With the bit with the Doctor screaming at the Daleks to kill him, it sort of makes sense in regards to when the last time he met them he'd lost Rose and it ties in when in Daleks in Manhattan he says "they survive they always survive while I loose everything". Think about it you've not only lost your planet and your people to these things but they resulted in you loosing the woman you love as well; of course he'd be dealing with some emotions during this whole ordeal and I feel at this point he's just bloody sick of them so offering up himself as a sacrifice makes some sense.

U have a good point. I rate this episode 8/10 Mainly because it had Martha in it, if she wasn't in this episode then I'd rate it 9/10 I find Martha as kinda an annoying brat. She's mean anytime someone mentioned Rose, when she left the doctor she joined UNITS military task force (which if course uses guns something the doctor doesn't like) And when Martha met Rose she was kinda mean to her. Atleast Rose and Sarah Jane became friends after the had a argument, Martha just kinda got stuck on hating Rose

The thing about living in New York is you quickly realize 99% of "New York" scenes in movies and television are actually filmed in New York-like cities like Vancouver. Even quintessential films like Annie Hall have scenes where they're talking at the arch on 14th Street in Washington Square Park, turn the corner, and are suddenly 40 blocks north at Central Park. But who cares? So many movies are set here that the bad accents and sets from Daleks Take Manhattan really don't bother us. It's just for fun.

I kinda think that you're being needlessly harsh towards this episode. Yes it's got flaws, but there were many things that you twisted into something negative. 1. Frank didn't abandon his family in desperate times, he was strong enough and noble enough to realize that he was getting to be a burden on family resources, and left to fend for himself, so that the rest of his family might be able to live semi-comfortably. 2. Well, Solomon is shown to be a sort of clever man, so you can probably say that he realized that despite the doctor having an english accent, there's a bit more to him than that. 3. I mean, just because Tallulah is a lady, doesn't mean that people have treated her like one, she's definitely got that character that implies she's no stranger to being treated like dirt. And even if you disagree, you can't assume that she's not endured grotty little haters in her life. 4. In the episode, they mention that the human shells are completely empty, everything that they were has been irreversibly lost. So the doctor just made the best of a bad situation. Even if they can't restore the shells, he feels that sec's plan is the next best thing. i do think you did make some pretty good points, though. One that stands out to me was how they only brought pig slaves up to deal with the doctor, martha and "the pig and the showgirl." One of the Daleks could find another way up, and fly up to the doctor from ground level, and the doctor could have a climactic showdown on top of the empire state building with the dalek. The Dalek firing at him and the doctor taking cover behind various bits of scaffolding. In the end, the dalek is (somehow) defeated, with it's "elevate" malfunctioning, and it plummets from the top of the empire state building to it's explosive death down below. That would have been awesome to see. P.S. at 12:58, you've just inadvertantly proved that david tennant does a much better "do it" than Shia.

Honestly, I kind of wonder if the series could ever try and touch upon the whole hybridization concept from these episodes again, and potentially do more with it. I honestly expected you to completely despise this Dalek story and find nothing good about it considering the hate it gets, so your somewhat balance between honest criticism and praising what was interesting about my literal favourite two-parter left me pleasantly surprised. To me there are reasons for some of the weird stuff that goes on (though not all of it) and what always impressed me was just how much Loren’s performance got to me as Dalek Sec. He does a lot of subtle things such as the very gradual change in the way he speaks and the use of certain words even compared with the Doctor. He’s probably the smartest and definitely he most artistic Dalek there is, so seeing those emotions change him to the point where what the Doctor calls gene solution, he poetically calls “the life blood”, is really interesting. Apparently it was his choice to even do that voice as the hybrid, because he was originally told he could just use his normal voice and didn’t think that sounded right. Also in Frank’s defence, back in the day lots of older kids of families leave home to find work so that their family doesn’t have to feed them too, and often send money home if they can. Aaaaaaand the soundtrack music called Evolution of the Daleks has Hebrew lyrics that apparently mean “What is going on Sec” which was hilarious.
