I can really relate to the pressure to make "perfect" art while using higher end supplies so it doesn't feel like it's been wasted (especially if funds to purchase said supplies are limited). However, I've learned in the long run it can be much better to invest in decent quality materials at a price where I don't feel like I'm wasting it or that the material is so poor in quality it falls apart on its own.

You did so well! So cool to see the paint dry in the time lapse. The hair is amazing. Fabriano Artístico 300gsm is hard to beat. I make my own "perfect" sketchbooks. I buy the large sheets and bind them as I please. Bookbinding is worth learning to make my own version of what is perfect for me. Plus I can make many sketchbooks with $75 😊

It turned out amazing! It was so cool and yes a little frustrating to watch this come to life in the livestreams. You were (and are) so open about your way of working and what works for you. Bombarded by questions often repeatedly the same ones you answer them all patiently and with live and kindness. Of course mixed in with a bit of feisty conversation with Donna that makes us all feel like watching our parents❤

Although not related to the video, I got a sketchbook in 2019 which was pretty expensive so I didn’t draw in it at that time because I thought such a cool sketchbook deserves the best art, now I have finally given up on that thought, I can only produce the best art if I practice enough in the sketchbook itself!

It's totally new to me that there is a $75 sketchbook. In my opinion, you can't ruin a sketchbook with art that's drawn or painted in it, but that's what they're there for. Even though $75 seems like a lot to me, it's an expense that you'll have for quite a long time, it has 44 pages, i.e. 22 sheets. It takes a few months to get through it, if you sit on it for a few hours per painting. Well, if it were up to me, I would call it a watercolour art book, for sketches I think such thick 100% cotton paper is way over the mark. and it is nothing other than high-quality watercolour paper with 300g and 100% with hot press or cold-press texture. I saw that it was $20 less at Jacksons Art.

I don't think you could ruin a sketchbook with "bad art". In my opinion, I don't think there is such thing as bad art. Yes, your drawings and paintings could look better than other ones you've made but that doesn't mean that they are bad. Sometimes mistakes are made and you need to redo things but that doesn't mean it's not good. It just shows that we can learn from our mistakes and make beautiful things out of it. I think your art looks incredible, even if you make a mistake. Your videos are so inspiring to me and thank you for helping me become a better artist ❤
