If we can get to 3.5-4 yards a carry we can be fine. Making 3rd downs less than 4 yards is what we need to do. To many 3rd and longs we need shorter 3rd downs so we can just keep moving the ball like Vandy did with Alabama. We don’t need to be super explosive or need 5 years a carry we just need to do a little better and move forward not backwards. No turnovers and this defense will keep us in the game and give us a chance to win. And that’s something we can do to any team in the country right now. Might not be the prettiest but we are a lot closer to being a contender than people think. BOOMER

Gotta take a few shots down the field though or the Texas defense will put 7 guys up front, and even a good oline can't win those battles even if the TEs can block. Hopefully things start clicking with the oline like it did at Auburn in the 2nd half. If not Hawkins will have to be Michael Vick, Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson to move the ball. Ja son needs to be ready and focused if he has to play because Hawkins will have to run a lot.

Jacobe is gonna be great at some deep digs and curl routes, have him come back for the ball and can have it a 50/50 jump ball if need to on a double move if he’s in a 1on1. But he’s super athletic and a ball hawk he will go up and high point the football! Thought he was better WR than DB in HS but obviously with that type of athlete you need more DB than WRs so they made him a DB doesn’t mean he couldn’t play WR if anything he’s gonna be better cause he’s gotten more physical and knows the defense now. Lets go!

I think BV does what Vandy did some and goes back to just playing simple football on offense, go back to some power run. Would be great to see. Stack the box with blockers and run it down their throat with Barnes. They stack the box we throw it, with this we only need 1 or 2 WRs as well so since we are low on WR these types of plays would help us even more.

Hate to say it but I see it clearly. This OU defensive squad is good. Very good. They’re not great and nowhere near it. They are slipping week by week. Pass coverage soft as warm butter. Seeing signs of an improved pass rush just easily neutralized with a decent run game. Which is what we will get this Saturday. I expect to see our offensive continuity improve to a clear degree , but as the trending with seasons go this defense is in serious trouble this weekend. If the defense doesn’t play with fire and determination it’s going to be a major disappointment. It’s going to take more than a magic trick.

Just keep getting the first down first down first down first down that’s it run the ball first down run the ball first down. If you can get enough first downs by running the ball you keep the clock moving and you keep the other team off the field kind of like army did us one time and almost got us, they kept us off the field for 45 minutes I think and we only had 15 minutes with the ball something like that happened to Alabama Carol mentioned that Vanderbilt kept Bama off the field.
