This is like number one on Steve’s stupidest moments in 13 years. The shit he said to this man trying to defend that woman and her family was just off the wall. Regardless of how you wanna spin it, when a grown ass woman picks up a gun and takes her OWN life, it’s her OWN fault. Point blank period. I don’t care where he left the gun, or if he gift-wrapped it and handed it to her. Doesn’t matter. And furthermore, how the hell do you tell someone to move on from the death of their spouse? Where do you even get off making a comment like that? How DARE he? If anything happened to Steve’s wife you’d have to throw him in the ground WITH her! The audacity of that comment. I’m a diehard fan of the show, I’ve been watching for the last nine years, but this was probably the biggest jackass Steve has made of himself that I’ve seen in the almost decade I’ve been watching. Shameful, it’s like the longer the show runs, the stupider he gets. And it pains me to say that. The family denied YOUR results Steve, and you blasted him off of your stage? No. Check yourself.

I love Steve, but the way that he treated this guy was so messed up. Plus, he contradicted himself by pretty much telling this guy to get over it, then telling the family that the pain will never go away. I do feel awful for them, they lost a daughter / granddaughter, but this man lost a wife. She was family to him too, not just the two women. That just wasn’t right.

Yeah, he can leave the family alone but when the family is telling everyone you know that you killed your own wife, what are you supposed to do? I am mentally ill, and my bf always tries to console me when I feel depressed and hopeless. I DID try to kill myself 9 years ago, and I am the ONLY person responsible for trying to end my life, and this was way before I met my bf. But because my bf dated a mentally ill woman in the past, he understands to a point, because he has experience from his son's mom being mentally ill as well. We DO have arguments, but we do what we can to resolve them verbally only, we've never hit each other, and we argue until we are so mad, we give each other the silent treatment. He's a Taurus, I'm Aquarius. According to astrology, we are not a match, but what's funny is, we always get through our arguments, mostly started by me, obviously being retarded and not thinking before shit comes outta my mouth, but once we go back to our normal selves, lovey dovey, and sweet on each other, WE BOTH apologize, and we move forward. I DO take meds, and am in counseling. I recently lost my mom, who I was VERY close to, to cervical cancer in September of 2021, so it's still fresh to me. I've had many mental breakdowns since then, and tears are filling my eyes as I type this, because had my suicide attempt been successful, my mom would've had to live without TWO kids, not just one. My older brother died in 2009 from AIDS that he got from some idiot who didn't tell my brother he was infected. Yes, my brother was gay, but who cares? When he died, my mom's world came crashing down on her, and my younger brother is an asshole like my dad, and we don't speak, he didn't speak to my mom before she died, and so basically all my mom had after my brother died was me. Maybe there is a reason I didn't succeed at trying to end my life 9 years ago. Maybe it's because my mom needed me. So, I stayed. I promised her that no matter how tough life gets, that I won't do that again. Yes, suicide has crossed my mind a lot since my mom died, but I think it's part of my grieving process as a mentally ill person. I always remind myself when I get that thought that my mom would be very sad if I did that to myself. She said, "I want you to go to Heaven with us, Melisse. God doesn't want you to take your own life, and you're not supposed to, but if you do, I won't fully understand, but I would know it wasn't really you that killed yourself, and that it is your mental illness." Those words with tears in her eyes, kicked me right in my ass and made me vow to keep that promise to stay alive until God himself calls me home. Obviously, I'm still here. Life does suck, especially after losing my brother, then my mom, it's really painful and the day she left this world, is the day that I fell apart. I'm still trying to hold it together, and TRYING to hold it together when you're already fucked up in the head is the hardest battle EVER! Suicide is not a fucking joke, dude. No matter how much you love a suicidal person, ultimately, they're either gonna do or not do what that devil voice in their head is telling them to. It's not fun. With my suicide attempt, I was hanging by a thread, paramedics said that if my neighbor waited just 2 to 3 minutes more to call, that I'd be dead. I nearly flatlined in the back of the ambulance, spent 2 days on a heart monitor in the ICU unit of the ER, and the entire time was scary, I'll be honest. I never tried that again. Suicide and mental illness are nothing to fuck with. On top of my mom recently passing away, my landlord knows of this, and suddenly, like 6 months after she died, he and his daughter tell me I have to move. So, my mom said some things happen in threes. Well, what's #3 gonna be? Can't possibly be any worse than being asked to move out of the only place you can afford not even a year after you lose your mom. Like wtf... Life sucks, but I wake up every day, I take my damn stupid pills and I soldier on, the way my momma raised me to. I'm not doing this for ME. I'm doing this for HER. And God. Music is good therapy.

