Glad you stated this. Had to check comments myself before posting. So the announcement never really stated how much xp but I noticed quite a few streamers posting 25% probably because we were so used to it from previous events. It was in effect but bugged the first couple of days. Seems to be working even now, just haven't heard of any goblin packs. Not every Greed shrine releases them. That's all i have from my own experience and my clan atm. Not speaking for everyone of course. I'm having a ball still and just helped a clan friend of mine who joined game just in time for this buff and helped raise him to almost 60.

My oldest and I started Necros on S4 release day, 2 of my other sons who haven't played since release came back. Once our Necros were powerful enough we started Barbs and now that they are clearing Pit 100s we plan to start something else while the blessing is still active. Having fun and enjoying the game. I also know a number of people who recently purchased it because it's cheaper right now.

no, player retention and daily active users are not the same number. While a lot of these probably are the same players, that chart is not representative of retention. As you can see, it's currently on an incline in player numbers so it's likely that it's picking up players rather than simply retaining them. There is a chance it's the same players, but this chart does not show that.

A seasonal game growing concurrency 3-4 weeks after launch is basically unheard of. It also isn't reflected in any other area like streaming and YT viewership inferring its likely only to be for steam numbers and the actual total concurrency is behaving normally. So the likely explanation is a platform migration of people returning and reinstalling the game through steam as well as it being the primary portal for new PC players trickling in.

@@arcc4 Diablo is already in a weird spot though - we want it to be good, and it wasn't. I'm one of the people who pre-ordered, played in beta, played in pre-season, and then quit Diablo 4 until now. I started a week late in Season 4 because a couple friends promised me the game had all the changes it needed to be good, and it was actually worth playing. I'm sure many people are in my position, and the word of mouth that Diablo 4 is a playable game would be the reason for the growth over the first month, where something like PoE gets that day 1 boost because we all expect the game to be good on day 1. We don't need to wait for someone to tell us PoE is finally playable.

What i mostly enjoy this season is the panoply of sheer new builds that were unlocked by the new system. Before i was missing just a few elements for an off meta build to ramp up but now that extra bump in affixes is all i needed from them to come online. Just druid itself, i've made 8 caster variants, all of them viable to do pits with now. Even sorcerer, hydra sorc is possible now, for example. (Has some issues but surmountable)Hell, you can even make a long range barb if you want to. It's great

Up until this season my highest character was a level 78. I’ve almost maxed 3 different classes this season. I think the changes they made to the loot was an absolute game changer. There’s soo much you can do with tempering. I’ve been having a blast this season.

I dropped off the season last week, hit the point where the grind was too obnoxious to continue masterworking with my build (which isn’t in the top brackets), got max armour, max res, I guess I could stack a bit more life but not without fiddling around, grinding out rolls, etc, could keep going to but it’s not worth the effort for me at this point. Can i give you a strategy for this thing for next season? I have made my first character a barb and his build was done specifically for pit, so that when i need masterwork material i change and get them with it. Made couple more characters and one more barbarian and all their builds was for fun. One for speedfarming ww tyraelmight barb, one for boss single target dps rapid fire rogue(this thing slapped, i was hitting 2b with 8level masterwork with weapons only all others lvl 4) etc etc. and it worked like a charm. So, make one character for pit and never care about it again, pit was the least amount of time i spent in the game i really really hated it after like my 15th pit run. i dropped the season just about when you made this comment and it was fun for me too. I usually have the issue with each diablo season (even back in D3) that once i stop playing for some reason, I don't pick it back up until the next season. Maybe it's work, maybe it's my buddies don't have time for a weekend, or whatever, but when I stop playing for 3-4 days the season is over for me. I just came back from a 2 week vacation and I truly couldn't wait to jump back in and keep pushing the pit and grinding some more gear. Absolutely phenomenal season, even though i missed 90% of the entire gobling/xp-event.

The Pit Level - Pit Boss thing was an issue, I noticed grinding the pit at level 70 pretty well then the boss a literal nightmare, just a touch and OHK all the time until the time is gone and I wouldn't even care of finishing it.

Yes, I’m playing season four of D4 and I’m loving it. I am on the uphill battle for getting my third character to level 100 for this season and I’ve probably put in a quarter of the amount of time that I have on previous seasons this far in to a season. I’m extremely excited for the expansion.

D4 is finally at ver 1.0 as far as the community is concerned. A great place to be. Heres a list of what needs to happen over the next months/years 1) more classes 2) more skills 3) more aspects 4) more levels 5) more paragon boards 6) more items 7) more enemies regular and bosses alike. 8) more varied and new muti-level dungeons 8) actual armor sets 9) someone say rune-words? D4 is actually fun to play now; if they can hit most of these points over months /years , it will go from a good game to a great one .

