Did The Xim Anti Cheat System Work in Overwatch 2?

I have still been running into Ximmers very consistently & have not gotten a notification confirming whether the Ximmer I reported was banned or not. I also hope that Blizzard decides to add a new category for cheating that specifically says Xim user. I usually report them under hacker & leave a comment saying, Xim user. I also hope that they don't have the problem R6 has right now where the higher-end Xims bypass the anti-cheat. They should not give them a warning ban & should perma ban them since about 90% of them have been cheating since Overwatch 1. Let me know your guys' thoughts on this problem & whether or not you've been running into Ximmers.

I've seen 20+ ximmers, way more than the seasons before the anti cheat combined, and only 1 got confirmed banned that I reported

The whole thing was a feint from the start. Even if there was a way to detect these devices when they were properly showing themselves as official controllers and sending proper official controller data you could just piggyback off an actual real official controller by soldering wires to it and then connecting a device to the joystick controls directly that are just analog inputs to a microcontroller. The options for detection of such devices are finite. Because of how vulnerable interfaces to meatspace are.

Ximming below masters was not common in ow2 but now people complain about it in plat. Either ximmers are smurfing with new/throwaway accounts or people just learned what a xim is and just blaming their loses on it for no reason.

There are Ximmers smurfing but there are definitely people who dont know what a Ximmer's gameplay looks like & throw it around too much when losing. I play at high diamond & masters.

ok i’m ngl i’m ximming and it usually takes me 20+ games to go against another person using xim but previously in the past before this update i never seen another ximmer.. theyre anti cheat might be working after all

I use to play xim on OW1. only because I got to top500 naturally on controller and every single person in top 500 was using a xim. I was a support player. I honestly had no choice. Personally I don’t think it’s a huge problem unless it’s a widow player or Mccree/Soj. Then they become the server admin. With the enormous projectile sizes and strong aim assist, most characters don’t even benefit from such a device.
