Amex! Thank you Dayana for sharing your take on the new Amex Gold Card. I had this card and cancelled it in February because I wasn’t able to take advantage of the 4x for supermarkets as well as the Uber and dining credits. I ended up applying for the Green Card as well as the Citi Strata Premier which gives you 3x dining and supermarkets along with EV charging and gas. As for the White Gold, I didn’t get it for the Business Gold card. It came in 5 days. But unfortunately that card is cancelled because they raised the fee from $295 to $375 and it’s not worth it to me. Thanks again for an awesome video! Take care!

Yeah, it’s not worth keeping if you have two other cards that cover the same spending categories. Instead of paying $375 for the Amex Gold, you’re paying $245 for two cards with a lower combined annual fee and more benefits. 🔥

What about the usbank altitude go card which I do have it offer 4 % on dining and 2 percent on gas and groceries and a sign on bonus..I almost forgot the 5 percent on hotels and car rental @Dayana?

Thank you, for your detailed review of the changes to the American Express "Gold" card. Last time that, I owned this charge card was back in the 1980's, when the annual fee was around $75. At the present time, I am using the American Express business "Plum" card. Each month, I receive a 1.5 percent statement credit (at my current $1,000 per month spending amount this equates to around $15 per month) which, helps to lower my $250 annual fee (smile ... smile).

Putting in a little bit of work to use the monthly credits to MAKE money for having a premium American Express credit card is definitely worth it for me. Yeah id rather keep the $250 fee, but with the Dunkin credits this card is now more valuable to me then before being I normally go to Dunkin a couple times a month at least.

Amex! I downgraded my Gold card to the Green card with a downgrade offer. I did it because i don't want to pay the higher annual fee of $325 especially since I have the Capital One Savor One card.

I feel like the Amex gold should have 5X multipliers instead of 4. Most people probably won’t even use half of those statement credits because it takes too much effort to keep track of.

If you cancel the card and it's your oldest accounts yes it will alter your credit score. If it's a newer account and you have older credit accounts it will have minimal to no effect on your score. Downgrading doesn't change anything on the account or your score.

Hey, canceling a credit card can impact your credit score, but how much it affects you depends on things like how many other credit accounts you have and how old those accounts are. On the other hand, downgrading a credit card usually doesn’t affect your credit score at all.

Man I earn like crazy with the gold card. I don’t need credits to get value. I value those as icing on the cake for my situation. I spend $1k-$1200 a month in groceries plus roughly $600 in dinning. That’s easy 70k plus points and then I add Rakuten to my insta cart and that’s an additional 25k-28k points. 🤷‍♂️. That puts me over 100k points annually. Seems like a win win to me. I guess if hype is what you’re after then yea you won’t see any value. If you have actual spend then you can’t go wrong with the multiplier. To each their own I guess.

No, I’m staying because honestly between buying my groceries and my dad we have two households between us and also eating out habits i am a major foodie it more than pays for itself even with milk bar, which I ordered my birthday cake from, and they actually did credit me credit for my cake for my birthday this month also I just realized that they still give me my Uber credit if anything I’m gonna go to platinum. I think I’m going to add to my business account though platinum card. I think it has great benefits cause I do travel a lot too. I’m gonna wait until next year for platinum the once I’m generating a little bit more revenue but thank you for the video. It’s awesome. I need to do the Resy because I forgot to do the resy and my card for my restaurants.

#Amex I try to avoid cards that have an annual fee. My oldest card has an annual fee, and if it weren't so important to my credit age, I would have canceled it a long time ago. 😊