Preseason it took a lot of effort to get to 100 in HC. This season it took me 2 days. They committed to the D3 blaster type Diablo. The anniversary event is lacking. I started playing last epoch and the build variety is incredible. Ill try vessel of hatred for the story and hopefully improved skills. Introducing pets though, oh boy

Holy crap, I haven't stopped playing in over a week since I figured now would be the time try to get back into the game. Being able to level up extremely fast through the Helltide events (and using potions etc.) kind of lets me level up to the soft cap quickly and then figure out the path through the Paragon stuff (I haven't used a build yet, probably should though lol). But I'm also just having a ton of fun with basically every class now - I'm even doing world bosses which I never even touched previously. So, kudos to the dev team for the loot reborn changes, it's great so far. I just hope it keeps up with upcoming seasons and the expansion of course.

I'll be honest. I was surprised to see myself logging in still to this day to grind out my Necro and further finish him out. Trying to get masterworking done on all my pieces, get a shako, just things to do still. It's pretty awesome the season lasted a month for me, and it didn't even really have a theme. Just great updates and reasons for me to keep playing. Kudos to the D4 team.

As other games, D4 also have its core player base who will play and spend money in the game no matter what. In addition, these players are basically the ones who have no problem doing the same thing countless time like Rikker himself who doesnt believe in seasons. They are basically old player who grown playing solo or in Local Area Network when internet connection whas a luxury.

I am having a blast this season. I have Necro, Barb, Rogue to 100. I am also working on getting all 5 classes to 50 in hardcore; this is all because of the xp boost, I call it motivation. I played launch, got to 94 on a rogue, and played a druid to 74 during season 1.

ive geared a Rogue heartseeker, and cleared all season journey, also did all bosses and lilith. did Pit 120 solo. Then i made a Sorc, firebolt. but due to high demand of CD on gear for that build, i never only got to endgame with it, still need better gear to do high pit. So now i made a Barb, want a WW bard, and if i don't like that i can always make it a Bash Barb or Thorn barb. Best season in D4 so far, i hope they fix World bosses, and gold is too hard to get when you need to reroll mastercrafting to get 3x cooldown reduction on a Shako or any other gear.

I got to level 100, was actually good doing the Renown and hitting max level as a casual. Easy to get into Nightmare Dungeons for the Glyph levelling and then into Pit. As a casual, it’s great to experience the end. As if you’re getting burnt out before the end, it’s not fun at all. All in all 9.5/10. The 0.5 that is missing as sometimes I feel like I am running into hidden walls on the map in heltide. Once I logout and re login it fixes, extremely fast logging in and off and I am still in the same spot in helltide. I know it’s a pain, but it’s easy to workaround.

If you buying the game today on pc, it’s on steam. For all the reasons mentioned, it makes sense. I got Sorc to 100 rather fast. Started necro with the event. If I finish it soon, I might do a rogue as well before the exp event ends. After that, don’t really except to keep playing the season unless to push deeper into the pit.

I'm pretty sure this season maintaining so many players is the result of the build diversity. Sure they won't all 1 shot Blood Maiden or push 100+ Pit, but while leveling everything feels good. Ergo many are likely trying multiple classes. This is the order and power level of each class I played. (Each class in it's own tier) 1st: Minion Necro - B tier (pretty easy but you eventually have to keep on your toes or be wrecked) 2nd: Heartseeker Rogue - C tier - Sure it kills well enough, but easily overwhelmed imo 3rd: Minion Druid - A Tier (Same as necro but now you're also a tank) 4th: Sorceress - D Tier (holy cow, way too many builds are awful against bosses AND the unique dependency is real) 5th: Bash Barb - Tier S (If this wasn't your first char, it's so strong you'll likely quit way before 100)

Think I would've stayed longer for the season too if only they had class or even build specific leaderboards for the Pit - alike D3. That and the lack of defensive options late game is kinda off-putting. Again, D3 had that in spades, you could build a glass cannon or an absolute tank - there's basically none of that range in D4. Oh and then there's the skill twig.. ironically the class builds/customizability is far more limited than, you guessed it, D3.

