I’m 35 now and I bought a Taylor GS8 when I was 20. For the last 15 years I’ve played every brand of acoustic for one I liked more than my Taylor. I never found one until today when I played and then purchased a Furch Yellow D CR. It’s the nicest guitar I’ve ever played or heard by a large margin. I’m addicted to playing it and will have it my whole life. Thank you so much to this wonderful company. Thanks to all the men and women who work at Furch. Greatly appreciate it with all my heart 🙏❤️

Czechoslovakia was never part of the Soviet Union. It was part of the Soviet-block (or Eastern Block as we name it in the EU) but has always been a souvereign nation. The country split up in two seperate republics (Czech Republic and Republic of Slovakia) after the fall of the Berlin wall (which was really much larger and better named as Iron Curtain as it stretched through all Soviet-block nations and not only Berlin). Furch guitars are amazing instruments and the factory history is nice but typical of most of Czech musical instrument makers. The story of Framus is also intriguing and I own a classical guitar made in a former Czech but nor German workshop by the great guitar builder Oskar Teller. Lots of builders left Czechoslovakia after the Soviets pulled up the iron curtain. Many of them still exist in a rather small region in the southwest part of what used to be West-Germany. History is really interesting and the story of guitars always seem to return to old European factories of which a number have survived and still make amazing instruments (Furch, Framus, Kremona amongst others). You know where even Martin originated from. Love your videos and especially how you play and analyze the instruments you sell. Wish youg guys had a shop in Europe. Thar would rock the continent!

Thanks so much for your excellent videos!! I purchased the Furch Yellow Master's Choice in March (2022) and it is incredible!! I am a singer songwriter and the Cedar Rosewood combination is exactly the sound I was looking for! This was my dream guitar purchase which was a four year process of researching as well as saving, so I couldn't afford to make a costly mistake. I chose my Furch over Taylor, Breedlove, Martin, Gibson, etc While those companies all make beautiful, great guitars, the Furch is exceptional, in a class of their own! There is something extra in the resonant qualities of their guitars that sets them apart and I'm so grateful for online content like this which introduced me to Furch and helped me explore the different models. I knew exactly what I wanted and that choice was confirmed when I played the Yellow Master's Choice Gc-CR in person. While it's definitely not an inexpensive guitar by any means, it is, IMO, worth many times what I paid for it, it's absolutely world class!

I also traded out the standard Tusq saddle for bone, put on Ebony pins instead of the standard plastic and I like it a lot better. More sustain and clearer to my ear! I also like the Aluminum/Bronze Ernie Ball strings, as Antoine Dufour recommends. Makes it sound even better! I've had Eastman, Taylor, Guild, Blueridge, etc - and I have to say this Furch tops them all for playability and overall rich sound! Love it!!!

Idk what their new naming system entails, but traditionally, with any Furch/Stonebridge guitar, the name would usually tell you the Body Size, and more importantly, the Tonewoods used. It's always good to see any company innovating. Doing something slightly different to make their mark in the industry. Apple used to innovate way back when. But with Furch guitars...like any other...I think we ultimately need to play them. In this video I can't say I was immediately moved to seek out a Furch dealer based simply on KZbin video sound quality and my Sennehizer headphones.. I do hear (to my own ears) better sounding guitars from other brands. Could it partly have to do with the mic's used in the videos? Maybe. The room acoustics? Maybe....But based solely on a KZbin video or 20....for me I prefer the sounds I've heard f rom Huss & Dalton and Collings. the most...Maybe Santa Cruz...Martins not high on my list...would consider a Custom... with some kind of aged top wood...Sitka or Adi...like "moon spruce" topped guitars as well...

Boy some of the comments here are kinda snarky. Just FYI...I bought a Furch violet from Germany shipped to USA for $660 and an indigo from Alamo complete for $950 on eBay. So they have “mass” appeal. I’ve been playing for 40years and am currently working in a luthiers shop building my own steel string. I’ve played and heard martins Gibson’s guilds Taylor’s loprinzi and also own a vintage handmade Yamaha that until now was the best sounding guitar I’ve ever heard. Put simply the solid top laminate Furch are so much more playable and so much better sounding that comparisons are almost laughable. There’s a Taylor in our shop - high end - don’t recall the model - stock, not modified and it sounds like there is a blanket in the soundbox compared to the Furch and the action isn’t even close either. Workmanship and finish on all of them are wonderful but the sound the Furch puts out rivals the finest guitars I’ve ever heard - Boucher bourgeois veillette and thats saying something for intro models with laminate backs.

