@@lindajohnson4204 we do...yup. I used to haul chemical tank and pulled a lot of Dow material. Used to fill a 5 gallon bucket with a chemical used like Round up, but was way more powerful. Whatever you sprayed it on, grass, weeds or anything would never grow there. You definitely didn't want to use it on lawns, garden areas, or areas where you wanted growth. I sprayed it around the rocks and walkways, driveway, mailbox....that was 20 years ago.... even today... NOTHING grows in those spots anymore.

Hey Kevin. I'm going to share a technique I used a few years back and still use to help keep myself from asthma. Back in 2012 I had a ruptured bowel and I only had about a 25% chance of survival because I went completely septic. Even had an ostomy bag for 7 months that (🙏🏻) was reversed. However, I know our Lord had bigger plans for me and I made it through because of Him. While I was healing in the hospital for 5 weeks, I decided that while prayer is a wonder, I needed to do my part to heal as well. So I imagined all my white blood cells as surpercharged Pacmen, eating their way through all my infection. Yes... I even played the sound in my head... lol. I asked Our Father to give them infinite lives and mega strength and the means to overcome all those nasties. I would start at my feet and work my way up through my whole body, chomp, chomp, chomp. I have read a lot on visualization and its benefit and don't feel it to be a woowoo thing as God gives freewill to use the abilities He provided in our Creation. (Longvwindedness being of of mine) So move forward to the last 4 years... I have had horrible asthma after exposure in the work place to methane and black mold in tge 90's. I decided if Father God would save me from all that other stuff, I could ask for the means to heal my lungs to go from using a rescue inhaler 4-5 x a day to having to use it maybe 3 or 4 times a year. The key for me was more visualization. Working in a bad enironment (bc we all know big business doesnt care) I knew the air wasn't as say, fresh, as it could be. I wore masks everyday long before The Coof made it so "fashionable". To overcome that, I pictured whatever was in my lungs would have (to me) a gross green or gray or brown color. And that the air outside was like pure light of Father God infused diamonds of Life. Good oxygen vs bad yuck. I'd come out of work and the moment I got out - BIG breath of clean blessed diamond sparkle air in through nose, hold, release through mouth and picture everything that was bad in that building air as coming out from my mouth. And that stuff had gray or yucky greeness to it, it fell to the ground and dissipated. I did this the entire way to my car, feeling The Father's blessing on each intake of air. In, hold, out In hold out. Over and over And I thanked Father God and, importantly my body (myself, my spirit of belief in prayer and miracles) for releasing all that didn't serve my Higher Good. I still do this if I'm around scents that bother me as I was overly sensitized from all the mold exposure back in the 90's. I'm not that girl to go to Bath n Body Works. Just give me good old water and a relatively non- odorous soap. Anyway.... maybe you could try it for a bit. And you have the advantage of that sweet, sweet clean air at your altitude to aid you. It truly is God's Country compared to the Valley. Don't beat yourself up. We're afterall, only human. I know you don't eat a lot,but maybe a one day fast to help clear your body. I'll be saying prayers for you for release and renewal and a positive outcome to this exerience. PS- love the torch weedeater method. Extra hug for Dexter and pets and scratches for the whole Woof Pack.

Oh, I forgot to say that my Yorkie, Joey was terrified of our bug zapper and refused to go outside but eventually he got used to it and it doesn't make him scared even when a moth sizzles for a long time. He doesn't even care anymore. I just tried to change his attention to the zapper by playing with a squeaky toy and the other dogs were outside with him at the same time. I have Joey the Yorkie, Audrey the Pomeranian and Sugar the Bichon Frise.

Kevin we use Epsom salt, vinegar, dawn dish soap and water. Mix well and use a sprayer. It kills weeds quite well. We have dogs and wildlife on our property so we don't want to take chances with things like roundup. With the Epsom salt you want to mix it in very hot water to dissolve it.

Kevin, As long as you feel ok now and didn't get any symptoms while you were burning the weeds, I think that being in the open air diluted the fumes enough to not cause any effects or damage to your lungs. My Round-up required dousing the weeds in my driveway cracks 2 times and they didn't get killed. I ended up having to pull and weed-wack the weeds. It was a waste of money for me too. Mae Mae won't have to walk with her new backpack sling, and it will make her leg feel better and protect her from stickers from cactus and snakes. I would be deathly afraid of snakes with my babies running around.

