Regarding the 4.2% on SoFi’s HYSA, the statement, “as long as you get paid by direct deposit OR add $5,000 or more every 30 days,” does that mean if I direct deposit any amount I will get the 4.2%? Or does it have to be direct deposits totaling $5,000+ every 30 days?
@DayanaPlaysКүн бұрын
Hey, according to their site, there's no minimum direct deposit amount required to earn the highest savings APY. So any amount counts, for example $1, $5, $10, etc. You can verify the info here: support.sofi.com/hc/en-us/articles/4423866727949-How-do-I-get-the-highest-savings-APY

A card that taps into your home equity that requires home ownership, isnt that obvious? Why would someone who isnt a homeowner be interested or even attempt to apply?

I have the More Rewards with 30K CL. AMEX Green is similar to this but they have a $150 annual fee and the Blue Cash Everyday doesn’t have the 3X on restaurant and food delivery like the More Rewards. Plus the More Rewards by NFCU has a 300.

Great video Dayana! I have received an offer in the mail and the APR says between 24.24%-26.24%, however in the fine print it states that depending on credit worthiness they add between 15.74%-17.74% onto the prime rate...I think my credit score may be close to yours, but does this mean I could potentially be paying like 43% APR?

This is why I like Atlas better. They give you a small limit to begin with and report to credit bureaus every month on the 10th. I use it as if it was my debit card.

So been with USAA a long time. Have everything through them except my mortgage. I've always loved them. My all time favorite bank. What if i were to do a bankruptcy? Can they/would they drop me? I have an unsecured loan with them & also a cc. Both with balances. Did have tip-top credit. Right at the top. Problem is this... Turned in our palace of a motorhome about a year after my husband's death (different financial institution) & they finally sold it. My credit has dropped to the low 600s. Never been late with anything anywhere in 18 years. I am kinda old, but I have alot I still want to do! I want to buy another house in a couple years & I want to take an online educational course to help me start one of my many business ideas. All the advice says do it! Asap! But I'm afraid! I always pay everything & would hate to be considered someone a creditor couldn't trust. Any advice?

I understand the 2000 satisfies the payment but If the 400 monthly payment is interest you put the 2000 into the card leaving 8000 how do you net + 400 in cash flow on the card if you spend another 2000? Wouldn’t the 400 be expended as interest? Well maybe not all 400 but most of it.
@Allamericanathletes5410 күн бұрын
Yes this method would work on a 0% or very low interest card.
@bobsmith35603 күн бұрын
You are right. The numbers do not add up. If you deposit 2k and then spend another 2k the total debt for the month stays at the original 10k.
@Jesus-o7v9x9 сағат бұрын
@@bobsmith3560Wrong. Interest is charged on the average daily balance. So putting 2,000 into the credit card lowers average daily balance. So you're pulling money out slowly. This is just for you to get the idea. If you put 2,000 in the balance is now 8,000. So you get charged interest on 8,000, not 10,000. 8K: 166.67 interest owed 10K: 208.33 interest owed. The difference is 41.66 in interest saved. Again, I oversimplified it just so you can see the mechanism. Let me know if this helped.

I am not surprised to see Wells Fargo on the list of worst banks. They consistently charge me that $10 a month service fee, even if my balance is over the $500 required amount for most of the month. It’s disgusting to be charged such a high amount every month just to hold my money. I am not in the country at the moment, so I can’t close the account, but the second I’m back, you better believe they’re history. In the meantime, I’ll check out SoFi! Sounds pretty good. Thanks for the recommendations 👍

I’m confused or maybe I’m not understanding correctly. If he is already $10,000 in debt and he spends an additional $2,000 for a month in expenses, then pays $2,000, won’t he still have the initial $10,000?
@DayanaPlays11 күн бұрын
His expenses outside of rent are $2,000, which he’ll put on his credit card. By putting it on his card, he’ll automatically satisfy his $400 monthly credit card payment, eliminating that expense altogether. This brings his expenses down to just $1,600 per month. So, in the first month, his balance will drop from $10,000 to $9,600. Hope that clears things up! 😊
