I saw Jerry Lee Lewis sit a piano on fire Charlotte coliseum in the 60s. I was there, I saw it. I didn't know anything about upstaging Chuck Berry. The old Charlotte coliseum went wild. I was just a kid and completely blown away.

Thanks for this information. I'm working on my own video about wild men of rock and roll and I'm going to include a clip from the Dennis Quaid bio pic to illustrate how wild Jerry Lee was.

Rest in peace Killer. Burning piano or not, what a legend. Been playing your songs nonstop in my car since hearing of your passing.

NO. If he did, don't you think it would've been reported in the press at the time? Yet several biographers and researchers have searched the archives, and found nothing. Also, Jerry's bassist (and father-in-law) at the time J.W. Brown said that it never happened.

I read Chuck Berry's autobiography & nowhere in his book did he mention Lewis setting fire to a piano on any rock n roll shows they did in the late 50's.

Dennis Quaid played Jerry Lee Lewis in a bio-pic and set the piano on fire.

You would think that if he really did light a piano on fire that surely somebody would still be alive today who was at that show. It's an awesome story, but I doubt it actually happened.

A symbiosis two disparate commingle in a spiritual level and create a new contextual quantum field a shared history, kinship, a camaraderie. My wholehearted condolscences I saw his film biography as a teenager with Dennis Quaid and Winnona Ryder as well as Buddy Holly with Gary Busey.

Shame on you. Reporting what "some accounts" were and adding a despicable remark. In your own words you admit it might not be true, but you felt compelled to include it.