CVK …..I love your content and I’m a loyal subscriber for 8 years. I have a couple of bits of information you might find helpful! First, the cinder rock you have spread on your property is porous. All of the Round Up or any other liquid you spray on will be absorbed into the rocks. Any weed killer can only work when the ingredients reach the roots of the plants being sprayed. Watch carefully for the next good rain you get. You will see how the weed killer works when it is washed into the soil that grows your weeds. Second, you have done an amazing job with your property. You are inspiring others to want to create positive changes in their life. Thank you for adding interesting content for all your viewers! As always, ……..and Jesus is My Savior !!! 🙏👍👍🙏

@rustyshakelford7934 I agree. Kevin was expecting it to work instantly. I mix a concentrate and in my 15gal ATV sprayer. In 2 days you see some wilting and in about a week most of the frail weeds are shriveled up. Just don’t apply it upwind and wear gloves when mixing it. Walmart has several different brand of concentrate. Twenty-four bucks made 10 gallons and I had some leftover.

When you are sitting outside by the zapper, put Dexter in the backpack. The enclosed space will help him feel safe. Your calm presence will help him feel safe. He won’t be able to run away. Do that daily, but don’t let him out until he is calm. It will help him overcome his anxiety. Always reward his calmness. Ignore the anxiety; you don’t want to accidentally reinforce it.

I’d keep the dogs away from where you sprayed too. They could pick it up on their feet and ingest it if they lick. Might be worth it to waste some water & spray down those areas real good to get it off the surface.

KEVIN!!!!! I am a retired chemist. I used to write MSD sheets. PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING: 1) Determine the exact ROUNDUP product you used. Online, find the MSDS that corresponds to that product. 2) Print off that MSDS and read it, paying attention to any time it says inhalation. 3) If you start feeling bad, especially breathing, go to the ER, tell them your story, and BE SURE TO BRING THE MSDS WITH YOU. This will save countless precious minutes in your treatment. I'm not a doctor, so I cannot give you medical advice, but please do the above, and I hope all will be well with you. The main chemical in weed killer is basically just a heavy salt. It's not flammable/combustible. It's likely that any smoke is from the isopropylamine binder/base. That is highly flammable and usually produces black smoke when burned. If you didn't smell or experience any effects similar to exposure to ammonia (burning eyes, burning lungs, blurred vision ect...) you are likely ok. Put it this way, you would have known if you goofed up long before you were 3/4 done. Not that I know anything about anything, I'm just an old nerd that reads a lot.

I have only found a few cacti on my 36a. A few prickly pear and one yucca. Mostly grass and trees. Your man card is fine!

I wouldn’t worry too much about the roundup fumes; doubt anything will happen after one exposure. However, for the safety of the woof pack, I wouldn’t use any more where they can walk or lay on the treated ground. Vinegar, vinegar/epsom salts/dawn works well and no toxic worries. I’ve even resorted to rock salt for a persistent crepe myrtle that kept coming back too close to the house. As for Dexter, maybe try giving him treats for awhile when it buzzes. He’ll associate the noise with a reward.

Kevin call the Vet and talk to him about you and the babies and see if it's harmful to you and the woofpack. I will keep you and the woofpack in my prayers 🙏 ❤. We 💘 love you and the woofpack.

I would say for his peace of mind and peace of living I would get rid of the bug zapper, poor baby. 💗

I honestly don’t think a small amount of that smoke will hurt you -You weren’t breathing it in for hours and it wasn’t that much of a patch -probably, a lot of that round up has already evaporated anyway-I certainly wouldn’t spend anytime being anxious about it -God Bless 🥰

Put your hand on the surface where the dogs paws are touching and make sure it isn't too hot for their feet. Cute little pups.

All companies have to post their MSDS material safety data sheets. And should have a hot line. I urge you to check it out. Ya never know what the long or short term affects will be. Also Dexter is probably also hearing the electric hum. It can be quite loud on things like that zapper. They are supposed to attract bugs, why not move it farther away and see what happens.

Did you know that if a bear puts on his shoes and socks everyday, he will still be bearfoot?

Russ did you know you can’t put your left shoe on first? Because no matter which shoe you put on first there is always one left lol

You need to de-sensitive Dexter to bug zapper. Unplug and place where you hang out; on the ground..other dogs will approach and smell; and he will follow the lead. Can also leave a treat farther away and then reduce the distance a bit; until treats are right next to it.

I would never use round up around my dogs. My ex killed all our chickens and ducks after spraying round up.

I think a one time thing with the roundup will be ok. Lots of different things you can try that are natural. I do like the propane burn, as long as no fires, good you're prepared with water. Pups looked comfy in the carrier. 🙂👍

I’m pretty sure you will be okay, the space is outside so you were well in a ventilation area. I sure hope Dexter over comes the bug zapper soon. Have a great day
