IMO This mess of “having sex to feel intimate” is a classic sign of someone who does not know how to be emotionally available or have boundaries. She craves being seen on an emotional level, so he goes after guys who she thinks can do that. The problem is that she can talk about her trauma and be emotional, but she doesn’t know how to forge emotional bonds with her partners. What ends up happening is she fills in all the blanks with fantasies of intimacy, when in reality she is having a convo with herself and a man happens to be there. Sex then becomes a way of making the other person feel close to her, while she gets to avoid becoming emotionally invested. Eventually, she tells herself that they don’t even care about her, they just want sex from her, etc etc and she goes and repeats the cycle. At her core, I think she thinks she wants a relationship/true love. In fact, I am confident that she believes that’s *all* she wants. But in reality, without doing any of the work to have a healthy relationship, what she wants is the excitement of being wanted. She’s emotionally avoidant and is, unfortunately, making it everybody else’s problem.
