We have shipping documents for months now that mass production is starting or even already started in Q4 2024, expect more documents and leaks in the coming weeks. No consumer electronics company on this planet starts to mass produce their device 1 year in advance, they start 4-6 months before launch, meaning the console won't come any later than June 2025 and nothing will ever change that.

I think Nintendo has missed out on so much opportunity with its systems specifically with the switch in the joy con situation with the colors although they did come out with different types of systems they could’ve done so much more. But in all seriousness, I think as well as the first system had the same issue with their not being very many games first party wise for the new system, so shall it be for the switch 2.. Game Studios and Nintendo themselves have to match their first party titles with the system so it could be attractive to buy. Last time I checked, the leaks are not doing so well on that part so I’m pretty sure that’s got something to do with the system not being announced. Personally, I think the system’s already ready. But they just have to have the software to come along with it.

Honestly, after Brothership, I am STUFFED until the Switch successor inevitably gets revealed. And even then, much LIKE the Switch original back in 2017, I didn't get the Switch on launch but instead with the Super Mario Odyssey bundle with the themed case. And I probably won't get the Switch successor at launch. I am... not in a huge hurry to get that (I am SPOILED in the backlog department.) And I guess not for nothin' but the Nintendo Switch library is CRAAAAAAAAZY. Even if people wanna talk down on the sales of games like Echoes of Wisdom or Paper Mario TTYD remake, those are two more games on the crazy pile. And now we have Brothership coming this week, and basically ALL Xenoblade games will be on Switch now (I still can't believe it. Lol) I speak only for myself here but I imagine that I am not alone there. Also, hot take: The Switch 2 "discourse" is more obnoxious and annoying than Nintendo NOT revealing the darn thing. 😐

I don’t care so much about impatient whiny gamers (myself included, I too have an inner child whose first word was “Gimme” and second was “now”) who want the Switch 2 already, but I do increasingly feel for developers whose timelines hinge on Nintendo announcing and releasing this hardware. Want a shot in the arm for the industry? Switch 2 can do it. Once we got past the half-way mark of 2024 it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to be announced this year. Especially after the holiday Switch bundles were announced. I think they'll announce it fairly early in 2025 and release it around summer. At this point, delaying much longer is hurting them financially.

It's hard to sell a system like the Wii U when it was around for a short time, and then Nintendo talking about a new system on the horizon. I had no idea about the Switch being in development when I bought my Wii U. I'd still have bought it since the Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii. Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 were great games that i got to experience on my Wii U. The only set back... i had to use Wii controllers.

I based my theory on the way the Switch was announced. We got a project name first and it came from Nintendo themselves. We don't even have a name for the console yet and since this has been the case I see them announcing it soon for release at the end of 2025. My guess is late November.
