We’ll never truly know the extent of the damage. It goes well beyond the possible theft of a championship. Pretty much every AL contender as well as the whole AL West made decisions based upon the Astros season that year and after. The damage to careers as well can never truly be measured. Yuli Guriel made “Chinese Eyes” directed at Yu Darvish while they knocked him around. How much of that was on Darvish’s inability to make pitches is a mystery. And then there’s Clayton Kershaw, and Kennedy Jansen who thy lit up in Houston as well. Especially in the pivotal game 5. What you did Houston, will reverberate for years and years to come bringing negative karma with it. Everyone outside of Houston will forever be a fan of the opposite team you face. And you deserve it.

I live in Houston I’m not a big fan of baseball but I can tell you the city still appreciates the title. The thing I’m mad about is because the Astros were cheating and still couldn’t win a home game against the Nationals. That’s pretty horrible in my opinion. We do know the Dodgers would have won, though. The series went to 7 games and the most important game was game 5 in Houston. The Astros won that game like 13-12 or something and during that game Kershaw gave up a 4-run lead and a 3-run lead. Maeda was crushed in that game. Morrow was crushed in that game. Jansen was crushed in that game. Besides Jansen, the other 3 were basically lights out the rest of the series (including Kershaw who dealt in game 1 and 7 in LA). Without the cheating, the Dodgers would have smashed the Astros by like 10 runs in game 5 and would have won the series in 6.

Forfeit their postseason wins and award the Dodgers the WS title and Yankees the AL. May seem weird, but that is how it should be done. The Astros didn't earn the title and actually cheated on the field of the play. That is a forfeit and affected teams should be awarded. That is real punishment and correcting the record.

The Yankees should be awarded the ALCS title for that year if the cheating affected their game as well, but there doesn't need to be a series with LAD. Yes, it may seem weird to some, but this is how you correct the record when cheaters steal championships. The Yankees were robbed of a ALCS title in the WS and LAD were denied a WS title. The Astros would be forfeiting those games which leads to those titles being given to their opponents. Those banners need to come down and placed with the rightful winners. You award those who competed within the rules. What the Astros did warrant their competition being recognized as rightful winners.

You don't vacate the title. You award the Dodgers the title due to forfeit by the Astros. MLB has to make this hurt and awarding the Dodgers the title would be proper given the offense. Yes, none of us would like to see things like that happen, but the fact of the matter is that the Astros basically forfeited their World Series win by using technology to cheat during the WS. MLB shouldn't hold the view that they are changing history if they vacate titles. No, you don't have to vacate anything when you can make cheating amount to forfeiting. There should be consequences for teams who cheat using technology and the best option is to award wins to the losing team, and give losses by way of forfeit to the violators.

This is about their opponent using technology at home games that put them in a significant disadvantage. Teams that CHEAT that way should forfeit their wins, which in this case, allows the LAD to be named WS champions. LAD played the games. They took the field and didn't cheat; therefore, they should be the champs. Vacating the title makes no damn sense because it was a competition where two teams played for the title. If one team cheated to win, the other team should be announced as winners. The LAD earned the title because they competed within the rules. It is the ultimate punishment to lay down against cheaters and it should happen.