I usually love the show but I’ve noticed more and more how hard he comes down on some of these men, even when they are found innocent. How can you see the pain in his eyes and still try to tell him he is partially responsible? Every couple fights. Every couple with a gun would share the code to the safe. He looks like a bad guy so he is? That’s extreme police profiling. This man deserves an apology. If HE killed himself after this show would you consider yourself partially responsible?

@@Carapendy in that case sure, but most people who commit suicide don’t kill them selves over one person or reason. It’s a number of things and to just lay someone’s suicide on someone else is cruel. He lost his wife, and they are calling him a murderer. What is he supposed to just sit quietly and let them smear his name without a fight? Steve gets mad when people don't fight to prove they are innocent, because it makes them look guilty. I wouldn't sit quietly if people thought I killed my husband, and I would hope my husband wouldn't sit quietly if people thought he killed me. That's the point of this show, to clear your name of false accusations. People own guns, that's America for you. Suicide is awful and I don’t wish that on any family, because our family has experienced that. However, I feel like Steve made this guy a scapegoat because there’s no evidence there that he abused her to the point of wanting to commit suicide-they sound like they were abusive to each other. The guy passed every single question on the lie detector test and Steve still came for him hard like that. That just seems like he’s looking for a scapegoat for this family. Suicide is absolutely awful. Why didn’t she go to her family if she was feeling this way and go live with her grandmother or her mother? We don’t know how she treated her husband because she’s not here to defend herself. But he passed every question lie detector test and I think Steve was a jerk on this one.

They’re disguising it as “partially responsible” but we all know what you mean. Steve keeps saying he needs to leave them alone and stop harassing them and all this other shit but from what we’re hearing they’re also going to the furthest extent to go tell anyone and everyone he killed his wife when we all know he didn’t. Was he an idiot for not securing his gun? Sure. But was he supposed to just know his wife was going to commit suicide and know to stop her? They were married, he wasn’t her caretaker. And maybe he drove her to do it, but there is no proof of that (from what I’ve seen) and it makes me angry that everyone is treating it like there was

If the husband had something to do with her death even indirectly the results would have been at least inconclusive. Why didn't Steve confront the family for falsely accusing him online? I did not like the way this man was treated. Steve clearly judged him by his appearance, as did his wife's family. The man proved himself totally innocent and Steve proceeds to pretty much say that just because he didn't shoot her doesn't mean it wasn't his fault. What kinda thing is that to say to a grieving widow?? Steve has no idea what that feels like yet he's harshly judging him for no good reason. I feel so bad for him. I hope he finds peace.

I didnt like Steve's response here, if someone was tarnishing my name and calling me a murderer...I would be mad too, of course hes hurt. She was living with him when she died.It means that she still loved him or she would have been living with her parents. This was a sad one to watch.

I got pissed watching this episode. How the hell do you tell someone to move on from losing their WIFE?! Steve was talking out of his ass on this one. I’m starting to notice that he does that quite often when he can’t find something wrong with a person. When they do everything that a normal person would do, he has to make it seem like they’re doing something wrong or weird. Ratings must be dropping.

@@swaggertt3106 Listen, we can have a conversation without you insulting me or cussing. Are u saying i sound stupid on the part of they both having access to the gun? there are households where ppl just have safe of weapons and they are the only ones who have access to them. if im not completely understanding what your saying help me out cause to me ur all over the place (no offense its just how i read things). What i was saying is if she was suicidal he should have kept it in a different place. I dont think its his fault cause at some point she was good so he mostly had some trust to keep it out (i dont remember the whole story im trying to remember what i can). again idk what part i sound stupid on but just i dont think its his fault

Having suicidal tendencies from 16 and to leave this world from suicide ...where were they??? Why is he responsible because he didn't lock away his guns? As his wife she should know the combination to get in a gun safe if they had one anyway. What if she was home alone and someone broke into the house and she didn't know the combination to the safe? Then it would be "well why didn't she have access to the guns??" Absolutely stupid to say he is responsible for not locking away his guns from his wife.
