This was a fun series to watch. I did something similar with my E82 128i basically making a narrowbody 1M and doing some hop ups to the N52. It's fun to go out for a cruise or track time with people who don't know what it's capable of and see their reaction afterwards. There's a lot to like in the 'lower spec' BMW cars, they just need a little help to be the weapons they are capable of being.

I really enjoyed this series. I have a 2016 228i, I feel like it would be a rocket because of the lighter weight. I'm guessing that most of these suspension mods might also fit a f22 chassis? I've been really interested in the MHI Turbo swap for a while - mostly to shift the power band up and not overheat. I would idealy not want too much low down torque to protect the rods. My car is very well maintained, it has just under 40 000km at the moment, it only really gets driven over longer distances and weekends. I love it, but sometimes I wonder about that turbo swap. Again great series guys, thank you.

While it is a truly fascinating project that is refreshingly different from everything else out there, there’s a reason why it’s not that popular of a build platform, and that is the bang for your buck. BMWs have become the best bang for buck car these days, that is of course if you don’t mind some wrenching. Assuming $30k with the price of the car used, you could get an E90 335i with a stick, slap a single turbo on it, do the same maintenance like this F30 and you have a car with just as good handling and looks but with an extra 300hp and a sweeter exhaust note.

Fun series to watch but let's be real here. An F30 N20/N26 car is never EVER nor will EVER be a good platform or a financially sound purchase. I should know. Made that mistake. For the money spent just buy a late one with the B48. Please don't risk bankruptcy with this platform. Please don't. We'll skip the crappy build quality. That's well known. A Mazda 3 feels more luxurious than an F30. Nevermind you didn't take the time to find a proper manual example. Sorry but people like me with the knowledge and experience are going to speak up. An F30 will never ever be an E30 in the future. It's basically the modern day E36. Cheap and half baked.
