Kerala is a really good state, plus they have a really good ruling party which has been ruling there for decades so their thinking is more long term, unlike other nationalist parties. My state has a nationalist party too, but our people here are really buisness minded, so we have a great economy.

By the way, Europe became civilized 1000years back and rich only 300 years back. India had been the richest country in the world for more than 80% of the world's recorded history. When the Brits arrived in the 1700s , India was the largest economy with more than 35% of the share of GDP of the world economy. India established the oldest University at Takshashila in 500 BC and the second oldest University at Nalanda in 500AD. So you see, India has a Rich Civilization and Ultra rich culture in knowledge, arts, science, music, dance , languages and architecture for atleast 5000 years. In comparison Europe in an infant who is just born. So don't compare India's civilization and culture with Europe.

I have bad experience. i ordered 1 egg curry. They brought 2 egg curries in one bowl and charged ₹120 per bowl. For ₹120 we can easily get a chicken biriyani or chicken/beef curry.

The reason why south India especially Kerala is so developed is the education system we have.. All the poliyician or great people we had teached only one thing educate yourself and question the inequality at the same time lot of our ancestors migrated to middle east countries and worked there they bring wealth to the state and the governments we had used the wealth properly..
