MacKinnon is top 4 in goals, top 3 in assists, top 2 in points, not to mention 6th in plus minus. Kucherov is 10th in goals and well outside the top 100 in plus minus in spite of his point total. McDavid has almost 20 goals less than MacKinnon, and Matthews is only top 5 in goals. This shouldn't be much of an argument.

70 goal seasons are rare, no debate. Wayne Gretzky did it 4 times! Brett Hull had 3, Mario Lemieux had 2 and Jari Kurri had 1 70 goal season. I think it happened with 4 others but I could be wrong..."To, THE GOOGLE!!!"

I dont understand this Kucherov has a big point difference with the second guy. Tampa top scorer 2-5: combined 322 points, 125G (169 with kuchy)(42.95% 2-5 of total GF)(58.08% with luchy of GF) 291GF Colorado top scorer 2-5: Combined 307 points, 100g (151 with Mack) (32.89% 2-5 of GF) (49.67% with mack of GF) 304GF If you ask me, its a wash looking at the stats really. Colorado had the better depth while Tampa the top end. Gonna be curious to see who wins this

Let's not forget that this is still very subjective. It is what it is. It could also be possible that some players just didn't want to vote McDavid again... I'm not exactly sure how this works or who gets a vote but it is what it is!

Side note, I really don't think Matthews had a better year than Kuch. You can't argue that McDavid and MacKinnon deserve to be there, consistently but this year, I don't think Matthews really deserved it in a year when a bunch of people scored 40+ goals.

Keep in mind kucherov is a winger and of course right to mcdavid or matthews as centers they are more important and more responsible defensively. But name me a winger who can do what kucherov has done this season and also be great defensively. Right: nobody. And kucherov is not bad defensively even though he has many giveaways but thats a part of elite players and particulary wingers

As an Oilers fan, McDavid is impressive but he doesnt deserve either nomination this year. He had 2 injury stints, a bad system to overcome, and STILL did not overcome the accomplishments of Matthews, Kucherov, and McKinnon this year. Respect for McDavid aside, his year is NOT as good as the other nominees.

Mcdavid should be taken of the heart and Mathews should be on it to. Both lindsey and heart go hand and hand. Silly to not have the same top 3 for both.... they are basically the same trophy... with tiny details.... Just souly based off this season not... overall player... And Kuch and Mckinnon obviously had the best season overall out of any nhl player. There's no question

McDavid is regarded as the best player in the league. That doesn't mean he deserves to win Hart every season and he fell away and was left behind by the two who were consistent all season. McDavid was close but not quite at Kucherov and MacKinnon's level.
