Judaic Noahide The Hebrew Bible prophesied a New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34). It would have been given at some point after Judah’s return from the Babylonian Exile (Jeremiah 50:1-5). We also know the New Covenant would have provided atonement (Ezekiel 16:59-63) after Israel broke the Old Covenant (Deuteronomy 31:16, Jeremiah 11:10, Hosea 8:1, Isaiah 24:5). New Covenant means new agreement. A new agreement implies new instructions (a New Testament).

@@altinokz Would that mean Israel has been without a Covenant for 2,000+ years? If an Old Covenant is broken, a New Covenant must replace it in succession.

What a resource you are Dr. Abramson, I appreciate that you cite the sources so thoroughly. I'm a new viewer and (similar to Bodo) I am a christian who have taken an interest in judaism and its history in order to understand Jesus and the bible better.

Fascinating!! Thanks Doctor I read about Bodo Eliezer, didn’t know he was a part of the church. I read about him in the “World that was Ashkenaz “ . They learn him to be a reason for the decline in Christian Jewish relations in Carolinian rule . Agobard and his ilk used his conversion to say ;’ you see I told you so’ this is what happens when you’re too nice to the Jews. Another famous and probably the most important church figure to convert to Judaism was Andreas archbishop of Bari . (Bari fell under the influence of Constantinople). Andreas was influenced by Agobard’s story some hundred years later. He converted in Constantinople , but fled to muslim controlled Egypt.

Professor kindly make video on how Pakistan Movement and Israel creation have a lot in common to get self determination from majoritarian rule. It is said that pamphlet that started Pakistan movement i.e "Now or Never" by Ch. Rahmat Ali was influenced by the sentence of Auto-emancipation by Leon Pinkser.

Very interesting podcast, Henry. I always learn a lot from listening to you. I would enjoy hearing more about Bodo-Eleazar. Learning Hebrew can indeed affect how one views the Bible. I took two years of graduate Hebrew in preparation for my doctorate, something that really helped in my doctoral research on marriage and covenant renewal. The Tanach has a very rich undestanding of covenant. Many Christians simplistically think that there are only two covenants: the Old Covenant (Testament) and the New Covenant (Testament). I would be interested to hear you reflect more at some point on covenants, particularly on Jesus/Yeshua's interaction with the Hebrew covenants.

@@AaronMiller-rh7rj Key covenants in the Tanach are the covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Jeremiah. There are other less prominent covenants mentioned n the Bible. Meredith Kline said that the discovery of the covenant connection with ancient Near Eastern treaties is more important than even the unearthing of the Dead Sea Scrolls. I would value hearing from Henry Abramson in a future podcast on covenants and history.

@@EdHird You overlooked the covenant with Adam. What did God promise Adam after he sinned? God promised Adam that He would send a Savior to destroy the works of satan and redeem mankind from the bondage of sin.

I couldn’t but notice your comment; The Doctor mentioned the Mikraot Gedolot . It was printed the first time by Daniel Bamberg in Venice early 16th century. It also served as the Hebrew Bible used by the translators of the king James . Google Mikraot Gedolot you’ll get the full list of classical commentaries included in the first edition and subsequent editions.

It’s possible that Bodo’s polemic against Christianity was somewhat buffered from danger by the fact that at the time he was living in a Muslim country, Al Andalus.

Very interesting video! Apparently his pilgrimage to Rome (the seat of the antichrist) opened his eyes to the fact that catholicism is not true Christianity and Yeshua was not catholic but was a Torah observant Jew who taught the Law of Moses. If all catholics would read the Bible they would come to the same conclusion.

Torah and New Testament together, the objective at the end is to make us one people under Yeshua Hamashiach. All the 1st century writings byJews one was a pharisee, are bringing the full understanding that repentance for sin personally is between yourself and Hamashiach, keeping the 10 comandments and feasts in glorifying him and memory of what is to come. Revelation lays out salvation. Combined in psalms ect ect. Yeshua is amazing! My mother is from A Coruna spain, my biological father was said to be from Austria.
