All the hate in the comments about him “giving up” is ridiculous! The man is attempting something most wouldn’t dare do and he’s doing it for a worthy cause.

Paul himself said he's given up on his WR goall. Not ridiculous.

Were you guys really planning on breaking the WR? I dont see any relevant training he did for this - back to back 75 mile days, heat training, etc. Kinda seemed like he was training for a slower pace anyway?

Paul what you are doing it's something impossible for the average person... You are amazing!! Keep on going forward brother!! We'll raise a million and you'll be hitting NYC Strong!!!

As expected Paul is not doing as well as he thought he would. 16 days in, his average mileage has dropped to 56.8 miles per day and it will continue to drop. But he is doing alright, considering his small amount of ultrarunning experience.

It seems like the team also didn't do as specific planning as they should have, sounds like they're winging a lot of really important pieces. Bummer. But so, so impressive none the less!

Who would have thought running in the desert during daylight hours when you train in the northeast isn’t a great plan.

Keep going Paul. Been following ever since you announced your run brother! Doesn’t matter if it takes you 100 days. The fundraising is so much more than what these trolls think especially with a teenage daughter that struggles with mental health and cutting. I can’t wait for you to come thru Pennsylvania! I’ll be there with some water and Oreos for you 🙌🏽

More than anything, this video put the spotlight on his team and their poor planning. You could argue he would be on pace if he never underwent that first day of overheating. Every little thing is a domino effect. But still for a good cause.

That’s not the point, it’s the lack of preparation by the whole team. If I was Paul I’d be pretty pissed at my crew chief for planning wrong routes and lack of awareness regarding running in the desert.

@@lumanwalters_yeah he obviously wasn't prepared or qualified for the record but if you think Speedgoat 50k is any indicator at all for success at this kind of run you clearly have no idea what it takes.
