Aftermath has a line from Sinjir that strongly hits to the idea of Ewoks eating people. He's actually pretty certain of it, judging by the line. He sees a dead ally and sees her as "food for the native Ewoks."

Canonically speaking, the rebels, while we do regard them as the "good guys", did plenty of horrible things to accomplish their objectives. Rogue One spells this out quite nicely. I'm willing to bet the rebels were willing to turn a blind eye to the Ewok's dietary choices as much as they likely turned a blind eye to the pollution and damage done to Endor when the second death star was destroyed.

The Empire destroyed entire planets just to test out their new weapons and enslaved entire species, like the Wookiees, and held the belief that they should rule the galaxy through fear and intimidation. So you can try to convince me that the Rebellion weren't the good guys, but I'll still take them over the giant military force that's being ruled by two Sith Lords who are guaranteed to murder you if they have the chance.

Seriously? I thought people all assumed they ate them. The reason I really like Ewoks is because they had traits similar to real creatures. Their appearance lowers your guard, and then they capture and eat you. Even as a little kid I believed that. All my friends and family did, too. So this is why people hate Ewoks? Cuz they're cute and only eat rebels? lol I thought that they were kinda scary, and cute only when they're your friends. And on a side note, the reason why the cute and cuddly Ewoks are in ROTJ is to show the contrast of good and evil. People seem to miss that when watching. They think it's stupid, but I think it's a very meaningful representation of the GCW. So either way you go, Ewoks make sense. And people who hate on'em really don't. But one things for sure. If Endor in Star Wars Galaxies is anything to go by, Ewoks are terrifying savages who probably very well did eat the stormtroopers.

In all fairness, Ewoks were considered a delicacy in the outer rim planets, and a fast food in the core regions. This is indicated in the Cannon book "Spice Run", where Han Solo is tasked with providing the ingredients for the spice rub used to prepare Ewoks for mass consumption on "McPlanet". He was later forced into an eating contest against the hideous Clown Lord that ran the planet in a double-or-nothing over his owed payment. He won only by passing off Chewbacca's brother in law as an Ewok, which Clown Lord was unable to finish. Sadly, the winner also had to pay the dining bill of the loser. So Han only left with 1/2 of his pay and a juice box for his effort.

Well, in Forces of Destiny the Ewoks were hungry and wanted to eat a group of stormtroopers but Leia stopped them by getting Han to bring them ration bars. So it can be easy to assume a lot of other stormtrooper squads weren't as lucky as that group.

Ewoks totally ate the Stormtroopers. They are a simple people and didn't care about politics or good/evil... for the Ewoks, that feast was for a successful HUNT! They had loads of Fresh food and had the luxury of splurging by eating a lot immediately. They probably made enough Stormtrooper Jerky to last them years! Stormjerky, if you will.

The Aftermath book series which is canon discuss this subject as a main character was an imperial officer on Endor who took a dead rebel soldier's uniform so he wouldn't get eaten like his fellow Imperials and became a member of the Rebellion.

About that line where ''they wanted to take his spirit into themselves'' thats called anthropophagy. Basicly, anthropophagy is a ritual where a individual(s) eat parts of a prisoner's body with the goal to accquire the victim's skills, strenght and virility. It's not to be confused as downright canibalism as this is not a predatory act. So yeah, your theory is correct based on the evidences. EDIT: Just for a little bit more of information, many indigenous cultures would pratice this ritual around the world, from Africa to South America...even *North America*

When Leia was separated from the rest of the group after the speeder bike chase and met Wicket, he didn't seem too concerned with capturing and eating her. In the village when Luke, Han, and Chewie were about to be set on fire, Threepio translates: "I'm rather embarrassed, General Solo, but it appears you are to be the main course at a banquet in my honor." One can speculate that that wasn't the original plan of the Ewoks if Threepio hadn't have been captured with them. Since they viewed Threepio as their deity, they probably thought it would be appropriate to sacrifice and cook the recent captives at the moment he appeared to them. After all, Leia made it to the village uncooked. So no, I don't think the stormtroopers were eaten. Threepio either didn't allow it or the rebels surely had too good of consciences for that to happen.

Wicket and his village were actually more or less already butting heads with the Empire. occasionally capturing stormtroopers while imperial squads spent much of their time guarding the bunker and shooting any ewok dumb enough to come near. The ewoks were already used to eating and fighting the empire hence why they specifically designed traps to beat both imperial walkers and speeder bikes long before the rebels showed up. Its most likley that the ewoks knew the imperial were human and they saw that the rebels were as well so to them the rebels were more meat for the tribe. 3po did stop and convince the ewoks that the rebels were different and were against the Empire as well of course however it's highly unlikely that the rebels cared about the ewok eating stormtroopers. considering Palpatine claimed he sent his best forces to the planet and Vader was also present we can safely assume that the imperial forces on endor were the 501st legion aka Vaders fist aka the surviving jango fett clones aka the same guys that killed the Jedi in the temple without trial including the children. Just as the Empire were wary of droids it's most likely that rebels had similar opinions of clones even if for some reason the rebels diddnt know or care what happend to the Jedi there was a lot of hatred towards clones even during the war. Basically the rebels most likely didint care that the ewoks ate them because they considered the majority of the stormtroopers to be subhuman and the few non clones were most likely horrific high in command war criminals after all these were the guys willingly protecting a literal planet destroying super weapon. The rebels were good but good does not automatically mean nice and honorable. Even if the rebels cared there was little they could do other than leave the bodies on endor in other words they were going to be taken by mother nature anyway.

The story in the Forces of Destiny short on Endor is Leia sending Han off for food rations so the Ewoks won't eat the Stormtroopers. So I'd say some stormies definitely wound up as Ewok food...

50/50. #1: Its Technically not Cannibalism, just like Jabba's Rancor & the Sarlacc. #2: There could've been a good chance that the Ewoks were Balancing their Diet after the Empire scared their Regular Game. & #3: Even though the Ewoks are Sentients, they're also Primitives & if they Knew & Understood more, Including the Empire, they Could've Avoided this & the Empire could've traded Food for Protection from the Ewoks.

I honestly always thought that they ate the stormtroopers when I was younger. I understood that they ate humans but it was ok because the stormtroopers were bad. But now that I think about it the ewoks are a lot more scary than cute.

That sounded too dark, I'm pretty sure they might have took of their helmets for drums and properly burry the dead bodies since it wouldn't make it vicious.

I do not understand what the big deal with this is. That is like humans would be eating wild gooses that attacked them. Stop putting humans above other species. It is not cannibalism if humans don't do it. Eating the dead enemy for food does not make anyone bad. Ewoks are still cute to me.

I'd say that the Rebels convinced the Ewoks not to eat the surviving stormtroopers and other Imperials thanks to C3PO. The Ewoks clearly ate other sentient beings before the Battle of Endor but not afterwards.

Treek, the Ewok companion in Star Wars The Old Republic eats people. The Ewoks tend to eat what they kill so yeah, storm trooper was on the menu.

I love the thought that the Ewoks at the space gestapo. It makes them far more interesting and devious than they were portrayed as when I was a kid. I remember my brother asking our mom what happened to the stormtroopers' bodies when he saw their helmets. My mom just had this really uncomfortable look on her face and tried to change the subject, knowing what my brother was getting at.
