Wow-so much information but great presentation! The decision to go with something like this would not be easy. Seems the technology needs some time to mature.

Would someone who has unilateral phrenic nerve paralysis be a good candidate? My mother is currently recovering from crazy pneumonia that led to ARDS, and her diaphragm being partially paralyzed has made recovery slow. Not impossible, but slow. She’s getting her trach tomorrow so she can get out of the hospital, YAY🎉

Thank you for sharing some of your mom's story with me. I am sorry she has gone through so much. She would need to be evaluated by a physician to determine her eligibility. I hope everything goes well with the trach. All my best to you and your mom.

Thank you for the question. The child will need to be evaluated by a doctor to decide if a pacemaker will work.

You are mixing information from two different manufactures of diaphragm pacemakers and your presentation is misleading. At 1:21 of this episode, you state two leads/electrodes are placed on the right and left phrenic nerves. This is incorrect. The leads/electrodes from that device are placed in the diaphragm muscle directly and not attached to the phrenic nerve. If you intend to present accurate information, I suggest you differentiate the different devices that are available.

@@jeffthompson7428 Ok. I do not believe I mentioned the Cleveland Clinic or any medical institute in my video. I am sorry if you thought I did.
