@@mylastbraincell6522 it would be. No sun means that we aren't circling it anymore. This means Earth would essentially just shoot off into interstellar space. If we somehow didn't collide with anything we would all freeze to death because the planets temperature would drop to lethal levels. If somehow the previous 2 things didn't happen then we would starve to death because no sun for growing crops. Basically for the small amount of time we'd have remaining the entire planet would descend into chaos. There would be no one to keep the peace because most armies and police forces would lose most of its personnel. People would kill and steal until the entire planet dies.

I'm still wondering how Rowley was able to not only meet up with Greg but also able to gather a squad of neighbor kids. No sun means no light at all. Everything would be pitch black. Not only that, but also those kids will die from the cold, no sun also means no energy or heat, which means the whole planet's going to be colder than winter in Antarctica.

Its funny how nobody talks about what the sun disappearing would actually do. If it did, Earth would completely lose its orbit, we wouldn't have any more seasons, and a lot more would happen than what's shown. It's like they just treat the sun as a png in the sky that lights everything up, and don't attent the fact that the sun is a real star and it just popping out of existence would do a lot more than shown here, but monsters wouldn't appear out of nowhere.
