I’m a 70 year old retired neurosurgeon; I’m a Christian and love the Lord Jesus. I read the Koran decades ago and thought that the book was poorly written, disorganized and hateful to the “people of The Book” (Jews and Christians)! I knew that I would never be interested in becoming an adherent. Only recently did I learn of Robert Spencer and Jay Smith. They have taught me a lot about the False Religion of Islam. That they hate the Jews and Christians is obvious but what Mr. Spencer teaches is phenomenal and helpful. Thanks for having him talk on your KZbin channel!

I have a strong feeling that "Muhammad" is a title not a person's name and the title pertains to Jesus Christ - just imagine that Quran only existed about 600 years when the Bible has been already completed - the Bible was written by many different people and in different dispensation of time/era and yet its teachings are all the same and the chronological aspect from the creation and much more about the future... truly the Bible is a living book created by the living God who is spirit in nature - the One True God that Jesus Christ teaches (the Father) but unfortunately, the Catholic Church which claimed that they are the continuation of Christ Church just made Christ himself as God (and worst includes another one, the Holy Spirit thus creating the trinity doctrines that can never found in the Bible, same as the name Catholic Church). Anyways, as what the apostles have foretold when they die, there will be false prophets that will replace them and will be in sheep clothing and will teach a "different jesus" (a God) rather than the God that Jesus wanted all the people to believe and be save come judgement day (the Father). Those who believe in trinity doctrine should look up in the entirety of the Bible if there was just even once that the "father-god" pray to Jesus or the holy spirit-god says anything of it being a God - considering that trinity means co-equal 3 entities in 1 God (3-in-1 god).

As to how much sense it makes, anyone not indoctrinated by his Christian culture would take a look and smile indulgently at the puerility of it. Taking just the very fist page: "In the beginning..." Who was there to see what happened ? Where does the Bible say how whoever wrote that got their info? Then a few lines later, God creates a few things and creates the sun on the fourth day. Right there, if you have an objective, lucid mind, you are going to think: How could there have been three previous days without the sun? There is no such thing as day or night without the sun. The rest of the book gets a lot worse with the revolting violence, superstitions of all kinds, immorality, etc. but that first page alone should make you stop and brush the book aside as primitive myth. The stars of the sky fall on the earth like ripe figs????? That' in the Apocalypse. Each star is billions of times bigger than Earth, and they fall like figs on it? Muhammad in the Quran may well be Jesus. Ebonite Christians (now extinct) believed that Jesus was a prophet of God. Muslims were originally Ebonites. Mecca was actually Petra in Jordan, not modern-day Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Muhammad of the Hadees and Sira was perhaps somebody else. He was probably an Abbasid king.

As an American I have to say that it is not your religion that we fear or even think about. It is the faction that teaches it's children here in American mosques to hate us non believers. What is really needed is proof of a written timeline of events for both religions. But even then it doesn't matter. Both believe in one creator..God/Allah. Both believe that it is important to wake up in the morning having the intent of making that connection even stronger. The rest is just history whether accurate or not. Jesus never wanted anyone to worship him. His message was to go within, connect with that devine aspect that all people have and be your best self. Religions should not be separating your fellow man from that journey . Wars should not be necessary if we all really understood and felt the love of our creator. It isn't necessary to prove your faith to anyone either by making a pilgrimage to a grave site of a prophet or praying in public. Spirituality is a private experience. Religions are about community of like minded individuals.

I am a former Muslim, became atheist 50 years ago, and I am flabbergasted at Robert Spencer's assertions about Mohamed. Not that I necessarily disagree with the general conclusion that it is possible Mohamed never existed, but rather how a rational man can apply such rigorous historical analysis to Mohamed and at the same time believe in the divinity of another man, Jesus, whose story is a thousand times less logical and believable. I too believed for a long time that Mohamed was a purely mythical character, but I recently found the work of some serious historians, among them Mohamed Ali Amir-Moezzi, who show convincingly that Mohamed did exist, but he had just about nothing to do with the Mohamed of the Muslims. These historians show that Mohamed was an Arab converted to a Judeo-Christian sect, which was rejected both by the orthodox Jews for accepting Jesus as the messiah, and by the Christians for refusing to believe Jesus was the son of God. Mohamed believed that the end of the world was going to happen in his lifetime and Jesus would return and inaugurate His Kingdom. Moezzi recently co-wrote a huge three-volume book about the history of the Quran. The "introduction" is 1000 (one thousand) pages. He wrote in French, and he has a number of videos on KZbin, mostly in French but a couple are in English.