How is the sound difference? My nearest dealers are 200 miles away and they dont have exact models in stock im interested in trying. Regards Sten

First point - Both are great companies. Both started in the 70's. Taylors are known because their US. Furch has stayed a smaller company = possibly better attention to detail? Furch is an established company, but from Europe, harder and more expensive to import. Have a great Taylor - love it. BUT - I have wanted a Cedar Guitar. Furch fits this well and the reviews Ive heard are outstanding. I just ordered a Blue G - CM from a dealer 200+ miles awa from me. I'm glad I was able to order the exact one that I wanted. I will get it next week sometime. I think hands down the Furch will be a better option than the 214ce. It's all a personal prefernece - but I would go furch over 214. My Taylor is a 324. I will never part with it, but really exited to get my first furch!!! Happy decision making to you!!! Oh, buy the way - I looked at many websites for furch - and inventories are getting sold out across the country - not sure why - maybe covid? My point is my dealer 200+ miles away has his furch supplier in Nashville, and a call was made for his new furch order - I had him ask if they had my Blue GA-CM in stock - and they did. I think inventories might be getting tight - Id try to see if your dealer can call his supplier in Nashville. I think they all use the same place in Nashville...

Furch have been available to Europe for a couple of decades or so and what I love best about them is that they're still handcrafted (an order takes 13 weeks from start to finish) - what's more you can opt to have a 43mm, 45mm or 48mm nut width! Furch are not mass-produced on an assembly line like those shockingly bad Taylor guitars are these days. (The only thing 'high-end' about Taylor's are their rip off prices!!). To be fair, you can find a Lemon Grove built Taylor from around 40 years ago, then grab one. Those were the days when they were hand built by Bob Taylor himself. I've had Taylor's and wouldn't touch one now that I own two Furch's. (One is actually a Stonebridge, which is the same thing)

Larivee is a Canadian company (1967: Toronto, 1977, Victoria, British Columbia, 1982: Vancouver) that opened a second factory in Oxnard, California 45 years later on.......

They're good but I wouldn't prefer them over a Martin or a Guild made in USA which is my favorite

Thank you Nikolai! Each person has different tastes and that's totally fine. We hope you have a fun with your guitars! Greetings

Well now I am intrigued. They sound great on the video. I'd really like to get my hands on them to play them in person.

please do a complete review on 'Orangewood Oliver M live' . I requested a lot of youtubers but no one is responding. i hope you'll show some kindness i really want to buy a new budget guitar and this is my first choice.

Deepak Baraily I have only seen him show guitars that he sells in his store. Orangewood does not have dealers - they direct ship to buyer- no dealers, thus lower cost

I have a lefty orangewood Morgan. 275.00. I did an ab comparison to a solid wood ooocjr Martin. Returned the Martin.. Yes that good. 🎸😎

I'd like to see a Furch against a Martin.

Both great brands.. I prefer Furch though :)

I have a Red Plus Gc-CR and a Martin HD-28. Both are top-class instruments. The Martin is full, robust, rich. the Furch is more delicate, more of a ringing tone, and feels faster in response. My Martin excels at flatpicking and muscular strumming (like playing the Eagles), and the Furch brings out the nuances of lighter fingerpicking.

one note, actually in Czech "CH" is pronounced differently from Engllish: "CH" sounds same way like "J" in Spanish ("Juan"), so it is better to pronounce it not as "FurCZ" (like in "Czech"), but more like "FurJ" (J like in Spanish "Juan"). I know, difficult .. ;-) Still terrific guitars regardless of pronounciation 🙂

The Furch factory is 100 kms from where CF Martin was born in Saxony.

Nitpick: Furch guitars started in1981, not the 1970's, great guitars.
@imacconnell5 жыл бұрын
Hans Van der Meulen nitpick: Frantisek Furch was commissioning guitars to friends and fellow musicians in the 70s. He started officially making them as a business in 1981. You’re correct though, great guitars.

The Czech Republic was never, ever part of the Soviet Union. It was under the boot of U.S.S.R. just like Hungary, Poland, East Germany etc. Please get your facts straight. Otherwise I like very much your videos, keep on with the good work.

Brad Maier a good eye. That’s because they too, favor the Grand Auditorium body shape. However, you will get a lot of Crazy tonewood combinations of woods in the Furch/Stonebridge lineup. Cedar/Koa, Sinker Redwood/Rosewood, Spruce/Cocobolo. These guys aren’t afraid to experiment. Especially when you see their Master Series.

Dangit gotta have that second one lol spruce/rosewood. Chris! Message me the price on those beauties man those are awesome gotta pay my guitar off first.

His name is pronounced with a "U" like the first "U" in Albuquerque and not with a "U" like in Burger. The "CH" is more like the spanish way to pronounce the "J" in the name "Julio".....
