Lol at Grahams decision making in this series. Feels wild but very much following a goblin's thought process

Dale, you are such a cool DM. I am learning a lot of things that I should be doing as a DM (I am trying to make a campaign and it will be my first, so I am very grateful) such as saying "yes, and", and incorporating other improvisation skills, and supporting the decisions that the players make, even if they leave behind cool things such as the monochrome elf and the door with what I think is just hiding a room filled with that gold liquid that would spill out and stain all the players. Thanks for being awesome, and I can't wait for the next episode!

Dale has the best descriptions. I'm kind of sad Snak railroaded everyone into the teleporter. Either the door or the pod seemed like much more interesting options.
@Zara-Bari7 жыл бұрын
I didn't think that UNTIL they went into the teleporter. Up to that point I was like "I think two options are death and the third one is the teleporter." But the second Snak went for the teleporter, I was like "But what if those options were NOT death?"
@daleEfriesen7 жыл бұрын
Not one of the options was instant death, but each of them was bad (in a completely different way).

I suppose this is metagaming, but a good GM (which you are) would never spring a surprise TPK. So when presented with choices in a game I always go with the most fun or interesting, as opposed to the safest, under the assumption that I'm going to have a path to success in any case.
@daleEfriesen7 жыл бұрын
While I have no intention of springing a surprise TPK, I think that there's a fairly wide distance between on the one hand not killing everybody instantly and on the other hand providing them with a path to success. :) Regardless, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the game.
@castlewise7 жыл бұрын
I guess it doesn't have to be a very wide path :) More broadly speaking, everyone is at the table to play D&D and I assume that there will be more D&D behind whichever door you pick. Even if from a character perspective it might have been less traumatizing to just stay in jail.

Dale, thank you for not killing their characters, at least yet. I really like the players, as they're part of my support system, and I want them to have fun, too. They seem to be enjoying these characters, and have invested a lot in them, already. Looking forward to more, and if I'm ever free on Monday evening, I'll try to join you, for your live session. And I'm glad you're having so much fun, too, and get to work with these people. :)

Roughly an hour in and the only blemish on my enjoyment is that Beej was disadvantaged from the first fluid-drain but has rolled another Con save against fluid-drain (granted he can't roll higher with disadvantage and that was a failure) and a Dex save to fall right-side up without accounting for the disadvantage. Does disadvantage apply to death saves? If not, Beej totally luck-sacked. I think this leg of the adventure out to be called "Plumbing the Craw;" this reminds me of a fusion of Mario and Abadox. "If you want information, you should touch it; if you want lots of information, you should lick it!"
@OfilthO7 жыл бұрын
1 level of exhaustion only infers a disadvantage to checks not saves. so any death saves, con saves are fine. if he tried acrobatics or athletics he would be fucked as they are at disadvantage. the second point simply halves his movement.
