Rock had to do whatever he could to get a bit of heat, which lets be honest was never going to stick. People were happy to see Rock back, and they were really happy when he actually redeveloped his character instead of going through his greatest hits. They would have known he'd get cheered soon after turning heel like he was in 2003. It's hard at that stage in your career to actually get heat when the fans have so much respect for your tenture and they don't want to boo you. It worked out because Cody was so over.

The deepest moment of this build-up for me was Hall of Fame night when Rock looked at Cody and said to him: "It's not business... (This is all just my personal opinion) What's funny and interesting to me is that HHH and the Rock in the later years of their careers have kinda switched roles. In their prime HHH was one of the best heels in wrestling and Rock was one of the best baby faces. However, at this stage in their careers Rock is way better at being an "evil authority figure" than HHH and HHH is way better at being a "man for and of the people" type of baby face.

I’m loving that it’s not just about the huge guys anymore. Vince loved his big boys and now that it’s in Paul’s hands, the high flying and limber guys have a way better chance. Rock built himself up too much to just see him do a little. It was a great match on night one but a lot of it was him just walking through the crowd. It’s not the old him and he could never go back to that. Due to age and conflicts with other projects regarding his health. Can’t keep bringing back old talent just to see them go through the motions. It’s always fun to see them cut promos but push the guys who wrestle week after week. Give them a chance on the mic. Let them grow. I’m excited to see what the next ten years look like!

All offense intended, Dwayne Johnson in no way should be allowed to hold a title in WWE again. That isn't dislike for him, it is the fact that at this stage of his career, the best thing he can do is put over people from now on. Yes, him and Roman winning that tag match night one of this year's Mania put Cody's accession over the top, but now Dwayne needs to do something he hasn't been doing in almost a decade: focus on movies and retirement from the squared circle.

“Canon” means something is an accepted, true part of a story. For example, in Star Wars, all of the movies are considered canon. But a lot of the old comics and books from the 80’s and 90’s have been made non-canon after new stories overwrite them. Or Call of Duty. The three original Modern Warfare games are canon with each other, but are not canon with the Black Ops story. Here, the Rock made it seem like Cody only had the two siblings when he did not mention his third, the sister. Making her not canon to the WWE storyline, even though she’s real.
