I was watching this with my daughter. As we saw who was going to be the players, she went: "Aww, Kathleen's not in it." Then we see who is DMing and her eyes just light up. "Is she going to be Morra?" she asks. "No, she'll be the DM." I reply, but lo and behold, then next thing you know, Morra is a camp counselot. So, the thing you need to know here is that my daughter absolutely LOVED Morra in Dice Friends 1. I mean, I think she thinks Morra is as cool as Morra would like to think she is. In our home game, my daughter rolled a teenage elf, nicknamed "Buzz" (short for Basilia), a rogue. Not only that, but she also wants to DM, and seeing Kathleen doing it so well had her enthralled for the whole session. I guess the TL;DR is Kathleen is kind of what made my daughter really interested in D&D, and she is absolutely loving this new campaign/arc, and I think it is encouraging her to both play, and one day DM D&D.

Kivipaperisakset When I saw it was Kathleen and all the characters were preteens I knew it wouldn't be combat focused which is a score for me personally.

I gotta say a summer camp dnd scenario is the most unique and interesting I've seen. They're all usually dystopian fantasy this game s fressh.

Not gonna lie. I would love to play a summer camp d&d campaign with my friends. A paladin who is always saying "My mom says we shouldn't do that" it's less of a code of ethics and more of being a mammas boy

Yeah. I was happily surprised. There's also something wonderfully anachronistic and silly about this campaign that I'm just loving.

Why would you be surprised that a professional writer and improvisational comedian would be a great DM? This is literally her day job.
@Tr1sh4Lynn3 жыл бұрын
@@Sarcasticron Because while DMing does have things in common with writing and improv, I believe that there are also additional skill sets that DMs have which writers and improvisers do not, like how to balance a group of players. Maybe the improvisers have it, though.

This is such an excellent change of pace. I'm really happy that you all are keeping up with the cycling levels of interest. Kathleen, you are an excellent gem and beautifully accompanied by Serge, Alex, Ben and Cameron! I love your interpretation of elven culture and all of the constant jabs at summer camp tropes. I really hope 'outfit messiness' is the form of hitpoints for this campaign. Maybe add in things like bugbites, poison ivy. Ulrica is obviously the tank because she'd care the least about getting gross and dirty... but even she has her limits (Latrines)! Keep up the excellent tabletop, love listening on my commute!

I figured that it would be up the Dessarin river a bit. Maybe on the edge of the Ardeep forest. That way it's outside of Waterdeep a few day's travel, but it's still in the relative safety of the city's territory.

Already saw the VOD of this on twitch and wished I'd been able to catch it live because of how good it is. I did have a useless fact to share for the track description though. Normal walking or running gate has the heel hit the ground first the center of gravity to shift forward over the foot and then ends with pushing off the toes. It's the most natural way for a bipedal frame to move to keep balance so if the kid was snathed up into the area in mid step there would be a heel print only not toe only. Having only the toes showing does work if the camper stumbled forward and was snatched up in the air before they could fall fully or regain their balance or if their were already hurt in a way that affect how they walked. I don't think Kathleen was trying to imply either situation though. It's not something most people would notice though I think because how to walk is not something people give much thought too but I had to go through gate training in junior high and that useless face is now in my head so I figured might as well share it.

You can, but you have to immediately end concentration on your old spell before concentrating on a new spell, so the effects don't overlap.

I recently took over DMing a campaign set in the Forgotten Realms (the central conceit is pretty similar to the way "Murder on the Semolo Plateau" relates to "Escape from Semolo Plateau": an intrepid band of adventurers save the world, and then a bunch of Everymen get to deal with the aftermath, with a little Jorge L. Borges thrown in because both Cam and I are pretentious AF) and to give myself some context I decided that the events of EfSP and MotSP were at least roughly concurrent with the events in my campaign. This story might well ruin my dreams of a Grand Unified Canon! I can deal with voluntourism to Chult, but summer camps in Western Faerun might be hard to integrate.
@JaapZeldenrust6 жыл бұрын
No, I can work with this, I think (38 min in)
@JaapZeldenrust6 жыл бұрын
Okay, lifestyle magazines about necromancer gardens, published across continents, that might be a problem. Maybe if these are the adventures of the obscenely rich... That makes Mora even more of a monster for her time in Chult, though.

It was today years after this video was uploaded that I realized that Peloton is spelled like the exercise bike and a mill (as in Milltail), like the pedals of an exercise bike such as a Peloton, also rotates around an axle while staying in place.