I wish you could go into details about how characters (sorc) can not get one shot. I fly through pit 70 with ease using frozen orb and get one shot by a boss. Still haven’t been able to beat Uber Lilith either and would love tips on how to not get one shot

For Diablo, the pit 200 not being conquered along with hunting greater affix items has kept the grind alive for me, and I suspect for many other players as well. The new event also gives players incentive to try other classes which I've seen a ton in Discord and Twitch

I've gotten some really good gear including my first triple star from the goblins. I love the gold boost since I'm getting most of my gold killing crap in the helltides. And the XP boost is great. Oh and I'm working on alt three now, after getting my first toon to 100 since release.

I agree, but maybe they should lower the entry level. I tried jumping in as soon as I unlocked, but couldn't deal any damage to the first boss and it killed my character in seconds. Maybe I'll give it another try, now that my char is stronger with max resists in all.

Played base diablo 4, played through the little story for season 1 and 2, season 3 I took a break. Season 4 I'm at level 78, my highest level, and I love jumping in for a few hours a week. Hoping to put in more hours during blessing to hit level 100 this week, but I'm busy.

I played the first 2-3 weeks and got 2 characters to 100 and maxed out everything I wanted to do. Pit level 120, I could probably push more, but that's not my interest, one shotting all the uber bosses level 200 and maxing out my tempering and aspects. It was a good time, but I'm waiting for the next season to start a new class^

I love March of the Goblins. Pop a ND with extra shrines and go hunting. Sooo much 925 loot. Do it with a friend or two and it is crazy. Dopamine kick 4ever!

The anniversary event is fine. It doesn't need to be a side quest or a grind fest. I'm cool with randomly getting extra loot while I am doing whatever it is I want to do. In fact, I love that I don't have to break away from what I want to be doing to interact with the event. Edit: They could make it a little more obvious that Treasure Goblins are nearby. Also, let us cancel their portal animation. It feels bad when you are chasing a goblin, and you just get to watch them spawn a portal and flee, but you can't interact with them while they are standing right in front of you.

Don't know what the numbers say, but seeing the entire season was based around an activity I didn't enjoy grinding in the first 3 seasons, I've played for maybe 2-3 hours total and not sure I'll be going back for more. (I play through Battlenet.) Might even just wait for a new class since the seasons haven't been thrilling me.

So, I started a new character on the day the blessing dropped- in the first twenty minutes as I was just galloping around getting waypoints I encountered six goblins. My level 1-10 had all rare and legendary equipment before I started hell tide 👍🏻

This season has been absolutely awesome. Love all the new endgame systems to build your character. This feels like where the game should have been to start. Definitely not a complaint as I’m just happy it’s here now. Now that we are there’s soooo much potential imo to continue to build upon what we currently have and add to it. New end game activities and ways to play. Can’t wait to see what the expansion will add

I love the goblin event. the big thing is the greed shrines. I have had 8 goblins out of one greed shrine because I happened to have a really good event right next to the shrine. also the greater bags from the loot goblins give really good gear. at least in my experience.

Still playing because I was only able to start playing on Wed due to surgery the day the season launched, so just started going and usually I play for about 2 months before I finish everything.

I have been playing Diablo 4 none stop and I was one of the people who was very outspoken with their dissatisfaction with Diablo 4. What we have now is what I wanted Diablo 4 to be like at launch. It should only go up from here - the loot is interesting - I have a reason to grind now - it feels good to play and feel like I’ve made progress - alt leveling is no longer a chore and - HDR works correctly - Diablo 4 is fun now A lot of fun I can’t wait to see what the expansion brings and I hope we get a witch doctor class !

I quit S2 early on, skipped S3, but I'm still playing S4. (Played through the campaign first, so it's a "slow" playthrough) And maybe I'll finally finish those Lilith altars. We'll see, so far I'm enjoying it.

I'm a father of two Littles, so I don't get a lot of game time. So now I only play hardcore because it makes things exciting and forces me to slow down and just enjoy the game. Making my own build without looking at guides. S4 has been fantastic. I've lost 2 druids around lvl 50 but now a 60 rogue. I'm loving it.

Rhykker, this is the only season i got all classes to lvl 100, and i know many many ppl did so too, the chance to try all class at high level is insane, and i am sure game pass has some part to do with it, i personally invited 14 days trial my friends, who didn't afford to buy d4, most of them ending paying for game pass, also twich is full of d4 streams even now.

After leveling a sorc to 100 and hitting a wall at pit 75, I made a necro, got to 78, then said fuck it I'm going barb. Now my 100 barb can easily clear 100 pit, and I just made my shako! Still playing

I'm still playing d4 I had to do renoun for my paragon points and my wife's paragon points we didn't do them but now we don't have to worry about it. We both now have our first level 100 toon feels good. Also I leveled her alt she switched from druid to necro druid never hit level 100 though she was tired of dying too much
