Did they finally get it right? - GoPro Chesty - 90 Second Review

Over the years I've used a handful of different chest mounts. I haven't found the perfect one just yet, however, this one seems to be my go to one for the time being.

I agree 100%, the new chesty is sooo much better! Also as a hack you can wear it stealth too by wearing it under your shirt and then clipping the GoPro on the outside of your shirt into the chesty. Of course, the thicker the material, the less likely it will clip, but I find if you wedge it, it isn’t coming out. Did a lot of runs down Angelfire like this and never lost the GoPro.

I agree. I have all three. Og go pro chesty. And stuntman. And the go pro 9 chesty. It is great. However when it gets wet it moves easier. Like rain the backing becomes wet and just gets to be flipping around. My stuntman the thicker straps help but hot and itchy. The 9 chesty tops getting it on. Way easier. But the rain made mine loose kept top flipping down on bumps. But still my go to. The stuntman I find it better to use on a downhill run. But I go chin mount. Yet that stuntman shines on down runs.

The only thing that’s a drag about the chin mount is it captures the breathing a lot louder.

Here in the Netherlands helmet cams are banned. I agree 100% but the chest cam is our only option now

What about the Hero 9 either worked better with the Chesty or didnt work with the Stuntman? I use a Stuntman and Hero 9 and it works great(for me).

Stuntman seemed to bounce more with the added weight. Maybe I’ll try it again. It’s been awhile.

I do gnarly trails and tend to have the chest mount wobble and bounce, do you get that issue? Am I wearing it wrong? Lol

No, you aren’t. I definitely run into the same problem. I know BKXC puts another strap above the top to try and keep it from flopping. Once I figure out the best solution, I’ll let you all know. As it is now, the chin bar is best, but you capture more breathing.

I have switched to a clip and because i wear a camelpack, i clip it to the chest strap and sintch the pack tight and it make a WORLD of difference brother. My videos got way better and less editing out the gnar lol. thanks again, keep up your grind man, you are an inspiration to me and my friends. (We are in our 40's too)

I had the OG Chesty and hated it for all the bounce factor, add a gimble and it was a real hit and miss equation. Picked up the Stuntman and have been sold on it ever since including using it with my 9. Always rock solid and the price is a lot nicer than the Gopro branded stuff (thats a whole other argument though). I doubt I am going to swap out unless the Stuntman breaks somehow but it is nice to know they fixed that awful design they had before.

What gimbal are you using?

@@B1KER I was using the Feiyutec wgx 70 I think is the model. Good unit but I got the 9 so I didn't have to worry about another battery and device to manage. If you are using the 7 though it is a great unit from my experience.

@@PuffinPass My understanding was that none of them other than the GoPro one work for the 9 and 10 because they are so much heavier. That's why I was surprised when you said you were using a gimbal with the 9.

@@B1KER yeah I tried it once just to see if it worked but the 9 is too much for it. The 7 and 8 work fine with it though, didn't mean to confuse.
