I’m 35 now and I bought a Taylor GS8 when I was 20. For the last 15 years I’ve played every brand of acoustic for one I liked more than my Taylor. I never found one until today when I played and then purchased a Furch Yellow D CR. It’s the nicest guitar I’ve ever played or heard by a large margin. I’m addicted to playing it and will have it my whole life. Thank you so much to this wonderful company. Thanks to all the men and women who work at Furch. Greatly appreciate it with all my heart 🙏❤️

Furch uses composite plastic saddles called Tusc rather then bone on the guitars I have seen. Bone allows more string energy to penetrate the body. The composite plastic tusq does allow a guitar to sound better with light gauge strings whereas with bone it would need mediums.

But when I tried it (Red series Indian Rosewood back and sides and Adirondack Spruce top) I was mesmerised by its clarity, it’s tone and overall excellent build quality. Bought it the same day. I’m sure there are other excellently sounding guitar out there in the world build by other great builders. But the alluring price point for such a superbly build guitar cut the deal for me. It was roughly 17 years ago...I'll never forget playing an unknown brand name acoustic cutaway with a very large auditorium style body made of unique woods that I didn't quite yet recognize... after playing it for about an hour at the unique stringed instruments store ...I was ruined for life when it came to acoustics! I've played pretty much everything since then, and have not found one nearly as special! It had such unique resonance and harmonic overtones I remember saying to the salesman in the shop..."this thing sings man!" Of course, it was in the similar price range as your new guitar...and of course, with a sigh, I said to the guy I wish I could afford something like that. I honestly felt I was undeserving considering I was not that good of a guitar player...but I also felt a guitar like that could probably change a person's life...inspire you to write amazing songs! So...I totally understand the feeling you're having right now with that guitar in your hands! I must finally say that though I love playing my electrics, I don't think anything can compare to an acoustic of that quality resonating in your hands...it's purely magical! Enjoy every minute! 😎🎸

Furch guitars are amazing. I know a guy who bought their travel guitar (detatchable(!!!) neck) which costs about 1K ...and sound-wise, especially considering the clarity, it beats the living crap out of my Yamaha FGX which was about 500 bucks.

I just purchased the Merida Poison electro acoustic. I have been playing for 57 years and am having some trouble trying to think of any of the hundreds of high end guitars i have owned that sounded or played any better than the Merida. I wish i had known of these guitars sooner. Of course they are very beautiful to look at also and so much a pleasure to play. Thank you for your great review and excellent playing..

Loved the video. As I was watching it, I was struck by the fact that almost everything you were describing about it, and that I was hearing from the guitar, were virtually identical to what has been written about the Taylor K14ce Builder’s Edition. Gorgeous craftsmanship and detailing, great projection, amazing ability to stay in tune up the neck (results of the new V-class bracing), great tone and playability. I think it would be amazing to see you do a side by side comparison. I own the Taylor K14ce, and aside from it having Koa back and sides, most of the other characteristics are extremely similar. I am not suggesting that one is better than the other, and I love that you are reviewing guitars by smaller manufacturers. I would just love to see two such wonderful instruments evaluated side by side. (Would also like to see you show how you record the guitars). Keep up the great work!

Just purchased the same model, I have never played an acoustic with such response and clarity it's off the chart ... no regrets parting with $£€K

BLESS YOU SIR! This is the brand that changed my LIFE in guitar retail. It was FURCH that changed my perspective entirely and made me realise just what a wonderful world existed outside of the mainstream high volume brands. I was a little ahead of you because that was about 15 years ago! However - I remember feeling exactly the same way!! I felt guilty that i considered myself a specialist yet how could I not know? The reality is we can only know what we experience and very often what we experience is controlled by media and big business. I cannot thank you enough for bringing exposure to this wonderful company - your words, although far more sinsinct and elequant than mine , express my views down to the tee. What a wonderful, genuine video. Now you have experienced this guitar, check out my other "babies" as I call them. The Furch Yellow G CRC and then under £1000 you have the Furch blue G CMC. You will not believe the experience you are having!!! Anyway - Hi from England and thank you once again.

i bought my Furch 3 yrs ago. I always expeczed to get a Martin. But I fell in love with it listeng to the Sitka and mahogany. When it arrived, I feared that it wouldn't meet my expectations. I am able to say it exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with it. A great review. I subscribed to your channel.

I’ve had this guitar for almost two months now. I own a Martin and Takamine also. All three play and sound differently, and I like that. However when you put the Furch in your hands, it’s just a different animal. The build quality is just awesome. I’ll definitely purchase a dread down the road.

Great review, overview, and demo, you always have excellent, quality content! These Furch guitars have really gotten my interest and so I'm researching a lot about them. Having videos like this by a masterful guitarist who knows not only how to bring the best out of the instrument but record it beautifully, really helps... thank you!

I used to work in a guitar shop in SW England, we were the furch dealer for our area. I can honestly say, the best acoustic guitars I have ever played. I would buy one over a Martin every time. For those on a tighter budget the G21 model is great.

Hi Mr. Davids, I've been a musician my whole life but just recently started getting into recording. I would love to learn about how you record your guitars! Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. Also, keep up the good work! You have some of the most fascinating videos on KZbin, hands down.

A couple of years ago, I tested out a bunch of Furch guitars in a music shop in Stockholm, and a decade ago, some Stonebridge guitars in Canada, which is the brand name they use overseas. They were all really great instruments, sounding like I think an acoustic should sound, with a natural, warm, woody sound and with great projection, although there definitely were differences between the models. The ones i tried out were in the range between 800 and 2500 euros approximately at both places, which is less or even much less than this reviewed guitar costs. I can really recommend these for anyone interested in a great sounding and easily playable acoustic guitar!

In 2016 I went to Prague and brought back an awesome SR-35 (discontinued now being the successor the Vintage 3 Model). Had the opportunity to try for hours all kind of Furch models (The trip to Prague meant to be a 1 shot two birds thing, Nice Trip + Awesome Guitar) and brought home the one that sounded best from the Vintage series, they are more traditional "ala Martin" and appeal more to me. For a Martin in that range of wood an finish I would have gone sure to the 4-5k range. For 2400 I got mine with the LR bags System installed.
