Hi, really refreshing reviews, I am also enjoying seeing the local area in videos. I noticed the Stonemasons pub in Timperley village as you drove past. I am local (Sale) and am waiting for my Model 3 RWD (ex demo) and can’t wait to see what a decent EV can do. Keep up with the reviews we are all enjoyingg your honest and frank impressions.

First update was the 2020. This didn’t have the wood effect trim insert in the door. It did have the black windows and door handles. Note the black ones can be pushed in at the front a few mm to break ice- the silver ones cannot. It got the new centre console and double glazed front door glass. In late 20, on a 70 plate they got the new door cards. November 21 on had Ryzen GPU in the touchscreen and also moved to a 16v Lithium Ion Low Voltage battery. Beware using 12 lv socket accessories as the socket is at 16v! Late 22 lost the USS sensors. Small incremental changes year on year. The more your budget the more you get. They all drive lovely- very little creaks or rattles. I test drove a 2018 M3P and fell in love with it but couldn’t afford one. Now I’ve just bought a Sept21 M3P with low mileage. It is indeed a quieter and a lot more smoother ride than the original. At 40% of new price for a car still in warranty and less than 20,000 miles I’m a happy bunny. Loving it.

I like the minimalism of the interior. I have a hybrid which I'm happy with but the absence of the ICE engine note is good.

@CobyEV5 күн бұрын
I believe it was late 2020 so the earliest examples are on a ‘70’ plate.
@banzibarn2 күн бұрын
70 plate but these were still made in America and didn't have a heated steering wheel or wood trim on the doors. China Facelifts were when the reported quality improvements came. Look for wood on the doors to be sure it was made in China.

@CobyEV that's a decent EV as long as it's not taken too far. Can I ask what sort of winter range you were getting at 70mph with heating ect
@CobyEV5 күн бұрын
@@ashb8572 If I was to drive at 70mph constantly with the heating on, I think the range would only be around 110 miles at anything less than 5 degrees. In March last year, I was getting 140 miles at about 60mph on the motorway. It was a good car, just not quite what I needed. If it had CCS, I reckon I wouldn’t have been in as much of a hurry to upgrade as I was.

After 30,000 miles you should have 97% capacity. At 100,000 miles you should have 90-92%. At 300,000miles it will still be 90% capacity. That’s the realistic study into 5,700 individual EVs from many manufacturers.

No longer an EV driver, four weeks ago chopped the EV after two years for a hybrid. Not anti EV but hoping by the time the lease is up on this new car the difficulties I was having will no longer exist. Tesla are definitely the leaders in providing the EV service but current models just don't work for my circumstances and needs. Still watching EV channels like this though and also new review channels as my investigations for future car changes begin now. Keep up the good work with the how it's going videos, throw in a few road trips, maybe a public charging exercise or two and I for one will keep watching 👌

@@DavidJohnston58 Thanks for the comment! I’ll absolutely take those ideas on board. I often put long distance destinations into the Tesla Navigation system to see how it would plan the journey and its always had pretty realistic plans for driving to places like Paris or even Oslo. @@ashb8572 went with Skoda Kodiaq, previous car was Citroen eC4. Citroen was a good car, really comfortable and cost peanuts to run around locally. The longer trips were not so good. Motorway mileage was shocking, added to which the motorway services on my main route (Ireland) changed out the older units but reduced to one new charger per site with heavy cables! Even going early at 4am I found had to wait to get a charge or go elsewhere. New units were getting heavy cables I couldn't manage following a rear ending and damaged spine. Hurt myself on these few times eventually ending up in hospital after last one in June. Ironically the only units I struggled with at start were Ionity. No problem to avoid as there were only a handful of installations, then 2 years in found myself planning routes to use them Skoda allows me to run around locally with 70+ miles per charge and on a run I can go around on hybrid then charge at leisure if it suits or continue on petrol if it doesn't. So far put around 800 miles on it and yet to put any petrol in, still sitting at what the dealership put in. That will probably change with a 600 mile trip first week January.
