This to me is so much like what happened in boxing with that one douchebag streamer. Mean beef between boxers is just so much better for content, engagement and the financial health of the sport and it took a toxic streamer to get people to realize it. Maybe this happens with WC3, maybe it doesn't, but I'm so here for it! I was gonna play games today, but I've spent the entire day so far watching these streams! I do think people should keep the toxicity right around this level and don't take anything too seriously. No need to cause real beef, just keep it somewhat light hearted.

@krzysztofputerko1943
@krzysztofputerko1943 21 күн бұрын
@@Draeckon in warcraft 3 you usually don't pull workers to fight like you do in starcraft 1 and 2 becayse the worker count is much smaller(about 12/13(5 on gold and 7/8 on wood) workers in main base max in wc3, compared to about 24 workers(about 18 on minerals and 6 on vespene) in starcraft 2). Another thing is that the difference in stats between workers and even low tier combat units is much bigger in warcraft 3 than in starcraft. In starcraft a single zerg probe has actually better stats than a single zergling and similar to a single marine(without range tho). Meanwhile in wc3 most workers(except wisps) have about 200 and around 5-9 dmg per attack(depending on race). At the same time the most straightforward t1 units is a footman who has 420 HP 12,5 dmg per auto on average and 2 base armor. You can use your workers to def base vs cheese tho, but it's not as straightforward as it is in starcrafts. Undead is the only race who cannot do that at all. Human can, but they need to cast militia buff on their workers. It changes peasants to fast moving low tier combat units for a short period of time(stats similar to footmen) which sometimes can win you a fight but as I said, ou need to use that mechanic. Orc can place their workers in their supply buildings. In that case supply buildings will start shooting like towers do and the more workers they have inside(max 4 per burrow) the faster it shoots(kinda similar to terran bunkers but you fill them with workers instead of marines). Night elf has the most tricky workers in wc3. They cannot even attack but they have detonate ability. It allows you to kamikaze a wisp in order to deal dmg to summoned units and burn mana of heroes and spellcaster units. So it's common to pull about 2 wisps from your base in order to nuke summons and burn enemy mana when defending against cheese as NE.

Moba as a genre emerged from RTS, DotA2 was originally a WarCraft 3 mod. And even before that, you had Aeon of Strife in Brood War that was the proto-moba, albeit purely PvE, but with the familiar lanes of combat and cannon fodder crashing into each other while the players used their heroes and purchased reinforcements to push forward, while dealing with random events to shake things up. So really, you're suggesting going back to moba's roots, which I'm all for. lol

Watching this and the previous game I had a really interesting insight. Warcraft 3, stripped out of all the technical micro, macro, and all of the concepts pertaining to optimal play, is just a fleshed out and real life tabletop game. I mean... I probably passively realized that already when watching DnD as the stem of most games, but I've never seen a demonstration quite like this one. This gives me hope that an incredible RTS that reinvents the genre will do so by reviving and making viable these fumb cheeky strategies.
