ge vvti internals holding in strong with all this rev limiter action, im a little more confident on my engine now lol

Curtis, been a fan and subscriber after watching 1st part of turbo install. I've had my 03 is for 12 years. Its an auto, looking to boost to 5lb max... for a long while. I have a few ? About oil return from turbo. Also looking for more info about ecu/vvti. Sorry this is a comment. I've never tried to dm anyone on KZbin. Not sure if I can. Need some info thx

Hey man. Just finished installing the cxracing kit on my IS. When I start the car, it idles fine, runs a little rich, unplugged o2 sensors and what not. I know the car isn’t going to run perfect since it’s not tuned yet, but when I let it idle for a little, I start getting smoke coming from the turbo/exhaust manifold area. It’s not thick smoke but I don’t keep the car on too long after it starts smoking because I don’t want something to catch fire or anything. Did you experience anything similar? I know people say it’s just the coating on the manifold burning off but I don’t know. Also, when I hit the gas, there is hesitation and after a while, the car stalls out and turns off, maybe not getting enough fuel? Also, what size bolts did you put on the turbo flange? And I’m guessing you didn’t put any nuts on the bottom side of the flange either? It’s very tight. Sorry for all of the questions, just wanted to get info from someone who has documented content of this kit. Thanks in advance. Love the content👍🏻

Its very common for everything to smoke when it gets to operating temp. This should only happen the first or second time you run the car to temp. If its still smoking you have an issue some where. I would check the drain line. My newest video I show a good solution for this. I did not use nuts under the turbo as there is no room, I ended up using allen bolts that seemed to work the best.

I have almost the exact same setup. Would like to pick your brain with this infinity unit. Can't ger the car to run. Dont know if I'm missing a step. Cant import calibration and can't seem to find one in my files. Any help would be appreciated

Can you get the car to run using the infinity wizard? How did you wire the harness?

Harness was from boomslang, I rewired the cam and crank negs. Other than that it was a pnp harness everything just plugs in. Updated firmware but fornaome reason cannot import calibration and car wont start. As soon as I unhook everything car runs.

jonebony when you wired the cam/crank negative did you disconnect them from the stock ecu? I have a video on it? Honestly i dont trust boomslang i had a lot of issues with his harness still have my vvti disconnected.

Yeah I bypassed the boomslang as I saw in your vid. I may be missing a step somewhere I just dont know where. Ive been through everything several times just pulling my hair out lol

On your is what emu did you use I have a full cx racing kit. Injectors. I’m a bit lost it’s my daily and I need to keep that cel off any ideas

C3GARAGE Media sounds good man, I’m doing the same setup on my 2jzge na-t Supra and I was wondering if I should change the head gasket or not. I had some trouble with a head bolt so I’m leaning to not changing it lol How’s your setup holding?

J_ H_II my set up is killing it! Putting 425 whp at 10psi to the wheels. Head gasket and studs are recommended but not necessary unless you are shooting for more power. I drift mine and beat the car hard no problems at all.
