Great Clipping Curt! Has there ever been a discussion between Dr. H and Dr. Nick Lane? It would be cool to see how the “aromatic rings” correlate to the “electrical” aspects of organic chemistry. Have a great weekend!

Many thanks! A very important topic and an interesting discussion for an open global brainstorm. The problem of understanding the phenomenon of consciousness is a metaphysical/ontological problem, the problem of constructing a dialectical-ontological basis of knowledge - the Primordial (original) generating structure. The mystery of consciousness → in the mystery of the meaning of primordial tension of Cosmos. The mystery of meaning → in the mystery of time. The mystery of time → in the mystery of number. The mystery of number → in the mystery of rhythm. The mystery of rhythm → in the mystery of space. The mystery of space → in the mystery of matter. The mystery of matter → in the mystery of "coincidence of ontological opposites". The mystery of the "coincidence of ontological opposites" → in the mystery of the "Logos" ("Meta-Law", "Absolute Law"). The mystery of the "Logos" → in the mystery of the Primordial (absolute) generating structure. The mystery of the Primordial (absolute) generating structure → in the mystery of the Ontological (cosmic, structural) memory. Ontological (cosmic, structural) memory is "soul of matter", its measure, the semantic core of the conceptual structure of the existence of the Universe as an eternal holistic process of generating more and more new meanings, forms and structures. Ontological (structural. cosmic) memory is that "nothing" that holds, preserves, develops and directs matter (enteleschia, nous, Aristotle's "prime mover"). Consciousness is an absolute (unconditional) attractor of meanings. Meaning is the unconditional foundation of the existence of the Universe. Consciousness is a qualitative vector/bivector value. Consciousness is a univalent phenomenon of ontological (structural, cosmic) memory, which manifests itself at a certain level of being of the Universe as an eternal holistic process of generating meanings, forms and structures. Consciousness is a "tool" of ontological (structural, cosmic) memory, its semantic "radar". Evolution is an eternal process of accumulation of memory. More than a quarter of a century ago, the mathematician and philosopher Vasily Nalimov set the super-task of building a "super-unified field theory that describes both physical and semantic manifestations of the World" - the creation of a model of the "Self-Aware Universe" (V. Nalimov, 1996). In the same direction, the ideas of the Nobel laureate in physics Brian Josephson (which are not very noticed by mainstream science), set out in the essay "On the Fundamentality of Meaning" (2018). Fundamental science requires a Big Ontological revolution in the metaphysical / ontological basis. Physics must move from the stage "Phenomenological physics" to the stage "Ontological physics". The paradigm of the Universe as a WHOLE must come to the aid of the “part paradigm” that dominates science. The New Information Revolution is also pushing for this. J.A. Wheeler: "To my mind there must be, at the bottom of it all, not an equation, but an utterly simple idea. And to me that idea, when we discover it, will be so compelling, so inevitable, that we will say to one another, 'Oh, how beautiful.' How could it have been otherwise?'" Pierre Teilhard de Chardin: "The true physics is that which will, one day, achieve the inclusion of man in his wholeness in a coherent picture of the world." A.N. Whitehead: "A precise language must await a completed metaphysical knowledge."

What came first infinite or finite? Once again logically, finite can't increase to cause the effect of infinite, but, infinite can decrease to cause the effect of finite.❤❤❤

For me - God or the Universe (or Multiverse) is conscious awareness, and therefore came first. When it comes to humans procreating, life comes first and then the spirit, or conscious awareness, inhabits the foetus at some time before birth. I have heard 2 women talk about seeing the spirit of their unborn child (as a white light) entering their body before birth 🤍✨

Hey Curt. I know this isn’t the correct thread but I will give it a shot. I have a question that I would like you to consider asking Richard Dolan. In the famous Maury Island incident Richard stated that there was a lot of strange things going on BEFORE the encounter. Well, what were they??? Thanks :)

If, as Hoffman postulates, time and space are doomed, then maybe the question, which came first, doesn't really apply. But I suspect conscience is fundamental.

If brain jelly will eventually develop to something that can be a substrate for consciousness (this won't be a Turing machine!) then this will become an ultimate victory over Time and Death.

Awareness is first that is void and empty. Consciousness is next that has five senses developed. Then your mind with identity. The same in external universe. Inniverse Vs Universe Vs multiverse!

What came first death or life? Simple Spock retorts! Death can't experience life but life can experience death. Logically as an ABSOLUTE TRUTH, life came first.

The premise of the question is quite strange... Before you were born there was nothing and when your life began you started co-existing with awareness and the world around you. But these kinds of things are hard to put into words and it depends on if you are an idealist or a materialist, an idealist looks purely at direct experience while materialism is based on alot of inference namely that there existed a world before you were born and that will go on after you die. The big take away here is that the universe is deeply mysterious at its core.

I like the phrase "mutually arising". It's the answer to whether the chicken or the egg came first. I feel like it's the answer to the mind body problem. But I'm not an expert!

What you've written assumes that your consciousness is a distinct object in reality. However from a chemical perspective, you've been alive for billions of years. Life has been a billion years long series of dominoes falling.

What's odd to me are parallels such that, before the begining of the universe there was nothing. Before the begining of the individuals life, there was nothing. From that individuals perspective, the time between the big bang and one's birth = 0 seconds. Suggesting maybe that, the universe we experience, Is only that. An experience, created at the moment of birth, within our perception. We are made of the universe itself after all

Brahman was the last non human incarnation of God, known in the west as the centaur (half bull, not centhippus) Chiron, where the Chi Rho christogram really came from. Why do you think the bloodiest human religions celebrated sacrificing the celestial bull and ruthlessly destroyed the last center of pagan Christianity, the Serapeum of Alexandria? Blood and sex magic were always the spiritual lollipops of the adversary, whether feeding Luciferian or Lilithian blood lines with spiritual energy stolen from their victims forcibly in secret or under false pretenses using mind control manipulation

His theory can't explain a single conscious experience. Not one. As far as the Hard Problem is concerned, it is useless. There is not a single conscious experience that can be deduced, in principle, from the theory.

Neither? What came first? All 3. A non conscious non intelligent non being caused the effect of B conscious intelligent being in the universe This is a contradiction and only the opposite can be true A God is an ABSOLUTE and must exist to cause the effect of A conscious intelligent being in the universe

Total bs... things can happen without any conscious motivation. Reflexes are a good example of that... they happen before any intention to be formed. You don't even have time to be happy or sad, you react before your consciousness can register anything.

Yes, this is just a lecture to promote "Orchestrated objective reduction". Because consciousness is hard to describe, according to the lecturer, neurons aren't a good model but entangled microtubles are.

@@ablatt89 Well, Penrose is desperate to believe that but he has far greater intellectual honesty than this schmuck here and he's just advancing it as a hypothesis despite his obvious affinity to the hypothesis, Penrose that is.
