Did Not Expect Guardians... / StarCraft

Terran vs Zerg is my strongest match up in StarCraft Remastered, and normally I know what to expect at all times. Not this game. No siree. This strong Peruvian Zerg player pushed me pretty hard, and helped make an awesome + fun, action filled TvZ macro game.

dude, me too. when his nat got taken out by those guards and he spent all his scans to find that zerg had bot left and top left taken.. I thought, ya you're dead bruh. if it was me, I would have straight panicked once I lost my nat and given up out of hopelessness. but, somehow.. SOMEHOW.. he was able to keep calm and recover.. that was unbelievable to me.

i was thinking just 2 siege tanks would have given him dominance of that last ramp standoff. He had a machine shop and tons of resources not sure why he didn't make any.

@@H3Vtux it looked like he was possibly just so focused on micro and maintaining control over so many parts of the map that he deprioritized the unit remake. it's a big mistake but very understandable given high stress and limited apm.

@@PawsAndKeys 99% a mistake. Probably morphed a bunch of Guardians, ran out of gas, came back for that one and hit the wrong button without realising.

@@ChristopherLMD The Guardian switch is basically intended to kill the Terran out of nowhere. If the Terran has Wraiths in time to defend it, you've already lost. You'd much rather spend that gas on another Guardian - which guarantees value - than a Devourer, which is a very expensive hot air balloon if Terran doesn't go air and questionably useful if they do.

They're good against mutas but nothing else. Resources are better spent on marines and vessels which are good against mutas and everything else. Also a starport making valkyries is not making vessels.

@@DontLookTheShoe1 You use the camera location keys (F1-F4), then you go back and forth between your production buildings (let's say control group 5 is one rax in center of buildings) and your rally point (aka F2, for instance). So the keystrokes would be: 5 - click a rax - F2 - right click 5 - click diff rax - F2 - right click *repeat for all production* Very useful for fastest map, BGH especially, since you'll have a ton more $$ and way more production. Still great in this mode obviously.

Science Vessel VS Zerg. OP

Another zerg who deluded that can overwhelms terran with direct ground approach. Not a single attempt for drop. Dark swarm,plague- all good but pointless in the middle of the map. He has had no clear idea about what he wants as end game. At the other side Artosis: between 10 and 13 min mark you can count entire zerg army which are: few lurkers(5 or 6) + pathetic muta floak+2-3 scorches and several hydra-links . Where is(for what) all the remaining zerg resource for? Not my place to advice you (just my opinion) but I think that 1-2 valk(or wraiths) would be very useful and also provide extra map intell.

any amount of valk or wraith means less science vessels...which are absolutely critical when going m&m with no tanks. valks/wraith also has no use versus ground while science vessel is useful against literally anything the zerg chooses. also, it would add an increased burden on attention and apm to add another unit type into the composition. going SK terran already leaves you with very few control groups and you would need to add another one if you chose to add an attacking air unit. Sometimes you see a few wraiths to deal with early-late game guards but you usually see the top terrans who are going for SK terran just use vessels against guards. In this particular game blackman ( the zerg), morphed 6 guardians and never made any air after that which would have meant any wraith or valk useless...but the main issue is that it is imperative to make nonstop vessels...battles and games are won or loss on the ability or inability to irradiate a defiler for instance.

The zerg was in a game-winning position when the guardians destroyed a ton of SCVs at the natural and forced the liftoff. Unfortunately, he played really passively after that point, using mass expos and turtling instead of going for more proactive plays like defiler drops. Defiler drops with cracklings are one of the most annoying things to deal with as Terran. I think Artosis aggression forced him to be scared and turtle and he was reacting to that for the rest of the game until he caved. Artosis is pretty good with Science Vessels as well and caught a lot of units for free. I'm a zerg player and I often forget to make enough Scourge to try to keep the Vessel count low. You could see the zerg switching into a more Hydra/Lurker based composition which I guess was intended to help kill Vessels and it kinda worked, but Hydras just aren't very good against SK Terran.
