Still making money from Doctor Who while slagging it and saying you're never watching again has become an internet staple these days, in particular, the butt hurt right-wing and their klingon cronies, lost in a world that has passed them by. What's the point of saying you're leaving the show alone only to go straight back to it the moment your viewers abandon you? Surely it's time this (and other clone channels) should stop altogether and just move on with their lives if they hate doing videos about shows and films they hate, instead of continuing to milk the cock of capitalism in their gagging mouths? Or does Trump's cum really taste that good?

Steven Bailey Capaldi era was the worst one up to this point until Chibnal took over. Yeah there were great episodes but Moffat clearly had run out of ideas and was not really enjoying the show. Kind of demonstrates how bad this has been so far though, with people looking back at that era in pleasure. He was no one to understand him, everyone are focusing on his wife death and cancer, so he tries to find the one who will. But screw this! However while all the Doctors have show autistic traits (though I'm leaving 8th and War Doctors out as we haven't seen enough of them on TV) something about the moment came across as "off" and out of character. There was no attempt at sympathy in her reaction which felt wrong. Even though the Doctor at his least personable (1 or 6) or most manic (4 or 11) may have with out warning struggled with what to say they would have found a way to express empathy, 13 just came across as unpleasant. Honestly through out this episode I thought that Ryan would stop traveling with the Doctor and stay on Earth. We see that he's afraid of losing time with his friends and family, mainly his best mate who seems to be afraid of going outside/interacting with people. Having confronted that nightmare in this episode, I thought that it would lead him to see that he wants to spend more time and be with his friends and family and stay on Earth. The best part is that it would totally be in line with his character arch. When we first see him, he's abrasive and doesn't like spending time with people, mainly Graham, but he's wanting to do more. The he meets the Doctor, goes on a couple of space adventures and comes back to this episode where he sees that he missed a bunch of messages from his friend and couldn't be there in his time of need, he then confronts his fear, stays with his friend and helps him out, this learning how to appreciate spending time with the ones you care about. BUT NO, they didn't do that and he keeps traveling with the group leading to this episode being pointless. Damn it!

Here's how the BBC responded to the controversial scene: “We never set out to upset our viewers with what we show and this episode tackled some sensitive themes. The episode used dreams and nightmares to explore the inner lives of the companions. Thanks to Zellin’s nightmare powers, Ryan, Yaz, and Graham were forced to confront their worst fears, many of which relate to the way traveling with the Doctor has changed their lives. “When Graham opened up to the Doctor about his fear of his cancer returning her response was never meant to be dismissive. The Doctor’s friend was scared, and we see her struggling to deal with the severity of the situation. The intention of the scene was to acknowledge how hard it can be to deal with conversations on this subject matter. When faced with these situations, people don’t always have the right words to say at the right time, and this can often lead to feelings of guilt. By showing the Doctor struggling to find the right words, the intention was to sympathise with all those who may have found themselves in a similar position. “We hope this has helped to address your concerns, but please be assured your feedback has been raised with the programme’s Executive Producer.” That is a sorry excuse for an "apology." What's even more asinine are the Jodie-Bots who tried to justify the scene by saying things like "The Doctor is an alien, she doesn't have the same emotions like humans do." Other Doctors have dealt with expressing emotions and being harsh to their companions, but they always understood grief, trauma and humanity. Jodie just comes off as an unlikeable c-word.

Felt like the episode had some great stuff in it. All characters had good development (except the doctor). Learning that yaz has left her family before adds to her leaving again with maybe some guilt. Ryan also feeling guilt and missing home will affect later decisions and Graham learning that The Doctor doesn't know how to respond to heavy life problems. However these will doubtfully pass into other episodes because why would a series continue problems from one episode to the next. That would be silly
@davidbray59824 жыл бұрын
4/10 is generous in my opinion, this episode was shockingly bad. What happened to the rage of 9? The steaks of 10? The insanity of 11? The sorrow of 12? Those doctors felt like they MATTERED. 13 just feels unimportant. 11 saved all of time and reality from the end of the universe. 13 helped Yaz get over her insecurities as a police officer in Sheffield. Rose looked into the heart of the Tardis to obliterate the Daleks, and save Earth from a slave-like existence. Ryan recommended therapy to his friend. Do you understand what I'm trying to convey? The steaks are so low with 13, I just can't bring myself to care about each episode. Mundane. For me, this episode would hardly crack a 2/10. I wish I hadn't bothered watching it.

There was a good villain in this episode. And them conquering their fears to turn the immortal's creations against them was a good idea, but they just rushed the resolution. And it was rushed to speed run character development for the three companions, because they probably can't or don't want to give them episodes to properly develop.

i actually liked the ending of this ep tbh. I felt like i related to ryan mate in terms of the concept of lonliness and that yaz and the police officer is an important figure in her life (tho the implication of suicide was weak af) but the bit w the doctor was just flat out TONE DEAF. i love having a message about mental illness and fear where the final message given is "dont talk to your friends because theyre socially awkward and will pretend to not listen."

I’ve been watching a lot of series 4 this past week and one thing I’d love next series is if the current crop of companions get replaced by someone who can actually speak up to the doctor. In Planet of the Ood the doctor makes a remark about how clothes are made in a similar fashion to the slavery of the ood and Donna basically yells at him for taking cheap shots at humanity yet this series we have full on lectures about climate change and plastic waste, plus the doctors reaction to Graham, and they don’t say a word.

philip the great Yeah I have to agree, any main character who is meant to be liked should NOT be written to just write off a serious heart to hearts, if she had said something along the lines of there's others that can help you I probably wouldn't mind it but she just leaves Graham, one of the greatest companions we've had, with no pieces of advice or wisdom, not even a friendly word which every Doctor has had... I think it's more of I really can't see her in line with any other Doctor, she's way too different to even seem like the same character we've known since 2005, and some since the 1960's

The episode had some things that weren't bad, but the overall plot and pacing was just an absolute mess. The way the villains were suddenly beaten felt ridiculously rushed. I mean, we didn't even see Tahira actually conquer her fear (which was supposed to be a key plot detail), and we didn't even see what happened to her afterwards. I still have some small hope for this show, as the new Master is pretty good, Captain Jack's making his return, and the setup for future episodes has interested me. But for now, Doctor Who is pretty damn weak. I am excited for those Oscar movie reviews, though.
