla's not even a iguana ether so I have no idea where they came up with that fact). -If you talking about the sequels that were suppose to be made after that movie Toho ended up taking the rights to that movie away from them preventing Emmerich from making sequels or preventing him from continuously working on "Zilla 1998". Change can be "bad" or "good". It really depends one's point of view that person has on a certain situation. One person can see it as a bad change and the other person can see it as a good change. If you see it as a good change than good but there are other people that have different thoughts about it. Well then, I hope this helps you. If it doesn't I don't know what else to say, dude.

Elguason Nosaugle Actually ether Toho excepted the design or just walk away. Toho didn't want to waste any money so he excepted it. There's a reason why they said they put the "God" out of Godzilla. They did imply the fact that spirit of Godzilla wasn't there because Zilla didn't act like the true Godzilla was at all and it didn't have any characteristics of Godzilla. It ran away from the army which Godzilla would never do, instead he would have crushed the army. It didn't show it's indestructible strength that Godzilla has. It was easily beaten by missiles that Godzilla wouldn't have been effected by. Satsuma (one of the actors who played Godzilla in the suite) indeed said, "it's not Godzilla, it doesn't have his spirit" after he walked out of the movie theater halfway into the movie. The first design they did was nice until Ronald Emmerich came into the production.

In all honesty, both movies had issues. The 2014 at least gave us fights(brief as they were) and a Godzilla design that was at least more honorable to the original. I liked 98's godzilla design as well, but i never really felt like that was godzilla. Unfortunately, everything else was so laughably bad and 2014 at least had SOME good actors. Also, the new one at least had good buildup, despite its shitty payoffs(Fuck that TV cutaway after Godzilla's first appearance). But if I had to choose, I'd say 2014 was better. Still neither of them come close to final wars or G2000

when i watched the 1998 movie i thought it was good, but i didn't think he looked the way i wanted or expected. the 2014 movie is perhaps the worst movie i have seen in a long time..i really don't care about everyone's problems in the movie, to the extent that it takes up the entire film...i stopped watching it with about 20 minutes left, and still didn't really see Godzilla...what a disappointment .
